Everyone likes a good poll and I have a simple question... When running mixed gender matches, do you feel it's necessary to use the female conversions when running mixed gender matches?
According to the Shimmer handbook, the official conversions are: - Power Rating increased by 3 - Ring Rating worse by 1 (A to B, B to C) - PIN Rating increased by 1 - Cage Rating increased by 2
Other things to consider... Some females already appear to have stats that take mixed gender competition into consideration (ie. those found in sets that are not exclusively for women - CZW, Chikara, etc.)
Also, some players might use some of the conversions, but not all... And then there's the COTG vs LOW/LOTF question... I never use female conversions when playing COTG...
Please elaborate when you can... Many thanks!

Yes, (almost) always.
I prefer my wrestling based in reality and want my feds to follow suit. The only one I don't use the conversions for is Chikara because they promote men and women as being on the same level.
Personally, when I watch wrestling, when anyone, women or otherwise, defeat someone they are totally outclassed by, it loses credibility. For instance, when Kimber Lee (who I think is really good) recently defeated Donovan Dijak at a Beyond Wrestling show, it was totally unconvincing. I just did not buy it and don't think I ever would. Unless, she knocked him out with a tire iron.

Oh yeah... The reason I wanted this poll in the first place... I'm thinking about bringing some Shimmer talent into my Wrestling Gone Viral fed... Although I plan to start a female division at some point, they will be involved in quite a bit of mixed gender action... So far, the only female wrestlers I've used are Mia Yim (CZW), Daizee Haze and Sara Del Rey (both Chikara)... And I didn't bother using female conversions because their cards appear to have appropriate stats for competing against men already.

Question for you, aceldamas... Of you were rolling a match between SDR (Chikara intro version) and Donovan Dijak, would you implement the female conversions? Thank you for taking the time to explain your standpoint, my friend... Much appreciated!

Question for you, aceldamas ... Of you were rolling a match between SDR (Chikara intro version) and Donovan Dijak, would you implement the female conversions? Thank you for taking the time to explain your standpoint, my friend... Much appreciated! Yes. With the converted stats, SDR would still have a better chance to win than other women would. But her chances should still be limited. With MMA as an example, Rhonda Rousey at one point was stomping out every other women. But she still would have had no chance against Josh Barnett, Cain Valasquez, etc. Now, Sara against someone like Pinky Sanchez? She would have a much better chance of winning but it's still man vs. woman and there are certain realities involved with that. With similar skills and training, men are 99.9% still going to win. That being said, promotions like Chikara and Lucha Underground are far more stylized and fictional, where everyone is essentially a superhero. So the rules are out the window. That's probably why I'm not huge into those shows. I like wrestling to resemble a sport with a reasonable suspension of disbelief. So, I think it just comes down to what you want your fed to be.

sometimes for sure....I remember at G-Con a couple years back Veda Scott wrestling Rickey Shane Page and he was over a foot taller and probably weighed three times what she did. It's one thing to me when the wrestlers are roughly the same size but when the guys are simply so much bigger it's so hard to suspend disbelief.

I would pretty much always use them save for a few rare examples... like maybe if we got Chyna at some point... I don't know. Otherwise, like aceldamas stated, there's not reality in a female beating a male wrestler unless there was a massive skill / experience gap. I'm all for certain feds to suspend disbelief but when running a fed that is based in some form of kayfabe contest era, there's just no way woman is beating a man save for a total fluke, major cheating or an expertly concocted strategy of stick and move or speed/agility based offense.

In my Indy feds I do not have many mixed gender matches but if I did I would use the conversion chart (except for in my Lachikaras Vegas fed) even for Candice Lerae who I have seen hold her own against guys repeatedly when she wrestled for PWG.
Also, if we were to get Lucha Underground in the game, I would not use the conversion chart for a Lucha Underground fed.
In my LOW fed I have Trish Stratus wrestling guys regularly but for her matches I have been using the conversion chart.

I only use the chart when necessary. First, I hate mixed-gender matches! That said, I just don't schedule them. However, with my NDW bootlegs, I use mixed-gender matches often. It's actually written into the handbooks to not use the conversion chart. Di-Smash, one of the female NDW wrestlers has mild superpowers, so she can easily hang with the guys. Other female characters Social Butterfly and Jacklyn Snow have stats that reflect them fighting in mixed-gender matches. Social Butterfly may seem tough for a card designed to face men and women alike, but that will be explained soon enough. I guess my simple answer to this long winded response is this, yes! If it is necessary, I would always use them. The only time I wouldn't is when the handbook instructs not to, which I believe the Chikara starter set does tell you not to.

Greatly appreciate the input, my friends... Since Sara Del Rey, Daizee Haze and Mia Yim are the only females I've introduced so far, I probably won't bother with the conversions... Mixed gender matches will be kept to a minimum and when I start using the Shimmer talent, it will be for a women's only division... Many thanks!
