What an awesome show, especially cool to see Randy Savage capture the N.E.W. Television title from AJ Styles in a wild match. Sherri Martel helped out the "Macho Man" big time and that is something that Styles is going to have to figure out as her interference can really turn the tide of a match. The same can be said for J.J. Dillon with his assist to Ted Dibiase in his successful world title defense against Harley Race. I am very intrigued about Dibiase and Dillon taking an interest in Shield members Tyler Black & Jon Moxley.
Ilio DiPaolo over the Iron Sheik was amazing, a notable win for the Italian star. It would be cool to see DiPaolo build some momentum off of that win. The Trish Stratus vs. Madison Rayne rivalry continues to intensify and adding Cheerleader Melissa and Kelly Klein to the mix only adds to it. Good stuff, AJ.

Thanks, Crue!
I think Card #4 was one of the best, most fun cards I've rolled in a long time.
I think things are coming along nicely.
Keep an eye out for some of the stuff that I've got in the pipeline.
I think you might like what's coming.

Tremendous start, I could watch a Randy Savage vs. AJ Styles all day hopefully that is not the last we see of those two go at it. I really like how your ladies division is shaping up. I really like the pairing of Klien and Rayne....looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Thanks very much for the comments, joebreakdown and Ice!
I think I put together an interesting roster, but there's so many cards I want to use and with the format of my shows (six matches broken down into three singles, two tags and one women's) I often fear that I'm not playing enough to properly showcase everyone.
Sometimes, in my head, I imagine that there are always 'house shows' going on 'off-camera' as it were and that the shows I post are the Televised ones... and therefore the most important... but yeah.
I really do feel that sometimes I'm not playing enough matches per card or not playing enough cards.
I really am glad for those who read and comment on this little thing I'm doing, though.
It motivates me and makes me smile all at once.

New Era Wrestling -Card #5- (Manchester, NH):
The show opens with a shot of the backstage area, where we see A.J. Styles pacing back and forth. Clearly, he's agitated.
Styles: "Randy Savage! You and I have a problem! See, I don't have a problem with losing a match... or the Television title. What I do have a problem with, however, is when I lose thanks to some dirty, crazy skank sticking her nose into the match! See, Savage, I don't think you can beat me without Martel's help. Now, I know... I just know... that you're not man enough to face me one-on-one without her in your corner. Know this, Savage: your time with my T.V. title is coming to an end!"
Next we see our commentary team at the broadcast position and a clear shot of the ring, where the lovely Miss Cindy Shepherd waits to bring us...
*The Gangsters of Love ("Dastardly" Danny Doring & Amish Roadkill) & Mikey Whipwreck vs. Jungle Boogie (Koko B. Ware & D-Lo Brown) & S.D. Jones
The crowd goes nuts when Koll & The Gang's "Jungle Boogie" hits and the team of Ware, Brown, and Jones make their entrance. Doring complains to the ref to no avail. Doring and company get to vent their frustrations on Koko for a bit with some quick tags and isolating him in the wrong corner. Koko eventually escapes and brings in his partner D-Lo, who cleans house. After a bit, the action reverts to a more back-and-forth fashion with the ECW crew seeming to make the most headway. Roadkill nearly manages to put Brown away not once but twice before things get turned around again. Brown brings in "Special Delivery" and it is only a short period of time before a power body slam leads to a headbutt that... amazingly... puts Roadkill down for the count, despite Whipwreck and Doring trying to save the day. "Jungle Boogie" plays once again as the winners celebrate their big win!
Winners of the match: Jungle Boogie & S.D. Jones!
Cantrell: "A big win for Jungle Boogie and S.D. Jones here tonight in Manchester, Frankie! The crew of the E.C.W. Originals can not be happy with what appears to be the beginning of a losing streak."
Saddler: "I wouldn't be too surprised if we eventually see some of these guys face off in some singles matches, Mike."
We end up back in the ring with Miss Cindy once the dust settles so she can introduce...
*"Playboy" Buddy Rose vs. George South
Rose insists on telling the crowd that he is weighing in at a slim, trim 217 lbs. but the fans in attendance make it known that they in no way believe him. South gives a good accounting of himself but once Rose gets tired of playing around, he ends the match with a well-timed use of a foreign object. After the match, the "Playboy" gets his hands on a mic and makes the statement: "Hey DiBiase! You're looking for someone to join you in the Gentlemen's Club? Well... look know further! I'm right here!"
Winner of the Match: Buddy Rose!
Cantrell: ""Playboy" Buddy Rose making his intentions known in regards to joining forces with World Champion "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. There's been no shortage of applicants so far, eh, Frankie?"
Saddler: "Do you really think that DiBiase and Dillon are even interested in some of these guys? I mean... Buddy Rose and Buff Bagwell? Come on, Mike."
Yet again, we return to the ring to join Miss Cindy as she makes the introductions of...
*Marti Belle vs. Laura Phoenix (w/ The Dark Menace)
The two ladies give a spirited performance for a bit before... out of nowhere... Belle hits a roaring forearm smash that levels Phoenix! Marti goes for a cover and it seems like it's over until the Dark Menace gets involved in the match, aiming to hit Belle with his cane! Marti gets her hands on the cane and clobbers the devious manager with it instead! The Menace sails out of the ring over the top rope and the match continues. A straitjacket neckbreaker slam sets Phoenix up for HELL'S BELLS and the match ends with the Dark Menace throwing a temper tantrum on the outside of the ring.
Winner of the Match: Marti Belle!
Cantrell: "Big win for Marti Belle here tonight, Frankie. It's not often that anyone gets the drop on the Dark Menace!"
Saddler: "Yeah. I really like Marti. Not as much as I liked April Hunter, but... that's okay. I think she's got a great future ahead of her here."
Up next, we go backstage to the interview stage to join Amy Lee and her guests Koko B. Ware, D-Lo Brown, and S.D. Jones. The three men seem to still be in good spirits after winning their match earlier in the night.
Lee: "Hey, guys. Congratulations on your win earlier. Speaking of that, though... word is that Danny Doring and his friends feel that your win was a fluke. They say that they had you. What are your thoughts?"
Ware: "Listen, Miss Amy, those three crybabies are just jealous! They know winners when they see them and we... we are winners! They couldn't buy a win, baby!"
Brown: "I'll tell you what, Amy Lee: Any one of us could take any one of them at any time! Any time! Just say when, baby. Maine, New York, you name the place!"
Ware: "You hear that, you goofy knuckleheads? WE'll take you out any time you want. Any time!"
With the break over, we go back to the ring for Miss Shepherd's introductions of...
*Larry "The Axe" Hennig (w/ Harley Race) vs. Virgil (w/ "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase)
Virgil comes out swinging but Hennig puts a stop to that stuff pretty quickly. Larry works Virgil over pretty easily, throwing him around like a ragdoll for a bit before he gets tired of playing around and drops poor Virgil with THE AXE! Larry makes a nonchalant cover and he nearly gets the three count, but the World Champion makes his presence felt... distracting the referee. The match continues and it's only a short wait until Hennig lays Virgil low with another application of THE AXE! This time Larry is a little more diligent in his cover and he gets the three count and the victory. DiBiase looks disgusted and he berates his fallen bodyguard.
Cantrell: "I'm not really surprised with the results of that match-up, Frankie. I am, however, just surprised that it took as long as it did. World champion Ted DiBiase is really, really angry with his man Virgil here tonight in Manchester. I'd imagine that DiBiase's words for his man could blister the paint off the walls."
Saddler: "Ha. I can only imagine. DiBiase hates to lose. He also hates to look bad in public, Mike. Not a good night to be in his vicinity."
Once the four men are separated and the ring is cleared, we can once again get treated to the golden introductions from Miss Cindy...
*The KIller Bees ("Jumping" Jim Brunzell & B. Brian Blair) vs. The Varsity Club ("Dr. Death" Steve Williams & Kevin Sullivan; w/ Bob Roop)
This is quite possibly the most competitive match of the card, as both teams really pull out all the stops here tonight. The Bees seem to have things well in hand until... well... they lose control of things. Doctor Death makes it into the ring once again and more or less mops the floor with both Blair and Brunzell. The punishment continues seemingly for hours before Brunzell is drilled through the mat by the third OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE of the match. This one ends with both of the Bees crumpled up in a heap in the middle of the ring.
Winners of the Match: The Varsity Club!
Cantrell: "The Varsity Club, Frankie. They really mean business. I'd have to say that all the other teams here in New Era Wrestling should be on notice!"
Saddler: "Can you imagine what's going to happen when these Varsity Club monsters collide head-to-head with the N.E.W. Tag Champs? The Road Warriors? I can't wait!"
Cantrell: "Time will tell, my friend. Time will tell."
Once again, when the dust clears, we go to the ring... for the last time tonight... we join Miss Cindy so she can bring us...
*"The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage (N.E.W. TV Champion; w/ Sherri Martel)
Former champion Styles jumps all over the champion in the early stages of the match and Savage is reeling from the onslaught... until an unexpected bit of sloppiness on the part of Styles leaves Savage an opening to turn things around. Styles clearly made a mistake and Savage makes him pay dearly for it! Martel cheers her man on as he dominates the challenger and goes out of his way to punish Styles and kind of make him look bad, too. Savage puts in some more work on the challenger for a bit, hitting the challenger with a running knee to the back that he tries to follow up with a suplex... only to fail and fail badly! Styles and Savage trade dominance back and forth multiple times over the next few minutes and the crowd is loving it until an elbow to the head from Savage on Styles drops him to the mat... to everyone's shock... setting him up for the FLYING ELBOW SMASH! Savage goes for a sloppy cover and... much to the dismay of the fans... turns into a three count and ending the match! Savage and Martel gloat over the fallen body of the challenger, lifting the title belt high overhead. The fans shower the ring with empty cups and other detritus as the champion continues to celebrate.
Winner of the Match and STILL N.E.W. Television Champion: Randy Savage!
Cantrell: "A.J. Styles falling short here tonight, Frankie. I'm at a loss for words. Savage's victory seemingly came from out of nowhere. I can only imagine that The Phenomenal One is wracking his brain right now, wondering what the Hell just happened."
Saddler: "Man, Mike. I really thought for a bit there that A.J. was going to recapture the TV title here tonight. I'm kind of disappointed, actually."
The show ends with the Macho Man and Sensational Sherri still gloating about their win, tonight.
*The End*

I was thinking that AJ Styles might snatch the gold back in his rematch as well but the "Macho Man" found a way to win. Kevin Sullivan, "Dr. Death" and Bob Roop as the Varsity Club is great and what a win over the Killer Bees. I could see big things happening for the VC in NEW. I loved the Jungle Boogie and S.D. Jones pairing as well as the wins for Playboy Buddy Rose and Marti Belle. Rose, however, joining Dibiase and Dillon could be a longshot.

As always, crue, thanks for the commentary. I think you might like where I'm going to go with the Buddy Rose situation. No spoilers, though. Ha.
New Era Wrestling -Card #6- (Bangor,ME)
The show opens with a backstage shot of North American Champion Kevin Steen. He is pacing back and forth with a look of grim determination on his face. His title belt is slung over his shoulder.
Steen: "You know... I had thought that once you beat the top contender, that they were supposed to send someone else after you so that the next person in line could get his ass kicked! It turns out that if you happen to be "The Perfect Loser" Curt Hennig, though, that the clowns that run this little dog and pony show will kiss your butt and give you whatever you want! So tonight I have to defend my belt... my title... against a man that I have already beaten on at least two occasions! So much for 'justice'. So much for this being a meritocracy. Fine. I will easily... easily... beat Curt Hennig again tonight. But this time? I plan on hurting him so bad that he will know better than to ever... ever... challenge me again!"
The next shot is of the arena proper and a close-in shot of the ringside area, where our Announcing Goddess Miss Cindy Shepherd waits to bring us...
*Cowboy Country (Blackjack Mulligan & Sam Houston w/ "Cowboy" Scott Casey) vs. Larry Sharpe & Johnny Rodz
The Texans make short work of their opponents here in Maine tonight after a rocky start in which "The Unpredictable One" got somewhat of a hot start. Once Sharpe got involved, however, his team's fortunes changed dramatically and the cowboys more or less demolished him. Mulligan softened Sharpe up for a BULLDOG from Houston to put him away.
Winners of The Match: Cowboy Country!
Cantrell: "A great debut for the Texan team of Cowboy Country here tonight, Frankie! They do seem to grow 'em big in Texas, don't they?"
Saddler: "Personally, I think that they're along way from home, Mike."
We don't take too long to get back into the ring for Miss Cindy's next round of introductions...
*Big Superstar vs. Jim Powers
Big Superstar almost makes things look too easy in there against Jim Powers here tonight, until the big man got distracted by playing up to the fans and giving Powers a chance to make a quick comeback! Big Superstar is too shocked by this turn of events to adequately defend himself and as a result, Powers really takes it to him for a while! Powers works over the cocky big man for a bit, until Big Superstar decides he has enough and he 'hulks up' to make a big comeback... that fizzles out in dramatic fashion. Superstar went for a clothesline that Powers easily counters with a monkey flip and a dropkick that puts the big man flat on his back! The New York native, being no fool, immediately jumps on the downed Superstar and much to everyone's surprise... especially Big Superstar's... gets a three count and the win! In the aftermath of the match, Powers has his celebrations cut short by Big Superstar... who offers him a handshake and a humble congratulations.
Winner of the Match: Jim Powers!
Cantrell: "Wow. I'm at a loss for words, Frankie. Loss for words."
Saddler: "That was great! I'd love to see that big idiot lose all of his matches here in New Era Wrestling, Mike! I never liked him!"
And once again we return to the ring and Miss Cindy so that she can bring us...
*The Empire of The Rising Sun (Fuji & Saito) vs. The Red Army (Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zhukov w/ Nikita Breznikov)
A classic match that seems like it go either way at any time, with both teams getting to have their time in the spotlight for a while. Fuji and Saito eventually end up in a dominant position and take control firmly in hand, forcing Volkoff to run in to save his partner from being pinned on two different occasions. A SAITO SUPLEX on Big Boris looks like it's going to end the match until Breznikov saves his men by distracting the referee. The Japanese superstars continue to work on Boris for a bit but he eventually eludes them and brings in Nikolai... who seemingly had been frothing at the mouth being so desperate to tag in... and the big Russian just cleans house. After a short, but brutal, display of power from Nikolai, the match ends with a BACKBREAKER DROP on Saito that seals the deal while Zhukov runs interference to keep Fuji from breaking up the pin attempt. The Russains celebrate by draping a Russian Flag over the prone body of their victim while the fans boo them unmercifully.
Winners of The Match: The Red Army!
Cantrell: "An amazing display of tag team wrestling here in Maine, tonight, Frankie!"
Saddler: "You know, Mike? I'm beginning to think that managers being at ringside is going to be a huge game-changer here."
Next we go backstage to the interview area where the beautiful Amy Lee is waiting with her guests tonight: World Champion "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, his bodyguard Virgil, and manager J.J. Dillon.
Lee: "Welcome to Maine, gentlemen. I'm told that you specifically requested this interview time, so be my guests and tell us what this is all about, please."
DiBiase: "Amy Lee! You know, as N.E.W. World Champion, I have to travel all over the country... the world... to defend this belt. Even to places I despise like Bangor, Maine! That being said... and I don't care what the fans might think of me at all for saying it... tonight J.J. and I will be paying close attention to the main event. Hennig and Steen. Now, those are tow men who would be perfect members of my little Gentlemen's Club don't you agree?"
Lee: "Well, one of those two men is walking out of the building tonight as the N.E.W. North American Champion... and having that champion in an alliance with you would, I'm sure, provide an extra layer of protection for you. Seeing as the North American Champion is nearly always considered to be a valid top contender for your title...."
Dillon: "While that is true, Miss Lee, we would never use a teammate or friend to shield us from a fight! The very idea is ridiculous!"
Lee: "Okay, then. Sorry I said anything."
"Playboy" Buddy Rose arrives uninvited on the scene and decides to put in his two cents.
Rose: "DiBiase... Champ. You don't need to look at Hennig or Steen to find your next member of your very elite Club! I'm right here and I am more than happy to accept your invitation tonight in Bangor, Maine!"
DiBiase and Dillon are about to say something... possibly to sic Virgil on Rose... when Buff Bagwell also crashes the party!
Bagwell: "Now, now, now. You step aside, Rose. The real main attraction id here now! That's right! I'm Buff... I'm the Stuff... and I will be the next man to join the Gentlemen's Club, baby!"
Amy Lee is frankly amazed at the idiocy of these two men when the World Champion gets the mic and breaks her silence.
DiBiase: "Rose? Bagwell? Are either of you smart enough to realize that the Gentlemen's Club is an invitation-only kind of club? Neither of you has been invited! Nor would you be! Rose? You're a hot mess! And Bagwell? What have you ever done in your whole career that makes you think that you're fit to even be in the same room as J.J. or myself? Now. Both of you. Get lost before we make put you through this wall!"
Rose looks appalled and snatches the mic away from the champion!
Rose: "Let me tell you something, DiBiase! This 'hot mess' and this loser here... Bagwell is it? WE think we cna take you. You and your jacked-up bodyguard here! So let's do this, DiBiase! You two against us two! Next week in New York! I'll show you a hot mess, God damn it!"
For their part, DiBiase and Dillon just laugh off the challenge by Rose and Bagwell as the two men leave the stage.
After Amy Lee wraps up her interview segment, we return to ringside for the introductions of...
*The Iron Sheik vs. "Ravishing" Rick Rude (w/ Percy Pringle III)
This one can only be classified as a war as both men feel that they have something to prove here tonight. The Sheik dominates for most of the early goings but once Rude gets back on his feet, the Iranian's fortunes change and he eventually falls prey to not one, not two, but three RUDE AWAKENINGs! The match ends with Pringle and Rude dismissively ignoring the Iron Sheik as they head for the back as the fans bood them... even though they weren't sure which man to cheer for in the first place.
Winner of the Match: Rick Rude!
Once the irate Iron Sheik is escorted back to the locker room area, we can go back into the ring so that Miss Cindy can bring us...
*Trish Stratus vs. Madison Rayne (N.E.W. Women's Champion w/ Kelly Klein)
A very closely fought match for the most part sees the challenger looking in rare form tonight, taking everything the champion can throw at her and continuously come back for more! Trish makes a miraculous comeback and starts to really put a pounding on Madison for a bit before Rayne seeks solace on the outside of the ring. Trish is on fire as she follows her opponent out of the ring and stalks the champion nearly all around the ring. The champion, being quite the cagey veteran herself, distracts the referee long enough for her partner in crime Kelly Klein to get into position to blast Trish across teh back with a steel chair! Stratus goes down in a heap and Klein very thoughtfully helps her roll back into the ring where Madison is waiting. A Rayne Drop on the still-stunned Trish cleanly and easily puts her away for a three count. As the champion and her 'bodyguard' celebrate in style, Cheerleader Melissa runs down to ringside to confront the ref and make him aware of the shenanigans that had transpired. The referee, caught between Rayne and Melissa, is powerless to change his decision as, by the rules, he didn't actually see anything. Melissa helps Trish to her feet as Madison and Kelly have a good laugh at their expense.
Winner of the Match and STILL N.E.W. Women's Champion: Madison Rayne!
Cantrell: "You know, Frankie? You might be right in your assessment earlier. It really does seem like the wrestler with someone on the outside has a distinct advantage in these matches."
Saddler: "It's going to take a miracle to get that belt off of Madison while she's still got Kelly Klein watching her back, Mike. Frankly, I don't know if any of the other ladies in the division can do it."
Once again we have to wait for the ring to be cleared before we can be treated to the lovely Miss Cindy's final introductions of the night...
*"Mister Perfect" Curt Hennig vs. "Wrestling's Worst Nightmare" Kevin Steen (N.E.W. North American Champion)
AS Hennig and Steen do battle, World champion "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and his manager J.J. Dillon watch from the top of the ramp. The two warriors in the ring, however, don't seem to notice. It's anybody's match for the most part as both men get to showcase their skills and talents in turn. The champion eventually takes over on offense after a couple very close calls and really puts Hennig through the meat grinder. A powerbomb onto the ring apron seals the deal for the champion as Hennig is battered, bruised and beaten... and in perfect position for an F-CINQ! Steen goes for a cover and nearly gets the three count and the win but the referee is pulled out of the ring by J.J. Dillon as Ted DiBiase jumpsd into the ring to attack the champion! DiBiase and Steen brawl for a bit and as soon as Steen looks like he's getting the upper hand... Hennig recovers and jumps in and goes to work on the champion as well! The ref calls for the bell and awards the win to the champion even as the wild brawl continues.
Winner of the Match (by DQ) and STILL N.E.W. North American Champion: Kevin Steen!
Cantrell: "What the Hell! Well. It looks like DiBiase and Dillon have made their choice, Frankie."
Saddler: "So it would seem so, Mike. Sad, huh?"
The show ends with the beatdown of Kevin Steen still in progress.
*The End*

Another solid night of NEW action and what a curve ball with Ted Dibiase & J.J. Dillon siding with Curt Hennig over Kevin Steen as I was expecting the opposite. Hennig makes a fine addition to their Club and it will be interesting to see not only what develops there but also when Dibiase & Virgil take on Buddy Rose & Buff Bagwell. I loved that segment with Amy Lee.
The tag teams were out in force and the Red Army vs. Fuji & Saito bout was killer and I love that new combination of Cowboy Country. Rick Rude over the Iron Sheik was a good one and Madison Rayne gets a huge win over Trish Stratus thanks to Kelly Klein. Cheerleader Melissa tried to get something done about it to no avail and Trish takes a tough loss against her rival.

New Era Wrestling -Card #7- (New York, NY):
The first shot of the night is of Trish Stratus standing outside of a doorway that is marked with a sign that reads "A.Costello- Promoter. Main Office". Visibly angry, Stratus looks to the camera and speaks.
Stratus: "Last week, one of my fellow Canadians made a statement. He said, basically, that there is no justice. It really looks that way, doesn't it? Well, if there's no justice, I guess I'll just have to settle for revenge!"
With that, the door opens and Cheerleader Melissa steps outside. The two women exchange a serious look and Melissa nods. Trish smiles and nods without saying anything further.
After that somewhat enigmatic opening, we go to the ringside area to join Miss Cindy Shepherd so that she can bring us...
*"The Birdman" Koko B. Ware (w/ D-Lo Brown) vs. "Dastardly" Danny Doring (w/ Amish Roadkill)
Koko comes to the ring, once again, to the tune of Kool & The Gang's "Jungle Boogie" and the crowd seems to eat it up. Doring and Roadkill seem to have a few fans in the audience, as well. Koko and Danny start out slowly, circling each other and testing the waters, so to speak, before the action really gets going. It's a great back-and-forth match for a bit before Koko gets the upper hand. A flying headbutt sets Doring up for a cross bodyblock to set up a pin attempt. Doring looks to be done until Roadkill gets involved, saving his partner and letting the match continue. Koko keeps applying the pressure on Doring for a bit before a GHOSTBUSTER puts Doring away for good. In the aftermath while Koko and D-Lo celebrate, Doring and Roadkill confer amongst themselves for a moment before launching themselves at the members of Jungle Boogie and initiating a beatdown! The carnage continues for a moment until a handful of officials come in to break things up.
Winner of the Match: Koko B. Ware!
Cantrell: "Great win by Koko B. Ware here tonight, Frankie. The rivalry between Jungle Boogie and the Gangsters of Love doesn't look like it's anywhere near over with, from my vantage point, though."
Saddler: "You're absolutely right, Mike. These guys really don't like each other."
Once the ring is cleared of the combatants, we can rejoin Miss Cindy in the ring so that she can introduce...
*Veda Scott & Delilah Doom vs. Penny Banner & Malia Hosaka
Hosaka and Banner make quick work of Scott and Doom, despite a valiant attempt at a comeback by Veda in the later stages of the match.
Winners of the Match: Banner and Hosaka!
Cantrell: "Miss Banner and Miss Hosaka making their presence felt here in New York City tonight, Frankie. Expect to see some impressive things in the future from these two. Either in singles or as a team."
Saddler: "That'll be pretty cool, Mike. I'm looking forward to maybe seeing Hosaka and Banner maybe square off one-on-one eventually."
The ring is once again cleared so that Miss Cindy can once again make some introductions of...
*"Doctor Death" Steve Williams (w/ Kevin Sullivan) vs. The Sandman
Sandman starts the match early with a chair shot on Williams on the outside of the ring. Sullivan yells at the ref as Sandman rolls Doctor Death into the ring and immediately goes for a HARDCORE DDT! Williams, somehow, manages to kick out before the three count and the match continues! Sandman stays on his man, swarming all over him with a steady string of offense that eventually culminates in another HARDCORE DDT! Once again, Williams powers out of the pin attempt, allowing the match to keep going. Sandman tries to continue putting the boots to Williams but he eventually gets sloppy, allowing Doctor Death to make a comeback... throwing Sandman into the turnbuckles! Sandman hits the corner hard and Williams charges in like an angry bull, only to go crashing into the ring post when Sandman ducks aside at the last minute! Williams is down and Sandman goes for a cover... Sullivan tries to intervene on behalf of his fellow Varsity Club member to no avail... and the ref counts to three! The match ends with Sandman getting his hand raised... only to be jumped from behind by Kevin Sullivan! Sandman is reeling as Williams recovers and both members of the Varsity Club put the boots to him, clearly doing a lot of damage. Officials eventually get Williams and Sullivan off of Sandman and send them on their way to the locker rooms and a medical team comes out to the ring to attend to the clearly injured Hardcore Legend.
Winner of the Match: Sandman!
Cantrell: "A truly despicable act by a pair of despicable men here tonight, Frankie! I can only hope that Sandman can recover quickly so that he can get his revenge."
Saddler: "Sandman may have to recruit some friends, Mike. The Varsity Club clearly has him outnumbered."
We follow up the shot of the carnage in the ring with a shot of the interview stage where Amy Lee is waiting. She is soon joined by "Doctor Death" Steve Williams and Kevin Sullivan... laughing and gloating. They are soon joined by Bob Roop after a moment.
Lee: "Gentlemen. That was quite a display of teamwork and brutality out there. You've clearly sent a message here in New York tonight, but my question is this: who was the massage meant for?"
Sullivan: "Amy Lee! Our message was clearly meant for everyone else here in New Era Wrestling! The first people who need to take notice is the Road Warriors! They have something we want. And we're going to take it. You mark my words, Amy Lee. Their time with the Tag Team Championship is coming to an end very, very soon. Very soon, indeed!"
The members of the Varsity Club all laugh evilly as they depart the interview area.
We soon go back to the ring so that the lovely Cindy Shepherd can bring us a very special match...
* "Playboy" Buddy Rose & Buff Bagwell vs. "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (N.E.W. World Champion) & Virgil (w/ J.J. Dillon)
Rose and Bagwell start out looking good, clearly working out their frustrations and anger on Virgil (who started the match for his team) and actually getting in a near fall on the World Champion's bodyguard! Virgil gets lucky and gets into his own corner and he brings in the World Champion! DiBiase cleans house, whipping Rose like a scalded dog for seemingly forever until a lucky dive into the corner brings in Buff Bagwell to turn the tide. Bagwell's string of offense doesn't really last too long as the Champion gets angry at these upstarts trying to make him look bad on television. DiBiase looks to end the match with the COBRA CLUTCH on Bagwell but Rose jumps to his partner's defense, breaking up the hold and leading DiBiase on a merry chase around the ring. Rose avoids tangling with Virgil and Dillon by ducking back into the ring and as DiBiase looks to follow him back in... but a surprise appearance by North American champion Kevin Steen keeps Ted from making it back into the ring on time... grabbing him by the angkle and holding on with a death grip! World Champion Ted DiBiase is counted out of the ring as J.J. Dillon and Virgil go ballistic as the match is awarded to Rose and Bagwell! Steen, as he's backing up the ramp toward the locker room area, has some choice words for DiBiase and friends, pointing to his head in an indication that he is smarter than the World champion.
Winners of the Match: Buddy Rose & Buff Bagwell!
Cantrell: "That... that... clearly... should not have happened, Frankie. I'm loving it, though!"
Saddler: "Rose and Bagwell are going to be insufferable after this win, Mike. I guarantee it."
Once the temper tantrums by the members of the Gentlemen's Club abate and the ring finally gets cleared, we can once again go to the ring for the next match...
* "Bullet" Bob Armstrong vs. Gorgeous George (with Cherie Dupré)
Armstrong and George put on a clinic for a bit before the Gorgeous One's dirty tactics take center stage and give him a clear advantage. Bob is put through his paces for a bit before making a strong comeback. George is in trouble for a while as Bullet Bob goes on a string of offense that culminates with a SLEEPER in the middle of the ring! Cherie gets involved and distracts the referee, therefore giving her man a break. Armstrong goes back to work on George and after a few more moments locks on another SLEEPER! Gorgeous George, despite valiantly trying to get to the ropes, eventually succumbs to the punishing hold. The match ends with Bob Armstrong getting his hand raised... only to notice that King Kong Bundy and his manager "Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart are watching from the Gorilla position. Bullet Bob, standing in the middle of the ring, beckons Bundy to 'come on down' but the big man from New Jersey and his manager laugh him off and return to the backstage area.
Winner of the Match: Bob Armstrong!
Cantrell: "Big win tonight from Bullet Bob Armstrong here tonight, Frankie. The man is on a roll, huh?"
Saddler: "I'm just curious as to what Bundy and Hart thought they were accomplishing with that little show, Mike."
For the last time tonight, Miss Cindy takes her spot in the ring to bring us tonight's Main Event...
*The Heenan Family (Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. The Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal; N.E.W. Tag Team Champions; w/ Paul Ellering)
Bockwinkel and Stevens give a better accounting of themselves this time around, even getting Hawk in a pinning predicament at one point but once the Road Warriors finally get going... the end of the match is almost a foregone conclusion. Heenan gets sticks his nose into the match to save Stevens from a DOOMSDAY DEVICE, and Bockwinkel gets to break up the pin on the second DOOMSDAY DEVICE and actually manage to get the momentum swung back into the favor of the Heenan Family. The Road Warriors take a little bit of what Bockwinkel and Stevens are dishing out but, once again, the tables turn and this time it's Nick who gets drilled through the mat with the third DOOMSDAY DEVICE of the match! Stevens miraculously gets into the ring in time to keep the match going for a bit. Surprisingly enough, the match ends with a running clothesline from Hawk on Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel is pinned cleanly in the middle of the ring as Bobby "The Brain" throws a tantrum on the outside.
Winners of the Match and STILL N.E.W. Tag Team Champions: The Road Warriors!
Cantrell: "The Road Warriors once again prove that they are the team to beat here in New Era Wrestling, Frankie. Any team that thinks they have a chance at taking the titles from them... had better be prepared for a rough night."
Saddler: "For real, Mike. I think there're some other teams in N.E.W. that might have a chance, though."
The show ends with Hawk and Animal holding their title belts high overhead in the middle of the ring with Paul Ellering.
*The End*
