NWA 31 WCW Saturday Night Center Stage Atlanta, Ga Saturday, July 7, 2018
The NWA presents WCW Saturday Night!!
“The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase w/Rodney vs. “Sodbuster” Kenny Jay DiBiase made short work of Jay, putting him out with the Billion Dollar Dream. After the bell, Rodney entered the ring and handed DiBiase one of his own $100 bills, and DiBiase stuffed it into Jay’s mouth. He then asked for a mic and turned to Rodney: “Rodney, Rodney, Rodney. We need to talk about what happened at the Bunkhouse Stampede, don’t we?” Footage is shown of Rodney attempting to help DiBiase in the match, only to inadvertently cause him to instead be eliminated. “So, Rodney? What are we going to do about this?” Rodney: “Mr. DiBiase, I’m sor-“ DiBiase: “You’re sorry? Sorry? You’re sorry. And you think that’s good enough?” Rodney: “Yes, Mr. DiBiase, I-“ DiBiase: “Sorry doesn’t cut it!” Just then, a huge man wearing a suit, hat, and sunglasses hit the ring and leveled Rodney with a vicious clothesline! He then whipped him into the ropes and delivered a nasty Spike Slam! DiBiase then stuffs another $100 bill into Rodney’s mouth and says “Apology accepted. Oh, and you’re fired! And to the rest of the NWA, say hello to my new bodyguard, Mr. Hughes!”
“Fabulous” Jackie Fargo vs. George South Fargo wins his singles debut with the Atomic Drop. After the match, we go to the studio area where Tony Schiavone is waiting with “The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith. Schiavone asks him what his plans are after his match against NWA World Heavyweight Champion Bryan Danielson last Sunday night. Davey Boy: “Plans. What are my plans? I want a rematch! I beat him from one end of the ring to the other, and the only way he escaped with that title was by getting himself disqualified! I want my rematch at the Great American Bash, and I want it No Holds Barred!” Just then, Smith and Schiavone were joined by none other than Magnum TA! Magnum: “First of all, Davey Boy, congratulations on your win and I couldn’t agree more that you deserve a rematch. But you’re going to have to get in line. And that line starts behind me! By winning my Best of 7 Series against Ivan Koloff, I earned a title shot at the Great American Bash! You’re welcome to the first shot against me once in the new champion!” As Davey Boy and Magnum glare at each other, out comes NWA GM Teddy Long! Long: “The way I see it, you’re both right! You both deserve that title shot at the Great American Bash! I’m going to come up with a way that’s fair to everyone!”
Bruiser Brody and “Lariat” Stan Hansen vs. Jeff Costa and The Masked Miser The devastating team of Brody and Hansen made its debut here, completely destroying the Masked Miser. Costa proved to be the smartest man in the arena by not tagging into the match at all. Hansen pinned Miser after a Lariat.
“The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith vs. Butcher Vachon w/JJ Dillon Davey Boy won with a gorilla press slam. After the bell, NWA World Heavyweight Champion “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson ran into the ring and attacked Smith, straddling his chest and driving nasty MMA elbows to the Bulldog. Davey Boy began to fight back and even got the advice, until Danielson’s stablemate Tully Blanchard hit the ring and the numbers game was too much for him. Danielson and Blanchard double teamed Bulldog while Dillon directed traffic. This went on until Magnum TA made the save! Magnum chased them all off with a chair as Davey Boy regained his feet. Both men grudgingly looked at each other before nodding and shaking hands. This brought out GM Teddy Long: “Since you gentlemen appear to be getting along while I’m deciding how to solve your contendership problems, you can continue that friendship next week, when you’ll face Bryan Danielson and Tully Blanchard...in a tag team match!”
“Crippler” Ray Stevens w/Bobby Heenan vs. Mad Dog Vachon w/JJ Dillon Stevens won with the Bombs Away finisher.
The Crusher vs. “The Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko This grudge match was made after last week’s initial meeting between these two, where Zbyszko may have used an exposed turnbuckle to his advantage. Zbyszko seemed to have this match won, but a brawl on the outside shifted things to Da Crush’s favor. One Crusher Bolo followed by a Crusher Nelson, and the Crusher gets his first win. As Zbyszko recovered, “The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and his bodyguard, Mr. Hughes, came to the ring. Hughes helped Zbyszko up and DiBiase leaned in close and said something to Zbyszko, who nodded, smiling. Both men shook hands and the three left together.
Gordon Solie: “Well, what in the world was that all about?” Jim Ross: “I have no idea, Gordon. And where the Billion Dollar Man is concerned, one can never tell!”
NWA TV Title Match Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Billy “Red” Lyons Blanchard seemed to learn something from his last meeting with Lyons, as he jumped him from the bell and never looked back. Blanchard won with the Slingshot Suplex in a matter of minutes.

NWA 32 WCW Saturday Night Center Stage Atlanta, Ga Saturday, July 14, 2018
The NWA presents WCW Saturday Night!!
The Bolsheviks (Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov) w/Comrade Albano vs. The Armstrongs (“Bullet” Bob and Brad) The Bolsheviks came out on top in this one when Volkoff pinned Brad after a Backbreaker Drop. After the bell, Albano congratulated his men and then called his other Russian, “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff, who hasn’t been seen since his grueling Chain Match against Magnum TA that concluded their epic Best of 7 Series. Koloff came out and joined his comrades, as Albano continued on the mic. Albano went into a tirade about how Koloff let them all down by losing the Series to Magnum, and made it even worse by shaking his hand at the end of Match 7! Albano got in Koloff’s face and continued to yell at him until the Russian Bear had had enough. Koloff grabbed Albano by the neck, only to be blindsided by the Bolsheviks! Koloff fought them both off for a few minutes until a man ran into the ring and hit him with a forearm! The Bolsheviks joined this newcomer in triple teaming Koloff while Albano egged them on. Albano got in Koloff’s face again as the Bolsheviks held him up: “Koloff! Let me introduce to you a man who won’t let his team or his country down, Alexis Smirnoff!” As the Bolsheviks continued to hold Koloff, Smirnoff delivered a vicious Heart Punch, laying the Russian Bear out! Albano and his Russians left the ring and Koloff needed to be carried out on a stretcher!
“Exotic” Adrian Street w/Miss Linda vs. George South Street was uncharacteristically all business, putting South away quickly with a Crucifix. After the match, he and Linda joined Tony Schiavone in the studio area. Gone was his usual flamboyance as he snatched the mic from Schiavone: “Buddy Rogers! You have a problem with me? That’s fine, we can settle that in the ring. But you put your hands on Miss Linda, and that’s not something I can allow! I’m challenging you to a match-anytime, anywhere, any type of stipulations! ‘Nature Boy?’ I’m going to show you the difference between a man and a boy!”
The Quebecers (Jacques Rougeau and Pierre Carl Oulette) vs. The Union Jacks (I and II) Jacques pinned Union Jack I after the Tower of Quebec. After the bell, Union Jack II helped his partner up and then leveled him with a vicious clothesline! He then delivers a bone crushing piledriver! II stands over his seemingly former partner, and then bends down and removes I’s mask, revealing...Johnny Saint! He then removes his own and reveals himself to be Dave Taylor! He then hoists Saint up and drills him into the mat with a British Suplex and leaves him lying in the center of the ring!
Johnny Mantel vs. Disco Inferno Inferno wins with the Last Dance.
The Vachons (Mad Dog and Butcher) w/JJ Dillon vs. The Blonde Bombers (Ray Stevens and Dr. Tom Prichard) w/Bobby Heenan As referee Tommy Young called for the bell, “The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and his bodyguard, Mr. Hughes walked to ringside. He pulled Heenan and Dillon aside and spoke to them while the Vachons and the Bombers looked on. After a few minutes, Heenan and Dillon signaled their men and all four shrugged and left the ring! Tommy Young began his ten count while all eight men walked to the backstage area together! He got to ten and called for the double countout while the studio audience looked on perplexed!
Jim Ross: “What the hell is going on here!?” Gordon Solie: “And more importantly, what did DiBiase say to them?” Jim Ross: “I don’t know, Gordon, but it’s got to be related to what he said to Zbyszko last week!”
Abdullah the Butcher w/“Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan vs. Jake “Milkman” Milliman Abdullah won a massacre with a karate thrust to the throat.
Magnum TA and “The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith vs. NWA World Heavyweight Champion “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson and NWA World Television Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon This grudge match was made last week after Magnum and Bulldog squared off against Dillon Enterprises. This match was chaos from the bell and stayed that way. It ended in a DQ win for Magnum and Bulldog when the other members of Dillon Enterprises, the Vachons, got involved. All five members of DE left Magnum and Bulldog beaten in the middle of the ring as GM Teddy Long comes out from backstage: “I was going to come out here and tell you my decision about who Bryan Danielson will be defending his title against at The Great American Bash, but it looks like the two challengers are unconscious, so I’ll make that announcement...next week!”

NWA 33 WCW Saturday Night Center Stage Atlanta, Ga Saturday, July 21, 2018
Jim Ross: “Welcome, folks to WCW Saturday Night! This is ‘JR’ Jim Ross, here with my broadcast partner, Gordon Solie!” Gordon Solie: “Thanks, Jim! What do you say we just get to the action in the ring?”
David Taylor vs. Jake “Milkman” Milliman Taylor wins a squash with his patented British Suplex. He then went over to the studio area to be interviewed by Tony Schiavone. Schiavone: “Dave Taylor, what do you have to say for yourself about the reprehensible behavior you exhibited last week? Turning on your partn-“ Taylor: “Turning on my partner? A partner carries his own weight! Johnny Saint did nothing but let me down and allow his team to continue to lose! But that will be the case no longer, because in just a few weeks, my new partner will make his debut! He’s an old teammate of mine and we will repeat the success we had as a team before!”
Alexis Smirnoff w/Comrade Albano vs. Brad Armstrong Smirnoff wins his NWA debut with the Heart Punch. After the bell, we go back to Schiavone, who’s standing by with “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers, who's ready to respond to Adrian Street’s challenge last week: Rogers: “Adrian Street. What a joke. He comes out here and runs his mouth and says he wants to get his hands on me? He challenges ME? Well, Mr.-and I use the term lightly-Street, you say any stipulation? How about this? We go to that very ring and fight it out, but the winner walks away with your ticket to the U.S. Title Championship Match! It’s time to put your money where your mouth is, and decide just how much the honor of your woman means to you!” Schiavone: “You heard it here first, folks: ‘The Nature Boy’ responds to Adrian Street’s challenge with a challenge of his own! Looks like the ball is back in your court, Adrian.”
The Rock n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) vs. Jeff Costa and George South The RnRs make quick work of Costa and South when Morton pinned South after a Double Dropkick.
Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan vs. “Sodbuster” Kenny Jay Another dud, Bockwinkel won by submission with the Figure Four Leglock.
NWA Television Title Match Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. “Bullet” Bob Armstrong Blanchard shocked Armstrong with a quick punch to the face and followed up with his Slingshot Suplex for a very long 2-count! Armstrong attempted a comeback, but never quite recovered. Blanchard put him away with a flying cross bodyblock from the top rope.
The Flying Redheads (Red Bastien and Billy “Red” Lyons) vs. The Quebecers (Jacques Rougeau and Pierre Carl Oulette) Lyons pinned Rougeau with a rolling reverse cradle, but the fight continued after the bell. GM Teddy Long came out and made a match for The Great American Bash: The Flying Redheads vs. The Quebecers in a Texas Tornado Match!
“Lariat” Stan Hansen vs. “Bamm Bamm” Terry Gordy w/“Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan This match (if it can be called that) ended how you’d expect it to, in a double DQ. Both men brawled all over the ringside area, but it didn’t take long for Gordy’s tag team partner, Jimmy Snuka to get involved, and that brought out Hansen’s partner, Bruiser Brody! All four men brawled while the ref tried to gain control of a match he never really controlled in the first place.
After some semblance of order was restored, WCW GM Teddy Long comes to the ring with a mic: “Listen up, wrestling fans, because we have a lot to talk about! First of all, I just spoke to ‘Exotic’ Adrian Street backstage, and he has agreed to ‘Nature Boy’ Buddy Rogers’ terms! The two will wrestle, with the winner getting the match against Bruiser Brody at the Great American Bash to become the first ever United States champion! “The Great American Bash will also see the return of ‘The Russian Bear’ Ivan Koloff! And he will face Alexis Smirnoff in a match where the other Bolsheviks will be banned from ringside! “Now, on to the next piece of business. The four men that were just destroying our very expensive set with their fighting, the Army of Darkness will go head-to-head against Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody for the WCW World Tag Team Championship! That’s right! Bruiser Brody will be working double duty, but will have a shot at winning both the U.S. Championship and the Tag Team Championship! “And now, the thing everyone here is dying to know: who will Bryan Danielson defend his WCW World Heavyweight Championship against? Will it be ‘The British Bulldog’ Davey Boy Smith? Or will it be Magnum TA? At this time, I would like all three men to come to the ring.” Bulldog, Magnum, and finally, Danielson (accompanied by his manager, JJ Dillon, of course) came to the ring. Long ran down recent events: “Now, British Bulldog, you believe that you should get the next shot at the title because you won your last title shot when the champ, with the help of his manager, purposely got himself disqualified to save his title.” Davey Boy nods as the fans cheer. “And Magnum, you think you should get the next title shot because it was promised to you for winning the Best of 7 Series against Ivan Koloff.” Magnum also nods in the affirmative, and also gets cheers from the fans. “Here’s the thing, playas. You’re both right! So what are we going to do? I’ll tell you what we’re going to do: At the Great American Bash, ‘The American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson will defend his title against Magnum TA” the crowd cheers as Long continues, “AND the British Bulldog...in a Triple Threat Match!” Danielson and Dillon came unglued as Long continued, “And Danielson, just to make sure it’s fair? It will be an elimination match!”
Ross: “Wow, Gordon! That’s quite a few huge announcements!” Solie: “Yessir, we’ll see you all next Saturday for WCW Saturday Night!” Ross: “And don’t miss the Great American Bash, a week from tomorrow!”

NWA 34 WCW Saturday Night Center Stage Atlanta, Ga Saturday, July 28, 2018
The NWA presents WCW Saturday Night!!
Jim Ross: “Welcome, fans, to WCW Saturday Night! We’ve got a great show lined up for you tonight, as this is the last show before tomorrow night’s Great American Bash!” Gordon Solie: “Absolutely right, Jim! We’ve got so much action lined up tonight, let’s just go to the ring!”
Dave Taylor vs. The Killer Bee Taylor beats the masked man with a Dragon Sleeper. After the bell, an angry Johnny Saint hits the ring and he and Taylor brawl until security separates them.
“The Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko w/“The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and Mr. Hughes vs. The Crusher Da Crush wins with the Crusher Bolo. DiBiase and Mr. Hughes look disappointed in Zbyszko after the bell and DiBiase gets on the mic and tells Zbyszko to stick around and see how it’s done.
“The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase w/Mr. Hughes vs. Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake Beefcake started out a house on fire with rights and lefts and a big neckbreaker before DiBiase reversed an Irish whip. DiBiase never looks back and wins with a backbreaker. DiBiase then tells Zbyszko he will show him more tomorrow night at the Great American Bash when he defeats the Crusher for him!
“Fabulous” Jackie Fargo vs. “Sodbuster” Kenny Jay Fargo wins a quick one with an Atomic Drop. He then signals for Tony Schiavone to come to the ring and announces that he will accept Nick Bockwinkel’s open challenge for the Great American Bash!
Robert Gibson vs. Dr. Tom Prichard w/Bobby Heenan Gibson wins with an Enzuigiri.
Ross: “Shockingly, there was no interference from either man’s tag team partner, Dean.” Solie: “They must all be saving themselves for their 2/3 Falls match tomorrow night at the Great American Bash!”
NWA TV Title Match Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Disco Inferno Blanchard continues his dominance, handing Disco his first loss in seconds with a Slingshot Suplex.
Winner Gets the U.S. Title Shot at the Great American Bash “The Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers vs. “Exotic” Adrian Street w/Miss Linda The normally calm and collected Street hit the ring on fire and attacked Rogers before the bell. The match started as a brawl, but Rogers eventually turned it into a wrestling match. Rogers wore Street down with dropkicks, punches and forearms before missing a deathjump. Street then gained the upper hand until mysterious woman strutted down the aisle and hopped up on the ring apron. Street’s attention was diverted for only an instant, but that’s all the opening The Nature Boy needed. He delivered a jumping knee smash to Street and followed up with the Figure Four Grapevine for the submission win!
Ross: “Buddy Rogers will face Bruiser Brody tomorrow night to decide the very first WCW United States Champion!” Solie: “I think we saw this one coming. Tony Schiavone is heading to the ring to talk to the Nature Boy now.”
Schiavone: “Mr. Rogers, you’ve just punched your ticket to the Great American Bash to face Bruiser Brody for the vacant U.S. title! What do you have to say about-“ Rogers: “Oh, shut up and hold the microphone, Schiavone. First of all, let me introduce to you my new manager, Melina!” The mysterious woman that had distracted Street joined Rogers in the ring! “Schiavone, with my skills in the ring and Melina’s brains backing me up, Brody doesn’t stand a chance. Less of a chance than this idiot, Adrian Street, that I lured in hook, line, and sinker! I almost feel sorry for the way I took advantage of Street’s weakness. And now, Melina and I have discovered Brody’s weakness and by this time tomorrow, I will be the WCW U.S. Champion! And to a nicer guy it couldn’t happen!”
Magnum TA and “The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith vs. The Vachon Brothers (Mad Dog and Butcher) w/JJ Dillon Magnum and Davey Boy will be the challengers for Bryan Danielson’s WCW World Heavyweight Championship in a Triple Threat match tomorrow night, but tonight they are teaming up against Danielson’s stablemates, the Vachon Brothers! The Vachons were the more cohesive team, but Magnum and Bulldog made up for that in sheer intensity. However, in the end, Danielson came to the ring and smacked Magnum right in the face! Magnum chased Danielson to the back, but this left Davey Boy to face the Vachons alone! The numbers game was just too much for him, and Mad Dog pinned him after a nasty Piledriver.
Ross: “Wow, Gordon, the Bulldog is not going to be happy with Magnum after this...” Solie: “Well, he’s going to have a chance to voice his displeasure tomorrow night at the Great American Bash!” Ross and Solie then run down the matches for tomorrow night’s cars at the Great American Bash:

NWA 35 The Great American Bash 2018 The Omni Atlanta, Ga Sunday, July 29, 2018
The NWA and WCW present The Great American Bash!!
Jim Ross: “Welcome, folks and thanks for joining us here on PPV! I’m Jim Ross and I’m here with my broadcast partner, the ‘Dean’ of professional wrestling, Gordon Solie!” Gordon Solie: “Thank you, Jim, and we’ve got such a great show lined up for you that we’re going to open up with the crowning of our very first WCW United States Champion!”
WCW U.S. Title Match “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers w/Melina vs. Bruiser Brody This match was placed to open the show because Brody is pulling double duty tonight, also competing for the WCW World Tag Team Championship later tonight! Brody dominated the early goings of the match, bouncing Rogers all over the ring, but Rogers bailed and regrouped with Melina. After a missed turnbuckle charge, Brody was ripe for the pickings and Rogers worked the leg, setting him up for the dreaded Figure Four Grapevine. Late in the match, Brody rallied and went for his Flying Knee Drop, but Melina shook the top rope while Rogers distracted the ref. Brody crashed and burned and Rogers won with a pin using the ropes to become the first NWA U.S. Champion! Stan “The Lariat” Hansen came to the ring to help his partner up and get him ready for their tag title shot later in the evening. Tony Schiavone comes to ringside to talk to the new U.S. Champion:
Tony Schiavone: “‘Nature Boy,’ I guess congratulations are in order on becoming the very first WCW United States Champion!” Rogers: “You guess? You guess? Schiavone, why don’t I just take the guesswork right outta the program for you. I’m the U.S. Champion, just like I said I’d be. Melina and I outsmarted that little flower, Adrian Street, and now we’ve outsmarted that musclebound fool, Brody. I AM the United States Champion, and time a nicer guy, it couldn’t-“
Rogers is interrupted by a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt jumping over the barricade and attacking him. At first it appeared to be an unruly fan, but when the hood falls away...
Ross: “It’s Adrian Street! Adrian Street has heard enough and he is here to let the Nature Boy know it!” Street and Rogers brawled until security separated them.
Johnny Saint vs. David Taylor Taylor seemed to have the match won when Saint got him with the Johnny Saint Special and the 1-2-3 out of nowhere! Saint bailed and took off up the aisle before Taylor could retaliate.
Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan vs. “Fabulous” Jackie Fargo Bockwinkel and Heenan strutted to the ring all smiles, looking like this might be an easy night. When Fargo hit the ring, however, it was a different story. Fargo took the fight to Bockwinkel and put 8 unanswered tokens on him! However, he couldn’t put Bockwinkel away, and after some interference by Heenan, Bockwinkel won with the Figure Four Leglock. Amazing come from behind victory by Bockwinkel, if not slightly tainted by Heenan.
Texas Tornado Match The Quebecers (Jacques Rougeau and Pierre Carl Oulette) vs. The Flying Redheads (Red Bastien and Billy “Red” Lyons) This match was all over the place, as all four men were in action the entire time. In the end, Lyons put Oulette away with the Sleeper Hold, giving the Redheads the win! Backstage, we see The Crusher laid out unconscious, with the Rock n Roll Express, Johnny Saint, The British Bulldog, and Magnum TA attempting to help him up. No one seems to know what happened...
“The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff vs. Alexis Smirnoff w/Comrade Albano The fans seemed confused by this match, as Koloff has been one of the most hated wrestlers in the business for years, but they were squarely in his corner based on his treatment at the hands of Smirnoff and the Bolsheviks. Koloff still had his chest heavily wrapped, but tore into Smirnoff in revenge for the Heart Punch that out him on the shelf for nearly a month, firing off punches and kicks. Late in the match, things had spilled outside of the ring, and Albano got involved. Koloff chased him into the ring and the crowd went crazy when Koloff got him cornered against the turnbuckle. Unfortunately for Koloff and the crowd, there was no payoff, as the Bolsheviks attacked! Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov hit the ring and began to pound on Koloff, as the ref called for the bell. Koloff won by DQ, but that’s where the good news ended for him. The Bolsheviks hoisted him up and held him while the now recovered Smirnoff drilled him with a measured Heart Punch! The Russians weren’t done, as Albano ordered them to do it again! The second Heart Punch left Koloff in a broken heap in the center of the ring.
2/3 Falls Match The Rock n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) vs. The Blonde Bombers (Ray “Crippler” Stevens and Dr. Tom Prichard) w/Bobby Heenan The Bombers completely dominated this match (they put 10 tokens on the Express without receiving a single token themselves!), but got a little carried away. The Rock n Roll Express won by DQ when Stevens gave Morton a Piledriver through a table on the outside. This seemed to be an intentional strategy by the Bombers, as this took Morton almost completely out of the match, leaving Gibson in a 2-on-1 fight for the remaining two falls. The numbers game wore Gibson down, with Prichard taking the fall with an Enzuigiri. The Bombers continued to double team Gibson in the third fall until he made the hot tag to the bloody Morton, who hit the ring on fire, but was eventually stopped and put away with another Stevens Piledriver. The Bombers walk away with the W, while Morton was carted off in a neck brace on a backboard.
“The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase w/Mr. Hughes and “The Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko vs. The Crusher DiBiase and his entourage stood in the center of the ring, laughing, as it was announced that the Crusher was in no condition to wrestle tonight, and that DiBiase would be awarded the victory via forfeit. As DiBiase started to exit the ring, WCW GM Teddy Long appeared at the top of the ramp: Teddy Long: “Not so fast, playa! Now, I might not be able to prove that you had anything to do with whatever happened to Crusher tonight, but what I can do is find a suitable replacement to wrestle you right here, right now! These fans paid to see you wrestle tonight and I have someone in mind for you! You might say he’s the PERFECT replacement!” Curt Hennig hit the ring to a huge ovation while DiBiase and his flunkies argued with Long.
“The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase w/Mr. Hughes and “The Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko vs. “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig Hennig started the match fast and furious with DiBiase bumping all over the ring. Eventually, DiBiase slowed things down after a swinging neckbreaker. DiBiase methodically worked the neck and had the match well in hand when he whipped Hennig into the ropes for a big backdrop. Hennig, however, saw his opening and reversed the back drop attempt into his Perfect Plex and got the shock 1-2-3! DiBiase argued with the ref while Hennig made his way to the back.
WCW World Tag Team Championship Match Champions The Army of Darkness (Jimmy Snuka and Terry Gordy) w/“Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan vs. Bruiser Brody and “The Lariat” Stan Hansen This match was exactly as expected. It was a brawl between four monsters that went all over the ringside area. At one point, WCW GM Teddy Long sent a second referee to the ring to be an outside enforcer as there was as much action on the outside as there was in the ring. All four men were a bloody mess by the time this was over. The AOD retained in a chaotic brawl that ended when Gordy pinned Hansen after a Power Bomb.
WCW World Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Elimination Match Champion “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson w/JJ Dillon vs. “The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith vs. Magnum TA Danielson started out as the typical heel, hanging back and letting Bulldog and Magnum soften each other up and waiting for his opening. But when the champ saw his opening, he definitely capitalized. Danielson eliminated Magnum after some nasty MMA Elbows. Now a one-on-one matchup, Danielson and the Bulldog went round and round for nearly ten minutes before Bulldog nearly knocked himself unconscious after a missed clothesline in the corner. Danielson rolled him up with an inside cradle and got the win!
Ross: “Not only did Danielson win this match, he eliminated both men himself!” Solie: “Certainly a dominant performance by the champion tonight!” Ross: “That’s our show, folks! See you this weekend on WCW Saturday Night!”

WCW 36 WCW Saturday Night Center Stage Atlanta, Ga Saturday, August 4, 2018
The NWA presents WCW Saturday Night!!
“Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig vs. Jake “Milkman” Milliman Hennig evidently is not getting paid by the hour, as he wins quickly with the Perfect Plex. Tony Schiavone then enters the ring to interview Mr. Perfect:
Schiavone: “Folks, I’m here with ‘Mr. Perfect’ Curt Hennig. Curt, you surprised everyone by showing up at the Great American Bash, and nobody was more surprised than ‘The Billion Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase!” Hennig: “Well, Tony, I’m here to make an impact, and what better way to make an impact than by shutting the big mouth of a billionaire? Now that DiBiase is in the rear view, I’m ready to move on to Buddy Rogers and Bryan Danielson, to take...” Hennig is interrupted by the huge form of DiBiase’s bodyguard, Mr. Hughes, jumping in the ring and hitting him from behind! Hughes beat Hennig down until DiBiase joined him, along with his newest lackey, Larry Zbyszko. Hughes and Zbyszko held Hennig up while DiBiase slapped him several times and then stuffed a $100 bill into his mouth. All three men left the ring laughing.
The Bolsheviks (Alexis Smirnoff, Nikolai Volkoff, and Boris Zhukov) w/Comrade Albano vs. Too Cool (Brian Christopher and Scotty 2 Hotty) and “Cowboy” Johnny Mantell The Russians win when Volkoff makes Mantell submit to the bear hug.
“Exotic” Adrian Street w/Miss Linda vs. George South Street beat South quickly with a neckbreaker.
The Armstrongs (“Bullet” Bob and Brad) vs. The Vachon Brothers (Mad Dog and Butcher) w/JJ Dillon The Vachons looked like they were out to prove a point, as they completely destroyed the Armstrongs. Butcher pinned Bob after a Quadruple Foot Stomp.
Bruiser Brody vs. Abdullah the Butcher w/“Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan Brody’s war against Sullivan’s Army of Darkness continues, as Abdullah the Butcher became the next monster Sullivan threw at him. These two wild men brawled all over the ringside area before Brody accidentally decked a referee when swinging at the Butcher. Abdullah won by DQ, but the real story took place after the bell. Both men continued to brawl, and Sullivan attempted to sneak up on Brody with his Golden Spike! Brody caught him and grabbed him by the neck, but before he could do anything, was attacked from behind by a masked man! It’s Mil Muertes! Muertes delivered a nasty powerbomb and then he and Abdullah put the boots to Brody as we cut to commercial.
WCW TV Title Match Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. David Taylor Blanchard wins pretty quickly with the Slingshot Suplex.
#1 Contenders Match The Flying Redheads (Red Bastien and Billy “Red” Lyons) vs. The Blonde Bombers (Ray “Crippler” Stevens and Dr. Tom Prichard) w/Bobby Heenan This match was mostly 50/50, until “The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and his bodyguard came to the ring and joined Heenan at ringside. This was more distraction than the Redheads could handle. Stevens pinned Lyons after a Crippling Piledriver. Heenan and DiBiase laughed and celebrated in the ring.
Ross: “The Blonde Bombers are the #1 Contenders for the tag team championship!”
Solie: “That’s right, Jim! They will face the Army of Darkness at Bash At the Beach!”
