The self proclaimed Living Legend wins his NWA debut with a Piledriver.
“Exotic” Adrian Street w/Miss Linda vs. “Sodbuster” Kenny Jay
Street made short work of Jay, beating him with a Crucifix. After the match, NWA announcers Jim Ross and Gordon Solie remind viewers that Street, by winning BattleBowl, he’s qualified for the U.S. Title match at The Great American Bash, with his opponent being named in just a few short weeks, the winner of the Bunkhouse Stampede! As a preview of what to expect at the Bunkhouse Stampede, there will be a 10-Man Battle Royal later tonight!

NWA World Television Championship Match
Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Johnny Mantell
Blanchard successfully defended his title in the opener, winning with the Slingshot Suplex. After the bell, his manager, JJ Dillon joined him in the ring and called out his other client and current NWA World Heavyweight Champion, “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson! Dillon announced the formation of Dillon Enterprises, consisting of Blanchard, Danielson, and his newest acquisition, the tag team of The Vachon Brothers, Maurice “Mad Dog” Vachon, and Paul “Butcher” Vachon! He announces that Blanchard and the Vachons will be throwing their hats in the ring with Bruiser Brody to compete in the Bunkhouse Stampede! He adds that since a suitable challenger has not been named, it looks like Danielson will have the night off!
The Flying Redheads (Red Bastien and Billy “Red” Lyons vs. George South and Jake “Milkman” Milliman
The debuting Redheads make short work of South and Milliman, when Bastien pinned Milliman after a flying dropkick.
Nick Bockwinkel and Bobby Heenan vs. Lenny Lane
Another man debuting since the AWA folded, Nick Bockwinkel shocked the crowd, coming to the ring with Bobby Heenan! Bockwinkel makes short work of Lane, making him submit to the Figure Four Leglock. After the match, Tony Schiavone made the announcement that it’s his understanding that the championship committee has selected the perfect opponent for Bryan Danielson at Bunkhouse Stampede! As he continues, Heenan and Bockwinkel interrupt Schiavone, declaring that Bockwinkel was indeed the perfect opponent for any titleholder! He also leaves Schiavone and the audience in suspense when he says “And JJ Dillon isn’t the only one introducing new tag teams around here! I’ll be debuting my new team next week!”
The Bolsheviks (Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov) w/Comrade Albano vs. The Armstrongs (Bob and Brad)
This match was all over the place and finally ended in a Double Disqualification. Schiavone announced that instead of letting these four men settle their differences in a match at Bunkhouse Stampede, all four of them will be participating in the actual Stampede match! JJ Dillon once again strolls out to the interview studio area, much to the chagrin of both Schiavone and the audience: “Schiavone, I’m out here for two reasons: first, if Bobby Heenan wants to come out here and run that fancy Beverly Hills mouth of his, we can take care of that next week! My men, the Vachons, are challenging your new tag team, sight unseen, to a match right here next week! And second, if Nick Bockwinkel is the opponent you eluded to earlier, Schiavone, the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Bryan Danielson isn’t afraid of him. But whatever the case, Heenan, Bockwinkel, mystery tag team? You’re all going to see just how powerful Dillon Enterprises is!”

Champions The Army of Darkness (Terry Gordy and Jimmy Snuka) w/Kevin Sullivan vs. The Union Jacks (I and II)
The Army of Darkness won this one quite easily, with Snuka pinning Union Jack I after the Eternal Darkness. Snuka and Gordy, along with their manager, Kevin Sullivan, went over to Schiavone in the studio area, but chased off Schiavone and grabbed his mic: “Bruiser Brody! If you have the guts, come out here and face us! I know you won’t, because-“ Sullivan stops talking when he sees Brody emerge from behind the curtain. “Well, Brody, apparently you’re as dumb as you look. I’m here to tell you that you should have been careful what you wished for; both of these men just signed contracts to be in the Bunkhouse Stampede! And their goal isn’t even to win. It’s to destroy you! And as if they’re not enough, I’ve got a special surprise for you...I’ve signed a new member of the Army of Darkness, and he will he in the Bunkhouse Stampede as well! Your days are numbered, my friend!” Brody shrugged, as if one more person out to get him was business as usual.

Rogers won quickly with a Figure Four Grapevine and headed to the interview area where Tony Schiavone was waiting: “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome ‘The Nature Boy’ Buddy Rogers,” (Chorus of boos!) “I understand that you have an announcement for us tonight?”
Rogers: “Yeah, I have an announcement, all right: tomorrow night is the Bunkhouse Stampede, and you’re looking at the winner. After I win that, I’ll go on to the Great American Bash and destroy that delicate little flower, Adrian Street, to become the first NWA United States Champion! And maybe, just maybe, Miss Linda will have a chance to be with a real man for a change!”
Boris Zhukov w/Comrade Albano and Nikolai Volkoff vs. Brad Armstrong w/“Bullet” Bob Armstrong
Zhukov won with the Soviet Slam.
NWA TV Title Match
Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Billy “Red” Lyons
Lyons wins by DQ when the ref caught Dillon passing Blanchard a foreign object. A rematch is made for next week’s show! After the match, Dillon is joined by his tag team, The Vachon Brothers, and they join Schiavone in the studio area, where Dillon challenges Bobby Heenan to come out. Heenan arrives, answering Dillon’s challenge. “I’m here, humanoid. And rather than listen to your garbage, I’m just going to say this: since you want to make this about Nick Bockwinkel and that little paper champion of yours, we can make this a six-man tag tonight!”
Dillon: “Well, hold on now, Heenan. You haven’t even introduced your tag team yet!”
Heenan: “Here’s my team: at a combined weight of 450 lbs, from Beverly Hills, California, ‘Crippler’ Ray Stevens and Dr. Tom Prichard, the Blonde Bombers!”
The two men emerge from the backstage area and immediately begin to brawl with the Vachons, while the fans look on, not knowing who to boo and who to cheer for! This brings out both NWA Champion Bryan Danielson and Nick Bockwinkel, both looking to protect their stablemates. The locker room empties to separate these six men as we cut to commercial.
“The Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko vs. The Crusher
Crusher, another wrestler to make the move to the NWA after the AWA closed its doors, makes his debut here, just as Zbyszko did two weeks ago. During the match, announcers Jim Ross and Gordon Solie announced that both men would be participating in tomorrow night’s Bunkhouse Stampede. Zbyszko won with a Piledriver after knocking Crusher silly on the exposed turnbuckle. After the bell, Tony Schiavone tells both the studio and home audiences that he has a special announcement to make: “Ladies and gentlemen, we were going to wait until tomorrow night at the Bunkhouse Stampede to make this announcement, but in light of the chaos that ensued before the commercial break, it’s been decided that now would be the best time. Fans, let me introduce to you, the new GM of the NWA, Teddy Long!”
Long came out to a relatively indifferent response, but quickly got the fans on his side when he announced that tonight’s main event will be a six-man tag team match: Danielson and the Vachons vs. Bockwinkel and the Blonde Bombers!

“The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff w/Comrade Albano vs. Magnum TA
Magnum was in control for the majority of this match and seemed to have the match and the series within his grasp when Albano jumped up on the apron. As the ref dealt with him, Koloff’s ally, Nikolai Volkoff threw Koloff’s chain into the ring! Unfortunately for Koloff, Magnum intercepted it and clobbered Koloff with it, as the ref turned around! He calls for the bell and the immediate DQ, giving Koloff the win! We go to a Match 7 tomorrow night at the Bunkhouse Stampede!
Special 6-Man Tag Challenge Match
NWA World Heavyweight Champion “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson and the Vachon Brothers (Mad Dog and Butcher) w/JJ Dillon vs. Nick Bockwinkel and The Hollywood Blondes (“Crippler” Ray Stevens and Dr. Tom Prichard) w/Bobby Heenan
Danielson and the Vachons won when Danielson pinned Stevens after a Regalplex. Dillon, laughing, grabbed a mic: “Heenan! Bockwinkel! I told you we’d beat you here tonight! Now it looks like the Champ gets tomorrow night off, because-“ Dillon is interrupted by GM Teddy Long: “JJ, Nick Bockwinkel was never the challenger. Schiavone told you that the championship committee had found a challenger, and you and your man will find out tomorrow night at The Bunkhouse Stampede! Believe that, playa!” Dillon and Danielson look incensed as we go off the air!
See you tomorrow night at the Bunkhouse Stampede!

Disco Inferno vs. Jake “Milkman” Milliman
Disco Inferno won his NWA debut with a swinging neckbreaker.
The Flying Redheads (Red Bastien and Billy “Red” Lyons) vs. The Quebecers (Jacques Rougeau and Pierre Carl Oulett)
The Redheads battle the debuting Quebecers to a Double Countout as all four men brawled on the outside.
“Exotic” Adrian Street w/Miss Linda vs. The Killer Bee
Street seemed to have this masked man’s number, until “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers strutted down to ringside. Street was obviously distracted by Rogers, not knowing if he’d interfere. Rogers, however, didn’t seem at all interested in Street and headed straight for Miss Linda, planting a kiss on her! Street was incensed and went after Rogers, only to walk into a nasty Dropkick from the Killer Bee! The masked man hooked the leg and got the 1-2-3! After the bell, Rogers left, laughing.
The Blonde Bombers (Ray “Crippler” Stevens and Dr. Tom Prichard) w/Bobby Heenan vs. Too Cool (Brian Christopher and Scotty Taylor)
The Bombers won their tag team debut when Stevens hit his Bombs Away on Taylor.

“The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff w/Comrade Albano vs. Magnum TA
After the introductions were made, new NWA GM Teddy Long came to the ring: “Gentlemen, first of all, I’d like to congratulate you both for a great series I’d matches, and I, and all these fans, would like to thank you for making it one hell of a series. But...it wouldn’t really be the climactic ending we all deserve if this was just a normal match, now would it? And need I remind everyone just exactly what is on the line here? An NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match? That’s why we’re going to throw some added excitement into this match. And since y’all like to play with chains, let’s make it...A Chain Match! Oh, and ‘Comrade’ Albano? You’re banned from ringside!” Albano goes postal until Long threatens to have security escort him from the building.
Magnum and Koloff are linked together by the chain that will settle this feud once and for all. Both men left it all in the ring (except for several minutes that wound up on the outside), and both were a bloody mess by the end of the match. In the end, Magnum clotheslined Koloff with the chain and then hoisted him up for the Belly to Belly Suplex and the 1-2-3! Your winner of the match and the Best of 7 Series, earning a shot at the NWA title, Magnum TA! After the match, a bloody Koloff grabbed Magnum by the elbow and spun him around and, after a moment’s hesitation, shook his hand and raised it in victory before storming off!
NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match
Champion “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson w/JJ Dillon vs. Mystery Opponent
After Dillon and the champion got to the ring, GM Teddy Long made his next appearance, introducing his first signee as GM, and Danielson’s opponent, “The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith!
Smith arrives to a huge ovation, while Danielson and Dillon protest that they hadn’t been allowed the time to prepare for this challenger. Smith takes advantage of the chaos and takes the fight to Danielson, bouncing him all over the ring with power moves. Danielson was definitely off his game, as the Bulldog held the advantage for nearly the entire match (Smith put 7 tokens on Danielson!), but the Champion showed why he’s the champ, using one of the champion’s advantages to save his title, or more importantly, Dillon did. When Smith hoisted Danielson up for the Running Power Slam, Dillon ran into the ring and hit the Bulldog with a chair! The ref called for the bell while Smith went after Dillon! With the Bulldog’s back turned, Danielson finally got the advantage and hit him with Dillon’s discarded chair! He then began to drill him with MMA elbows until new #1 contender, Magnum TA arrived and chased off Danielson and Dillon. He helped Smith to his feet and the two shook hands.

There were many surprises in this match, starting with multiple debuts and returns! Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake made his NWA return, terrifying the other competitors with his oversized shears! “Fabulous” Jackie Fargo made his debut here, as well as “Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan revealing his surprise for Bruiser Brody, Abdullah the Butcher! Forks, garden shears, chains, bull whips, and folding chairs were all brought into the barbed wire wrapped ring, but the real story here was Bruiser Brody and the Army of Darkness. Gordy, Snuka, and Abdullah acted as a devastating three man unit focused on Brody, until Abdullah was eliminated by a sneak dropkick from Bob Armstrong. This gave Brody the opening he needed to mount a comeback.
Other drama in the match included an angry Adrian Street running in and slamming a chair over the head of Buddy Rogers, leading to his elimination. Ted DiBiase brought his bodyguard, Rodney into the ring to help him eliminate Ricky Morton, but Morton ducked Rodney’s clothesline, which nearly decapitated DiBiase and lead to him being eliminated as well. In the end, it was the Brody/Army of Darkness show, as they eliminated nearly everyone else. Brody eliminated Gordy, while Snuka eliminated Zhukov, making them the last men standing.
As Snuka and Brody circled the ring, stalking each other, both men bleeding profusely, the eliminated members of the Army of Darkness jumped back into the ring! All three men circled Brody until a man hit the ring through the crowd and laid out Abdullah and Snuka with Lariats before anyone realized what was going on! Brody delivered a big boot to Gordy and turned to the man-it’s “The Lariat” Stan Hansen! Brody picked up the unconscious Snuka and tossed him over the barbed wire to win the match and the chance to wrestle for the U.S. Title next month at the Great American Bash! A bloody Brody looks into the camera and says, “Sullivan! Do you honestly think I’d come here and not have insurance of my own! Now I’m going to take that U.S. Title and then, Hansen and I are going to take the tag titles from your Army or Darkness!”
