Prichard pinned Christopher after a Rocket Launcher.

King Kong Bundy w/Bobby Heenan vs. Frank Dalton
Bundy made short work of Dalton, pinning him after the Atlantic City Avalanche, and demanded a 5-count. The real story, however, was how irate Bundy got when the fans chanted “You got knocked out,” referring to his loss to “Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant a few weeks ago.

NWA World Television Championship Match
Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Union Jack #1
Blanchard dominated the majority of the match, beating #1 with the Slingshot Suplex. Tony Schiavone comes to the ring to give the rundown on tomorrow night’s PPV, Battlebowl: The Lethal Lottery!
Schiavone: “The way Battlebowl works is this: 32 men will be split, at random, into 16 tag teams. These 16 teams will square off in 8 tag team matches, with the 8 winning teams moving on to a battle royal at the end of the night! In the Battlebowl battle royal, the teams no longer exist, as it’s every man for himself! Due to the random nature of the Lethal Lottery, you may have allies going against each other. You may have enemies having to team up. Now, the winner of that battle royal will go on to have a slot in a match in July’s Great American Bash to become the first ever NWA United States Champion! The other slot will be filled by the man that wins next month’s PPV, the Bunkhouse Stampede!”

“Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant vs. George South
Valiant beat South with the Boogie Woogie Elbow, but after the match, a visibly angry King Kong Bundy hit the ring and attacked Valiant. Bundy hit his big Avalanche in the corner and then followed up with three nasty big splashes on the mat, leaving Valiant in a heap.

Diamond Dallas Page vs. “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce
Pearce was in the process of systematically destroying DDP when DDP hit the Diamond Cutter out of nowhere! DDP made the cover and got the hard earned 1-2-3.

Lou Thesz vs. The Masked Superstar w/Bobby Heenan
Superstar won a huge upset with the Swinging Neckbreaker, but not without controversy. Thesz was clearly in control, but towards the end of the match, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Bryan Danielson’s manager, JJ Dillon came to ringside. Dillon jumped up on the apron, drawing in the referee. Danielson then appeared from the crowd and drilled Thesz in the head with his title belt. He rolled out and Superstar hit the Swinging Neckbreaker for the shocking 1-2-3! Danielson yelled at Thesz, “There’s that title shot you wanted! See you at Battlebowl!”

RVD and #1 advance when RVD pinned South after a Five Star Frog Splash.

Brad Armstrong and Ricky Morton vs. Robert Gibson and Luke Williams
Jim Ross notes that he didn’t know which was more odd, a member of the Rock n Roll Express teaming with a Sheepherder, or the members of the Express being on opposite side of the ring! Morton and Armstrong move on when Morton pinned Williams after a Double Dropkick.

Rodney and Boris Zhukov vs. Brian Christopher and Jerry Lynn
Lynn pinned Zhukov after a Cradle Piledriver.

“Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers and Bruiser Brody vs. Union Jack #2 and Magnum TA
Shockingly, Rogers and Brody worked as a fairly cohesive unit. Rogers made #2 submit to the Figure Four Grapevine while Brody kept Magnum from making the save.

Masked Superstar and “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff vs. Nikolai Volkoff and Tully Blanchard
An interesting all-heel matchup saw two of the Russians on opposite sides of the ring. Superstar made Volkoff tap to the Cobra Hold.

“Exotic” Adrian Street and “The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase vs. Scotty 2 Hotty and “Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant
DiBiase and Street, an odd pairing if there ever was one, advance by countout when DiBiase hit Scotty with a vertical Suplex on the outside.

King Kong Bundy and Butch Miller vs. Diamond Dallas Page and Terry Gordy
DDP pinned Miller after a Diamond Cutter. After the bell Bundy decided to punish his partner for the loss, but DDP charged back into the ring and delivered a Diamond Cutter out of nowhere!

“Superfly” Jimmy Snuka and “Suicide Blonde” Chris Candido vs. Dr. Tom Prichard and “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce
Prichard pinned his own partner after an Enzuigiri, and then had to get him out of the ring, away from an angry Snuka.

NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match
Champion “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. Lou Thesz
After the buildup since the cage match and Money In the Bank cash-in at Spring Stampede, the crowd was hot for this match. The match started with some amazing technical wrestling, but Danielson shocked everyone when he rolled Thesz up out of nowhere for the 1-2-3! Danielson retained with a small package.

He was hiding on the outside and biding his time! Your winner and the first to qualify for the U.S. Title match, “Exotic” Adrian Street! Street and Linda hightailed it out of the ring before Rogers could get his revenge!

The NWA presents WCW Saturday Night!!

The show begins with “Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan and his Army of Darkness (Bruiser Brody, Sinn Bodhi, and the NWA Tag Team Champions, Terry Gordy and Jimmy Snuka) standing in the ring, Sullivan with a microphone. He immediately began to berate Brody for failing in his latest chance to bring a title to the AOD, losing in Battlebowl. Sullivan reminds Brody that he warned him that there would be consequences if he didn’t win, and draws his Golden Spike from inside his robe. Brody lashed out, attacking Sullivan! Before he could get his hands on the Taskmaster, however, the rest of the AOD cut him off. Snuka, Gordy and Bodhi jumped Brody, but the former world champion wasn’t going down without a fight. He laid out Bodhi with a big boot, and turned his attention to the tag champs, but they were more than one man could handle. Snuka and Gordy held him down while Sullivan drilled Brody in the head with the dreaded Golden Spike! The scene turned so bloody that Ross and Solie cut to commercial.

Brad Armstrong vs. George South
South charges Armstrong, who sidesteps him and quickly delivers the Russian Leg Sweep for the 1-2-3 in seconds!

“Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers vs. Jake “Milkman‘ Milliman
Another squash, as Rogers took out his anger at Adrian Street on Milliman, torturing him until finally making him tap to the Figure Four Grapevine.

The Bolsheviks (Nikolai Volkoff And Boris Zhukov) w/Comrade Albano vs. The Union Jacks
The Russians get a hard fought win when Volkoff pinned #2 with a Backbreaker Drop.

“The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase w/Rodney vs. Brian Christopher
DiBiase won quickly with the Billion Dollar Dream.

“Exotic” Adrian Street w/Miss Linda vs. Jerry Lynn
About halfway through the match, Buddy Rogers swaggered down to ringside. Street was definitely distracted by him, and Rogers made it worse by setting his sights on Miss Linda. Lynn capitalized, hitting a springboard dropkick and a Cradle Piledriver for the 1-2-3!

NWA TV Title Match
Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Johnny Mantell
Blanchard wins with the Slingshot Suplex. After the match, Tony Schiavone enters the ring and introduces former NWA World Champion, Lou Thesz! Thesz arrives, dressed in a suit and says he has a major announcement: he states that the current state of the NWA, with cage matches, Money in the Bank cash-ins, faction warfare, etc, is unrecognizable to him, and possibly the business has passed him by. He continues that the best thing may be for him to get his release from the NWA and retire! The shocked crowd looked on in silence as he thanked the fans and left the ring.

Mantell won with the Russian Leg Sweep.

Champions The Army of Darkness (Terry Gordy and Jimmy Snuka) w/“Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan vs. The Armstrongs (Bob and Brad)
Gordy pinned Bob after the Eternal Darkness. After the bell, the AOD continued their assault on the Armstrongs until Bruiser Brody hit the ring with a chair! He chased off the tag champs and their manager as the show goes off the air!
