Jim Ross: "Good evening, folks, I'm Jim Ross, here with my partner, "The Dean" Gordon Solie! Dean, we have lots of action lined up for tonight's show!"
Gordon Solie: "That's right, Jim. We've got a double main event! An NWA Tag Team Championship Tournament Qualifying Match between The Rock N Roll Express and Nikolai Volkoff and the Iron Sheik! And then, 'The American Dragon' Bryan Danielson and Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine will lock up for a chance to be in the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament!"
Ross: "Let's stop talking about it and get to ringside!"

The Funk Rockers ("Flash Funk" 2 Cold Scorpio & Marty Jannetty) vs. Jeff Costa and The Masked Miser
This opener was little more than a squash, with Jannetty pinning Costa following a Rocker Dropper. After the bell, "The Billion Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and his bodyguard, Rodney, who for some reason was carrying a basketball, make their way to the ring. DiBiase goes on his usual diatribe about "everyone having a price," only this time, he set out to prove it. Rodney selected a young boy from the audience and brought him into the ring, where DiBiase offered the boy $1000 if he could dribble the basketball ten times without losing control of the ball. As expected, the boy got to 9, and when it looked like he'd win the money, DiBiase kicked his leg out and sent the ball from the ring. As the boy looked upset, DiBiase said "That's right, kid. You didn't get the job done, so you don't get the money!" Rodney escorted the boy from the ring as Scotty 2 Hotty's music hits!
Scotty: "You know what, DiBiase, you've been running your mouth out here the last couple weeks, but there was no reason to humiliate that kid! I'm going to come down there and shut that mouth once and for all!"

"The Billion Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase w/Rodney vs. Scotty 2 Hotty
Scotty hit the ring with a ton of fire, but quickly fizzled out when DiBiase countered with a snap powerslam. DiBiase controlled the rest of the match, finally putting Scotty away with the Billion Dollar Dream. After the bell, DiBiase stuffed a $100 bill in Scotty's mouth. He looks into the camera and says "Just like I keep saying, everybody's got a price for the Billion Dollar Man! Hahahahahahahaha!"

The Heavenly Bodies (Stan Lane and Dr. Tom Prichard) w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs. Frank Dalton & Lenny Lane
The Bodies made short work of Dalton and Lane, with Stan pinning Lenny after the Flapjack.

King Kong Bundy w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs. Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake
Heenan is hustling here, out representing his men in back to back matches. Bundy dominated this match, but much like last week, couldn't keep his hands off the referee! After hitting the Atlantic City Avalanche, Bundy demanded a 5 Count, but the ref refused to play along. As the ref called for the bell after the three count, Bundy got mad and shoved him, causing the ref to reverse his decision! Beefcake wins by DQ, while Heenan tries to calm Bundy down, calling his other men, Chris Candido and the Heavenly Bodies from the back to keep Bundy from going overboard. Tony Schiavone enters the ring with a mic: "Mr. Heenan, I've been sent out here by NWA officials to-"
Heenan: "Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're here to ask Bundy who he wants to crush first after he wins that NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Well, I'll tell you this-"
Schiavone: "Actually, Bobby, they sent me out here with a message. If King Kong Bundy is disqualified again for putting his hands on an NWA referee, he will be suspended indefinitely!" The crowd goes nuts and Schiavone bails out while Bundy throws a tantrum.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Sinn Bodhi w/"Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan
This "match" was over in seconds, as Bodhi charged Savage at the bell. Savage sidestepped him, sending Bodhi crashing into the turnbuckle. Savage followed up with a running knee to the back, putting Bodhi on the mat. Savage saw his opening and signaled to the fans that it was time for his patented Flying Elbow Drop! Savage's Elbow hit its mark and he got the 1-2-3!

NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament Qualifying Match
The Rock N Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) vs. Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik w/Daivari
This match was for the third of four slots in the upcoming NWA Tag Team Championship Tournament, with the first two slots being won by the Heavenly Bodies and the Sheepherders. This was a classic clash of styles, as the RnRs tried to keep it fast paced, while Volkoff and the Sheik did their best to slow things down. In the end, Gibson pinned Volkoff after he and Morton hit their infamous Double Dropkick. With that victory, 3/4 of our Tag Team tournament is set. Who will be the fourth team?

NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Qualifying Match
"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine w/Captain Lou Albano
This was a clinic by two technical masters...to a point. Unfortunately, a great match was ruined by Albano's interference, attacking Danielson in full view of the referee. The ref had no choice but to award the match to Danielson by DQ. Danielson joins Savage, Diamond Dallas Page, and Lou Thesz as the first four competitors to qualify.

Solie: "Well, that's our show for now. Be sure to come back next week, when we'll have another night of NWA action lined up, as we're slowly creeping towards the very first NWA PPV, Superbrawl!"
Ross: "That's right, Gordon, that's where we'll be crowning both our NWA World Heavyweight Champion, as well as our NWA World Tag Team Champions! Come back next week and see RVD, the Sheepherders, Lou Thesz, and more in action, including an NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Qualifying Match between 'The Billion Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase and Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake, as well as the final tag team Qualifying Match, as Kevin Sullivan's Army of Darkness takes on Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik!"

Rob Van Dam vs. The Masked Miser
RVD wasted no time against the masked man, connecting with a Van Daminator that the ref somehow missed before delivering the 5 Star Frog Splash for the three count.

Solie: "Well, Jim, apparently the NWA is not paying Mr. Van Dam by the hour!"

Ross: "Certainly not, Gordon! Now it's time to get our first in-ring look at another member of Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan's stable, Chris Candido!"

"The Suicide Blonde" Chris Candido w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs. Frank Dalton
Candido won relatively easily, beating Dalton with the Blonde Bombshell. After the bell, Tony Schiavone steps into the ring: "Mr. Heenan, I understand there was something you wanted to say about your man here, Chris Candido?"
Heenan: "You're darn right I do! The NWA thinks it can just pass this man over for a chance at their precious title? Maybe they're just afraid to give me two chances to have a man in the tournament. But I'm going to tell you right now, the NWA is going to regret passing this man over! He's going to make the entire NWA regret it, starting with that degenerate, Rob Van Dam! RVD, you're first on the 'Suicide Blonde's' hit list!"

The Sheepherders w/Captain Lou Albano vs. Scotty 2 Hotty and Lenny Lane
The Sheepherders brought their brawling and sheer brutality to the ring and destroyed poor Scotty and Lane. Scotty had a brief run of offense, but took too long attempting the Worm on Miller. Williams jumped him from behind, giving Miller the time to recover and tag in Williams. In the end, Williams beat Lane with a Battering Ram.

Ricky Morton w/Robert Gibson vs. Dr. Tom Prichard w/Stan Lane and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
One half of each of two of the teams that have qualified for the NWA Tag Team Championship Tournament met in this one. It started out as a technical wrestling match, but degenerated into a mess filled with interference and foreign objects. The finish came when Heenan slipped said foreign object, a roll of quarters, to Prichard, but Morton intercepted it! Morton drilled Prichard with the roll of quarters, but unfortunately, it was in full view of the referee! Prichard won by DQ.

Ross: "Dean, I don't think we've seen the last of this rivalry!"

Solie: "Certainly not, Jim. The Rock N Roll Express and the Heavenly Bodies are two of the marquee tag teams here in the NWA! And speaking of marquee talent, let's back to the ring, where one of the favorites to win the NWA title, Lou Thesz will be in action!"

Lou Thesz vs. Jeff Costa
Thesz was not here to play around. He beat Costa in under two minutes with the Thesz Press!

Bruiser Brody w/"Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan vs. Marty Jannetty
Brody hit the ring like a man possessed. And being with Sullivan, is that completely out of the question? Brody rolled right over one half of the Funk Rockers, putting him away with the Jumping Knee Drop. After the bell, Schiavone entered the ring with a microphone, but Sullivan ran him off, snatching the mic away: "We're not here to do interviews. We're here to cause pain and run the NWA! And in just a few short weeks, this man, Bruiser Brody, will be the very first NWA World Heavyweight Champion!"

Solie: "That's a pretty bold statement from Sullivan, considering that Brody has yet to even qualify for the tournament..."

Ross: "Absolutely, Gordon. Sullivan is definitely confident, but it looks like he's putting the ox before the cart! And speaking of guys qualifying for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, when we come back from commercial, we have a pair of men about to battle for the 5th slot!"

Solie: "One is a Billion Dollar Man, and the other is a Barber! Stay tuned!"

NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Qualifying Match
"The Billion Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase w/Rodney vs. Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake
Before the match, DiBiase and Rodney approached Beefcake and offered him a stack of $100 bills to simply walk away and take the countout loss. Beefcake, much to the fans' delight, refused, slapping Rodney's hand away. In the long run, Beefcake may have been better off if he had accepted DiBiase's offer, as DiBiase beat him with the Billion Dollar Dream, after some very timely interference from Rodney. With this win, DiBiase joins Diamond Dallas Page, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson, and Lou Thesz as the five men now entered in the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament!

Solie: "Well, Jim, it may be a dishonest way to win, but it got the job done! Five down and three slots left to fill in the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament!"

Ross: "That's right, Gordon. And once the last three slots are filled, those eight men will square off in a one night tournament with the winner becoming our very first champion! And ladies and gentlemen, that'll all go down at the end of the month at the NWA's first PPV, SuperBrawl!" A video package for SuperBrawl is shown.

Solie: "Also at SuperBrawl we will be crowning our very first NWA World Tag Team Champions!"

Ross: "That's absolutely right, Gordon, and here are the last two teams to try to qualify for that tournament!"

NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament Qualifying Match
The Army of Darkness ("Bam Bamm" Terry Gordy and Jimmy Snuka) w/"Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan vs. Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik w/Daivari
This match is for the final slot in the NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament, with The Heavenly Bodies, The Rock N Roll Express, and The Sheepherders making up the rest of the field. These two dirty heel teams behaved exactly as you'd expect, knowing what's on the line. Every dirty trick in the books made an appearance in this match, but in the end, it was Sullivan's Army of Darkness that came out on top, when Snuka beat Volkoff with the Superfly Leap! Sullivan and his men celebrated in the ring, while Daivari helped his men to the back. Sullivan looked into the camera and said, "I'm now one step closer to ruling the NWA!" as we fade to black...

Gordon Solie: "Absolutely, Jim, starting with this match right here!"

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. Lenny Lane
Danielson wins a pretty one-sided match with the Cattle Mutilation. After the match, Tony Schiavone hops in the ring with a mic:
Schiavone: "Folks, I'm here with the very popular Bryan Danielson, and I've got to ask you, Bryan, how do you feel about your chances in the upcoming NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament?"
Danielson: "Well, Tony, it's an honor just to be mentioned in the same sentence with guys like Lou Thesz, Randy Savage, Diamond Dallas Page and the others. I'm going to do my best and don't be surprised if one of those legendary men find themselves trapped in the Cattle Mutilation just like Lane was!"

Greg "The Hammer" Valentine w/Capt Lou Albano vs. Frank Dalton
Valentine makes short work of Dalton, making him tap to the Figure Four Leglock.

King Kong Bundy w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs. 2 Cold Scorpio
Before this match, some footage of Bundy assaulting referees was shown, as well as the announcement that if it happened again, he'd be indefinitely suspended. Heenan seemed to have better control of his man today, as Bundy was all business. He crushed Scorpio quickly, putting him away with the Atlantic City Avalanche and a five count. After the bell, Bundy turned to the camera and motioned to his waist, saying that's where the NWA World Heavyweight Championship belt was going to land in just a few weeks.

Diamond Dallas Page vs. Nikolai Volkoff w/Daivari
DDP, the first man to qualify for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, may have taken Volkoff a little lightly, or maybe he hadn't factored Daivari into the equation, but Volkoff shocked everyone, pinning DDP after a Backbreaker Drop (as well as some timely interference by Daivari).

Robert Gibson vs. Stan Lane w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
After last week's drama, Ricky Morton and Dr. Tom Prichard were sent packing by the ref before this match even started. Both men went back and forth, but Lane came out on top with a Russian Leg Sweep, making it a clean sweep of the Heavenly Bodies over the Rock n Roll Express in singles competition. Will this impact the upcoming NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament?

"Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Jeff Costa
Savage rolled right over Costa in record time, hitting his patented flying ax handle and following up with the Flying Elbow Drop for the 1-2-3. After the match, we go backstage to Tony Schiavone, standing by with Captain Lou Albano, and his tag team, the Sheepherders!
Schiavone: "Captain Lou, next week, your team here, the Sheepherders, will wrestle in the opening round of the NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament, as they'll take on the Rock n Roll Express! What's the game plan when dealing with tag team specialists like Ricky and Robert?"
Albano: "Specialists? Specialists? I'm the 'Guiding Light,' baby! I'm the original tag team specialist! I've guided more tag teams to titles than any other manager! These two crazy monsters are going to destroy the Rock n Roll Express and go on to SuperBrawl to become the very first NWA World Tag Team Champions!"

NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Qualifying Match
The Iron Sheik w/Daivari vs. Rob Van Dam
The Iron Sheik came out using all his dirty tricks, but RVD isn't exactly a white-hat good guy himself. The ref was pretty lenient with the rules, knowing what was on the line, as he allowed some interference by Daivari as well as a Van Daminator by Van Dam. In the end, the Iron Sheik advanced after a nasty kick to RVD's head with his loaded boot. The ref made the 3 count and the Iron Sheik joins DDP, Randy Savage, Lou Thesz, Bryan Danielson, and Ted DiBiase as the first six men in the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, taking place in two weeks at SuperBrawl!

Ross: "Well, that's it for this week! Join us next week for a huge double main event! The Sheepherders will take on the Rock n Roll Express in the opening round of the NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament!"
Solie: "And Bruiser Brody will go up against Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake in an NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Qualifying Match!"
Ross: "See ya next week!"

Jim Ross: "We certainly do, Dean! Let's get to the ring!"

Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik w/Daivari vs. Frank Dalton and Scotty 2 Hotty
Daivari decided that tonight was the night for The Iron Sheik, who qualified for the NWA World Championship Tournament last week, to make a statement. After Volkoff finished with his very unpopular rendition of the Russian national anthem, Daivari directed him to leave his jacket and hat on and "take the night off," as the Sheik was going to put on a clinic. Unfortunately for Dalton and Scotty, that's exactly what happened. The Sheik tossed Scotty around with multiple belly-to-belly suplexes, sidewinder suplexes, fireman's carries, and more before unceremoniously tossing him to his own corner to tag in Dalton. The Sheik challenged Dalton to enter the ring while Daivari and Volkoff egged him on. In the end, after wearing Dalton down with several suplex variations, he locked in the dreaded Camel Clutch and got the submission win. After the bell, Volkoff attacked Scotty, who was tending to the fallen Dalton. Tony Schiavone stepped into the ring:
Schiavone: "Mr. Daivari, what was the point of all that just now?"
Daivari: "The point, Mr. Schiavone, was to prove the dominance of this man! To show 'men' like Randy Savage, Lou Thesz, and that little nobody, Bryan Danielson, exactly what is going to happen to them when they step into the ring with this man!"
Iron Sheik: "Iran, number one! Russia, number one! USA? Ptoo!" (Sheik spits on the ground) "I am going to beat Savage, DDP, Lou Thesz, whatever jabroni is put in front of me, and I will win that NWA Championship!"

"The Billion Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase w/Rodney vs. Diamond Dallas Page
As has become normal, DiBiase and Rodney met DDP in the center of the ring, where DiBiase offered him an unknown sum of money to walk away and give DiBiase the easy win. DDP told him to "stick it," and an angry DiBiase replied, "You know what? You're not even worth my time. Rodney, take care of my light work!" and just like that, it appears the match has been changed to Rodney vs. DDP! The ref calls for the bell as Rodney takes off his cap and vest. He turns around into the waiting DDP, who hits the Diamond Cutter for the 1-2-3! DDP wins in under 10 seconds! DDP then grabs a mic:
DDP: "DiBiase! You're not going to keep dodging me. In fact, I'm laying it out to you, right here in front of all these people, and to the NWA board of directors: Since we've both qualified for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, I'm challenging you to be my first round opponent! And DiBiase? If you don't believe me, just ask Rodney here; you will...feel...the...BANG!"

The Heavenly Bodies (Stan Lane and Dr. Tom Prichard) w/Bobby Heenan vs. The Funk Rockers ("Flash Funk" 2 Cold Scorpio and "Rocker" Marty Jannetty)
Lane and Prichard isolated Scorpio and used double team moves and quick tags before putting him away with the Rocket Launcher. After the match, Schiavone entered the ring:
Schiavone: "Folks, I'm here with-"
Heenan: "Give me that microphone, you brain dead hick! Now get out of here!" He pushes Schiavone away. "Now that we got that moron out of here, we can talk. We are one week away. One week until we first beat this Army of Darkness-more like Army of Dumbness! Sure, Gordy and Snuka are big and tough, but they're brainless humanoids like all you people out there!" Boos from the studio audience. "And after we get past those ham-and-eggers, we WILL beat the Sheepherders at SuperBrawl to become the first NWA World Tag Team Champions! Oh, what about Ricky and Robert, the Rock n Roll Express? I have a feeling they're going to get bushwhacked by the Sheepherders in just a few minutes!"

NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Qualifying Match
Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake vs. Bruiser Brody w/"Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan
Brody came loaded for war, as this was his second (and final) chance to qualify for the tournament, having lost to DDP by DQ weeks ago. Brody jumped Beefcake at the bell and never looked back, winning with the Jumping Knee Drop. After the bell, Rob Van Dam came to the ring and asked for a mic:
RVD: "You know, a couple weeks ago, Chris Candido came out here and his manager, Bobby Heenan, came out and said that I was first on his hit list. Well, I don't know what your problem with me is, but why don't you just 'skip' your ass down here and we'll figure it out!?" Candido charges the ring with Heenan in tow, and we have an impromptu match!

Rob Van Dam vs. "The Suicide Blonde" Chris Candido w/Bobby Heenan
RVD and Candido slugged it out in the center of the ring, with RVD getting the upper hand. Van Dam threw all of his offense at Candido, but Heenan made the save, directing Candido to bail out and take a powder. This didn't really help, as RVD followed him to the outside and hit him with a leg drop across the guardrail and rolled him back into the ring. RVD hit the Five Star Frog Splash and only got a two count before Heenan hopped up on the apron with a chair, breaking the count! RVD grabbed the chair and shoved Heenan off the apron and delivered a nasty Van Daminator right in front of the ref, getting the immediate DQ. Once RVD saw he was DQ'd, he figured he'd get his money's worth and set Candido up in the corner and went coast to coast with a vicious Van Terminator! Before RVD could do any more damage, the rest of Heenan's stable, the Heavenly Bodies and King Kong Bundy stormed the ring, but RVD bailed out. We cut to commercial as Heenan tried to help Candido up.

NWA World Tag Team Championship Tournament Match
The Rock N Roll Express vs. The Sheepherders w/Capt Lou Albano
The RnR's started this one fast and furious, using double team and agility moves to keep the Sheepherders on their back foot. Late in the match, Heenan made his way to ringside and caused a scene, distracting Ricky. As the ref tried to deal with Ricky and Heenan, Stan Lane and Tom Prichard hit the ring from the crowd! Prichard hit an Enzuigiri and Lane followed up with a Russian Leg Sweep! The Bodies rolled out of the ring and back through the crowd, as the ref returned to the ring, but the damage was done. The Sheepherders nailed Robert with a Battering Ram and Williams made the cover and got the win.

Ross: "The Sheepherders are in the NWA World Tag Team Championship finals in 8 days at SuperBrawl!"

Solie: "Yes, Jim, but will they be facing The Heavenly Bodies or the Army of Darkness?"
