Like the name Funk Rockers for Jannetty and Scorpio. I called them the "Rock and Soul Express" at one point... but I like the Funk Rockers better... Great stuff!

NWA 16 WCW Saturday Night Center Stage Atlanta, Ga Saturday, April 14, 2018
The NWA presents WCW Saturday Night!!
Jim Ross: "Good evening folks, this is good ol' JR, here with my partner, Gordon Solie! We're just one week away from NWA Spring Stampede!" Gordon Solie: "That's right, Jim! And I couldn't be more excited for the matches we've got on that card! We'll talk about them tonight as the shows goes on, but for now, let's head to the ring!" The Sheepherders vs. Jeff Costa and Lenny Lane Miller and Williams made short work of their opponents, as Miller pinned Costa after a Battering Ram, but the real story here was the action after the match. As the newly turned fan favorites were having their hands raised in victory, three men hit the ring and jumped them! It was Nikolai Volkoff, Boris Zhukov, and "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff! The three men beat down the Sheepherders as their apparent leader-and reason for jumping the Sheepherders arrived-Captain Lou Albano! The beatdown continued, while the captain yelled, "Nobody puts their hands on Lou Albano without paying the price!" The Russians pressed their attack, using Ivan's chains, until the Sheepherders were both a bloody mess. Ross: "Ladies and gentlemen, we apologize for the graphic nature of this situation! We're cutting to commercial!" "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff w/Captain Lou Albano vs. Frank Dalton When we came back from commercial, Tony Schiavone had a mic in front of Albano, who was standing with his new team of Russians: "That's right! Now that those dirty Sheepherders have been dealt with, the rest of the NWA is on notice! The Bolsheviks, Volkoff and Zhukov are going to crush the tag team division, while "the Russian Bear" is going to dominate the singles competition here! First of all, he's going to be one of the ten competitors in the NWA Television Title Battle Royal at Spring Stampede! But tonight, he's going to crush that man right there!" as he points across the ring at a slightly worried looking Frank Dalton. Koloff tore into Dalton, beating him in under three minutes with the Russian Bear Hug. After the commercial break, Tony Schiavone was standing in the ring with Rob Van Dam: Schiavone: "Rob, I understand that you have an announcement to make?" RVD: "That's right, Tony. I heard the NWA was starting a new TV Title, and I thought who better to be the first NWA Television Champion, than the greatest ECW Television Champion of all time, R-V-" RVD was interrupted by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan entering the ring with a mic of his own: "Listen here, you airbrushed humanoid! Nobody cares about your announcement! Not when the Brain has one of his own! One of my stable would like to enter that battle royal as well! Who, you might ask? That man right there!" RVD is jumped from behind by a masked man! He punches RVD several times before locking in a sleeper variation! Ross: "It's the Masked Superstar! The Masked Superstar has joined the NWA!" Solie: "More importantly, Jim, he's joined the Heenan Family and thrown his hat into the ring as one of the competitors in the NWA World Television Championship battle royal at Spring Stampede! And more important than that, he's got the Cobra Hold locked in on RVD!" Rob Van Dam vs. The Masked Superstar w/Bobby HeenanAfter Van Dam fought his way back to his feet, he challenged Heenan's new Family member to a match, "right here, right now!" and The Masked Superstar accepted! The action was fast and furious, and went all over the ringside area. It ended by DQ when Heenan got involved, bringing a steel chair into the mix, tossing the chair to the Masked Superstar! Unfortunately for him, as he caught the chair, RVD delivered a nasty Van Terminator, drilling the masked man in the head and sending him to the outside! The ironic part is that Heenan and the Masked Superstar were the ones DQ'd for introducing the chair in the first place! Ross: "For those of you keeping track, the NWA Television Title battle royal now includes Tully Blanchard, The Iron Sheik, Brutus Beefcake, Ivan Koloff, Rob Van Dam, and the Masked Superstar!" Solie: "Yes, sir! It's turning out to be a hell of a match!" Brad Armstrong vs. "The Billion Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase w/RodneyDiBiase started out the match by making his normal bribe attempt, having Rodney offer cash for an easy countout win. Armstrong instead delivered a dropkick to Rodney, sending him out of the ring, but that left him wide open for an attack by DiBiase! The Billion Dollar Man laid into Armstrong with chops and punches and a nasty snap powerslam before throwing Armstrong to the outside. While DiBiase distracted the ref, Rodney slammed Armstrong onto the guardrail, laying him out. Armstrong could not answer the ten count, giving DiBiase the win by countout. Before Schiavone could step into the ring, Rodney snatched the mic from him and chased him off, then handing the mic to DiBiase: "Brad, Brad, Brad. You should have taken the money! Everybody here knows you wouldn't last ten minutes in the ring with me. Next time, listen to reason. You would have had a nice easy night, losing by countout, and 1) you would have had a pocketful of cash, and 2) you'd be conscious! And now? Now you STILL lost by countout, and you have nothing to show for it but a concussion! It just goes to show all you people out there, that the Billion Dollar Man gets what he wants, one way or the other!" "The Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs. "The Suicide Blonde" Chris Candido w/Bobby HeenanThis feud between the Heavenly Bodies and The Funk Rockers has spread to include Valiant and Candido and has gotten hotter with time. All allies were banned from ringside for this match, but fortunately for Candido, that did not include his manager, Bobby Heenan. Valiant seemed to have the match well in hand when Heenan hooked his leg, distracting him for only a moment, but long enough for Candido to capitalize. Candido hit a nasty clothesline and followed up with the Blonde Bomb for the 1-2-3. Lou Thesz and The Rock n Roll Express vs. The Army of Darkness (Bruiser Brody, Jimmy Snuka, and Terry Gordy) w/Kevin Sullivan This match was made after last week's pier 6 brawl between these six men. It didn't take long for this match to break down to more of the same. In the end, Snuka scored an upset, pinning Thesz after the Eternal Darkness!

NWA 17 WCW Saturday Night Center Stage Atlanta, Ga Saturday, April 21, 2018
The NWA presents WCW Saturday Night! Diamond Dallas Page vs. The Masked Miser DDP won in seconds with the Diamond Cutter. After the bell, Tony Schiavone entered the ring: Schiavone: "Well, Dallas, that was a very impressive victory in short order. What's next for you?" DDP: "What's next? I'll tell you what's next. It's that battle royal tomorrow night for the NWA World TV title. Well, I'm going to be there, and those nine other guys will. Feel. The. Bang!" Schiavone: "You heard it here first, folks. DDP joins he fray for the TV title tomorrow night at Spring Stampede!" Ross: "Gordon, let's take a look at who else is in that battle royal!" A video package is shown of "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, Tully Blanchard, Rob Van Dam, The Masked Superstar, The Iron Sheik, King Kong Bundy, and now DDP!" Solie: "Jim, there's still two entrants yet to be determined, and we're only 24 hours away!" Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake vs. George SouthBeefcake made short work of South, putting him away with the Sleeper. After the bell, Beefcake took out his shears and gave South a bit of a makeover! We go backstage, where we see Schiavone with one of the newest stars of the NWA, Brad Armstrong: "Brad, I understand there's something you'd like to talk about involving 'The Billion Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase?" Armstrong: "That's right, Tony. Mr. DiBiase, you came out here last week and said that I wasn't good enough to last ten minutes in the ring with you. Well, I'm here to challenge you to a match tomorrow night at Spring Stampede! Now, some people might try to make this about money, but I know money won't hurt you, so I'll hit you where it hurts: your pride. So here's the stipulation: If I last ten minutes in that ring with you, then you, and not the referee, has to raise my hand and then you, not the announcer, has say I'm the better man! If I lose, I'll do the same. I'll see you tomorrow night, DiBiase!" After the commercial, the newly reformed Too Cool came to the ring and challenged King Kong Bundy to take on someone his own size, and since there was no one his size, they challenged him to a handicapped match, right here, right now! King Kong Bundy w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs. Too Cool (Brian Christopher and Scotty 2 Hotty)Bundy and Heenan came out and quickly accepted. Too Cool tried their best to keep their distance, peppering Bundy with dropkicks, forearms, punches and other hit and run moves, but eventually they made a mistake. They underestimated Heenan. Scotty got too close to the ropes and Heenan hooked his leg, giving Bundy the chance to get close, delivering nasty bodyslam. Christopher tried to step in and help, but got cinched up in a bone crushing bear hug. After Bundy squeezed the air out of Christopher, he dumped him unceremoniously on top of Scotty and then hit a nasty splash for a five count on both men. Heenan and Bundy then grabbed a mic and announced that Bundy would also be in the TV Title Battle Royal at Spring Stampede! The Funk Rockers ("Flash Funk" 2 Cold Scorpio and Marty Jannetty) w/"The Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs. The Heavenly Bodies (Stan Lane and Tom Prichard) w/Bobby Heenan and Chris CandidoLane pinned Scorpio after the Midnight Lariat. After the bell, all six men got into a wild brawl! After all six men were separated, Tony Schiavone announced that the issue between these two factions would be settled tomorrow night at Spring Stampede, as Jimmy Valiant, Marty Jannetty, and Scorpio would face Stan Lane, Tom Prichard, and Chris Candido in an Elimination Match! "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka w/"Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan vs. Ricky MortonWith the history between the Army of Darkness and the Rock n Roll Express, the ref banned all teammates from the ring area before the match even started, and several minutes into the match, he even ejected Snuka's manager, Kevin Sullivan, for interfering! With the playing field leveled, it was just a one-on-one match from that point. In the end, Snuka's power was too much for Morton to handle, and after a powerslam and a vicious Piledriver, Snuka won with the Superfly Leap. Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. "The American Dragon" Bryan DanielsonTwo of the favorites to win tomorrow night's NWA World Television Title Battle Royal clashed in this one, with neither man having much of an advantage over the other. The finish came when Dillon struck Danielson with his own Money in the Bank briefcase, getting Blanchard DQ'ed. Ross: "Well, that's our show, folks! Be sure to join us tomorrow night for NWA Spring Stampede! Gordon, tell everyone what we've got in store for them!" Solie runs down the card, including the following matches: The Sheepherders vs. The Bolsheviks w/Captain Lou Albano

NWA 18 Spring Stampede Greensboro Coliseum Greensboro, NC Sunday, April 22, 2018
The NWA presents Spring Stampede! The Sheepherders (Butch Miller and Luke Williams) vs. The Bolsheviks (Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov) w/Captain Lou Albano Great opener to get the crowd going. Albano got some measure of revenge on his former team when Volkoff pinned Miller after a throat drop on the ropes. Elimination Match The Funk Rockers (2 Cold Scorpio and Marty Jannetty) and "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs. The Heavenly Bodies (Stan Lane, Dr. Tom Prichard, and Chris Candido) w/Bobby HeenanCandido was eliminated first by a Scorpio Splash. Scorpio was next out thanks to a tombstone Piledriver from Lane. Jannetty was eliminated when Prichard pinned him after a Rocket Launcher. Lane eliminated Valiant with a Flapjack. The Heavenly Bodies win! "The Billion Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase w/Rodney vs. Brad Armstrong (Armstrong must last ten minutes with DiBiase)Armstrong started the match on fire, looking like he might beat DiBiase, let alone last the ten minutes! At about the eight and a half minute mark, Armstrong climbed to the top turnbuckle, but DiBiase distracted the ref while Rodney pushed Armstrong off the top! DiBiase locked in the Billion Dollar Dream, but Armstrong refused to submit, instead passing out at the 9:37 mark. After the bell, DiBiase and Rodney began to put the boots to Armstrong until a man hit the ring to make the save-"Bullet" Bob Armstrong! Bob hit DiBiase with a dropkick, sending him to the arena floor and then set his sights on Rodney, delivering the Georgia Jawjacker and sending Rodney to the floor with his boss. Bob tended to his son while the heels hightailed it out of there. NWA World Tag Team Championship No DQ Match Champions The Army of Darkness (Terry Gordy and Jimmy Snuka) w/"Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan vs. The Rock N Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson)This No DQ Match was made as a result of the last meeting between these two, when AOD got themselves DQ'ed. In retrospect, this may have been a mistake for the RnRs, as the no DQ aspect really played into AOD's strengths. Without the rules to slow them down, AOD steamrolled right over Morton and Gibson, with Snuka pinning Gibson after the Eternal Darkness. NWA World TV Title Battle Royal Tully Blanchard Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake Masked Superstar Diamond Dallas Page The Iron Sheik Rob Van Dam "The Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson King Kong Bundy Magnum TAThe surprise here was the tenth competitor, Magnum TA, making his NWA debut! He quickly made his presence known, eliminating the Masked Superstar! He was later eliminated after a sneak attack by Koloff, who was eliminated almost immediately after. Magnum and Koloff brawled all the way to the back. The field thinned and came down to Rob Van Dam and Tully Blanchard, and Blanchard came out on top! Tully Blanchard wins the NWA World TV title! Eliminations: Superstar (by Magnum) Beefcake (by Bundy) Magnum (by Koloff) Koloff (by Danielson) Sheik (by DDP) Bundy (by Danielson) DDP (by Blanchard) Danielson (by RVD) RVD (by Blanchard) NWA World Heavyweight Championship Steel Cage Match Champion Bruiser Brody w/"Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan vs. Lou Thesz This match has been building almost since the beginning of the NWA back in January. Brody beat Thesz in the tournament finals at SuperBrawl to become the first NWA champion, then the controversial 2/3 Falls match at Wrestlemania, multiple altercations between the two, and now here we are. While, like the tag team championship match, a cage match may play to the champion's strength, Thesz was prepared for war. The battle went back and forth, with Thesz trying to keep the match on the mat in the center of the ring, while Brody insisted on making the cage a real part of the match. By the end of this, both men would be wearing the crimson mask, in addition to other body parts being bloodied. Late in the match, Brody went for a turnbuckle charge, but Thesz reversed it into a faceplant into the cage wall! He followed up by ramming Brody into the corner post of the cage, busting him wide open. Thesz pressed the attack, and after two Thesz Presses and a Greco Roman Backdrop, got the 1-2-3, pinning Brody and winning the elusive NWA World Heavyweight Championship! After the bell, Sullivan attacked the new champ with his dreaded Golden Spike, drawing even more blood from Thesz's head. Brody joined in, and he and Sullivan began to beat down Thesz, until Bryan Danielson ran to the ring with his Money in the Bank Briefcase and made the save, cleaning house with the metal briefcase! Brody decided he'd been hit in the head enough times for one night and bailed out, while the crowd went nuts. Danielson helped the bloody Thesz to his feet and picked up the title belt. He raised Thesz's arm in victory and then smashed him in the face with the belt! As the stunned crowd looked on, Danielson then straddled the champ's chest and started raining down vicious MMA Elbows! The bloody and exhausted Thesz was practically helpless as Danielson then picked up his Money in the Bank briefcase and slammed in onto Thesz's head! He then called a ref into the ring and the announcement was made that he was cashing in! NWA World Heavyweight Championship Steel Cage Match Champion Lou Thesz vs. "The American Dragon" Bryan DanielsonThesz was barely conscious as the bell rang, but he still attempted to defend himself, but once again Danielson began to drill him with MMA Elbows until the ref stopped the match! Your winner and NEW NWA World Heavyweight Champion, "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson! As the Greensboro crowd booed and threw trash into the ring, things actually got worse, as JJ Dillon came to the ring, gave Danielson a big hug and raised his hand in victory! Tully Blanchard, with his newly won World TV title, entered the ring as well, and all three men raised their hands in victory as the crowd continued to protest.

NWA 19 WCW Saturday Night Center Stage Atlanta, Ga Saturday, April 28, 2018
The NWA presents WCW Saturday Night!
The Heavenly Bodies (Dr. Tom Prichard and Chris Candido) w/Bobby Heenan vs. Frank Dalton and Lenny Lane This newest version of the Heavenly Bodies made short work of Dalton and Lane, with Prichard setting Lane up with an Enzuigiri for Candido to hit the Blonde Bomb. During the match, commentators reveal that Stan Lane was injured at last week’s PPV, Spring Stampede, and will be out of action for several weeks, making Prichard and Candido regular partners for the foreseeable future.
NWA World TV Title Match Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. George South In his first title defense, Blanchard dominated South, but still felt the need to cheat to win. He blasted South with a foreign object while Dillon distracted the ref and got the three count. After the bell, Dillon brought out his newest client and new NWA World Heavyweight Champion, “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson! Danielson is met with a chorus of boos as trash fills the ring.
Danielson: “You people make me sick! You’re all booing me for doing exactly what each and every one of you would have done! I saw my chance and I took it. As NWA Champion, you need to defend this belt anytime, anywhere, and need to be ready at the drop of a hat. Lou Thesz wasn’t ready, and now he’s sitting at home, licking his wounds. That’s his-“ Danielson is interrupted by the sinister music of “Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan and his Army of Darkness! Sullivan steps out from behind the curtain with former champion, Bruiser Brody! Sullivan: “Danielson! I don’t give a damn about Lou Thesz, but I do want to know if you’re going to have the guts to give this man his rematch!?” Dillon: “Look, Sullivan, that’s up to the championship committee. They decide who-“ Sullivan: “You just got finished saying that the champ has to be ready to go at the drop of a hat. Are you going to give the former champion his rematch or not?” Danielson: “Oh, he’ll get his rematch! Bring your freak here next week!” Sullivan smiles as he and Brody leave.
The Armstrongs (Bob and Brad) vs. Jeff Costa and The Masked Miser The Armstrongs were on fire in this one, bouncing Costa and the Miser from post to post, but the match ended in a no contest when “The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and his bodyguard, Rodney attacked! DiBiase and Rodney left the Armstrongs in a heap and left the ring laughing.
Nikolai Volkoff w/Capt Lou Albano vs. Butch Miller The feud between the Bolsheviks and the Sheepherders continues in this singles match. Miller took the fight to the big Russian, but Volkoff’s power was too much for him to handle. Volkoff wins with the Backbreaker Drop.
Magnum TA vs. Boris Zhukov w/Capt Lou Albano Magnum seemed to have the match well in hand, but “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff, seemingly angry about Magnum eliminating him from the TV Title battle royal at Spring Stampede, came to ringside. Koloff waited for his opening, and once Albano had the referee distracted, Koloff hooked Magnum’s leg, allowing Zhukov to hit a nasty headbutt and follow up with a Soviet Slam for the surprising 1-2-3!
Too Cool (Brian Christopher and Scotty 2 Hotty) vs. King Kong Bundy and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan This match was made as a result of the ongoing issues between Too Cool and Bundy, as well as the incessant interference by Bundy’s manager, Heenan. This match looked like it would go the way the previous meetings have gone, with Bundy squashing Christopher and Scotty, until Heenan made a fatal mistake. Heenan got carried away with his excitement at watching Bundy dishing out punishment to Scotty and patted him on the back. Referee Tommy Young ruled that this was a legal tag and Heenan must enter the match! Bundy refused to leave the ring, and Young began his five count before Bundy and Heenan would be DQ’ed! Heenan sheepishly entered the ring and Scotty pounced! Heenan fell victim to the offense of Too Cool, including a Worm from Scotty and a Hip Hop Drop from Christopher before Bundy pulled Heenan from the ring and carried him off. Young began to count and it was apparent that Bundy wasn’t coming back. Too Cool won by countout!
