Since it is only $35, I think I am going to get a ticket in the Filsinger Games ticket block in Pirate's Cove (if I do get a full time Summer job and can not fly out until later that Friday then my guess is I can probably sell it or give it to someone.)
Speaking of the Pirates, today I watched their game against the Cardinals and I saw some History. In his Major League debut, Pirates starting pitcher Nick Kingman (who is from Sierra Vista High School here in Las Vegas) took a perfect game into the 7th Inning. Kingman and Johnny Cueto (back in 2008) are the only two starting pitchers since in at least the last 100 years to only allow 1 hit while striking out 9 in their debut. hopefully Kingman pitchers in the game against the Brewers.

My day is starting off great as this morning I was offered a full time position teaching Summer school (and the person who made me the offer is my former supervisor who I last worked for 11 years ago) so I will definitely have the money to make it to Galacticon. Pirates game will be questionable for me though as our final day at work is that Friday (but last year we just turned in our keys and got to leave if no student had to make up a final exam.) I am hoping to still get an early enough flight to Pittsburgh and make it in time for the game. If not then I will at least be there later that night. See you in Pittsburgh!

I'll see what is going on that weekend. I usually have baseball to cover. If I'm able to go it will likely just be drive in Saturday morning and come back home Saturday night.

I found out later the job is more tentative than I thought as it is based on enrollment numbers, but it is for World History which is a required class and those classes are usually approved regardless. Also, if it did fall through I was told I could teach Government (I hope not) or possibly sub for the Summer. Either way I would make enough to go to Galacticon in July. |

As I told Todd, I'll be there if I have to walk though thankfully that shouldn't be necessary. Looking forward to seeing my first major league baseball game.
