BRACKET A RESULTS RICKY SHANE PAGE vs. FRED YEHI"Page looked to come out quick with a big boot to the face but Fred side stepped and took him down with a body scissors. Only for a moment however thanks to the strength of Ricky who broke the hold stood up only to get caught much like Sami Callihan did in the fiorst round with the Yehi Special Kick!
Right into the KOJI CLUTCH Finisher...despite being knocked out seemingly by that kick Page reaches the ropes to break the hold but only for a moment as Yehi stomps the head of his opponent and drags him out to the center of the ring and once again gets dropped on his head via the German suplex! right back into the Koji Clutch submission, Page was out cold and the official called for the bell to end the match"CHARLIE HAAS vs. GREG "THE HAMMER" VALENTINE"Two veterans of the mat wars stood toe to toe in the middle of the ring in an intense stare down for a few moments. 3 consective hard kicks to the chest of Valentine who shrugged them off and got Haas in an eventual full nelson submission. The Seton Hall grad would break it before it got fully applied and took The Hammer down with a wristlock.
Valentine quickly got to his feet only to get turned inside out by a nasty lariat! Valentine rolled outside the ring to try to give himself a few moments but Charlie quickly would get Valentine back in the ring to deliver a superplex right in the center of the ring. This led to the HAAS OF PAIN Finisher which gave Charlie the victory as Valentine tapped out."SECOND ROUND MATCH-UPS
BRACKET B RESULTS GREEN ANT vs. PETEY WILLIAMS"To the surprise of many a very quick ending to this match because of what seemed to be an injury to Petey Williams, as the Canadian got the early advantage with a wristlock takedown and as he connected with his O' Canada that is where the possibility of a serious injury occurred. The match halted for a good 3-5 minutes as Williams seemed to be in a lot of pain and Green Ant went for his CLOVER LEAF Finisher and you could see the Chikara star not putting a lot of pressure on the hold and the official quickly calling for the bell.
It took several moments to get Williams sitting up and he needing assistance to the back from other officials and talent..we hope the best for Petey Williams and will get an update out as it pertains to any possible injury as soon as becomes available"ROCKY ROMERO vs. JEREMY WYATT "What a showing for the young Jeremy Wyatt despite not being on the winning end of things. He came out of the gates strong with a charging clothesline which led to his double underhook facebuster right into his K.C. CROSSFACE Finisher only to have the veteran Romero break it by reaching the ropes!
As soon as Wyatt broke the hold Romero grabbed his ankle and took him down quickly with the Ankle Lock, Wyatt would roll threw but Romero would catch Jeremy coming off the ropes with an hurancanrana dropping him right on his head! This lead to the DIABLO ARM BAR Finisher which Wyatt would be in for a little over 10 minutes! He would reach thee ropes and Rocky would break ony to immeadatly put it back on after dragging him to the center of the ring!
This transpired 4 more times until Wyatt passed out do to the pain and the official had no choice but to call it...the fans who were still bitter about the disrespect Romero showed Dan Severn in his prior match chanted for the BEAST as Rocky stood victorious..no question he is beginning to have major heel heat with the Michigan crowd and he is seemingly feeding off of it.
As Jeremy Wayatt sat in the ring being looked over and helped to his feet by the medical staff the fans gave him a standing ovation as he got to the back to end the show."WITH THE FOUR FINALISTS NOW SET! STAY TUNED FOR RESULTS.... -END (5) |

Nice win by Haas...Romero is being beastly, nice win by Green Ant and fun opener.

"NOT TO MANY STORY-LINES, JUST SOME GREAT INDEPENDENT PRO WRESTLING MATCHES THAT YOU WILL HOPEFULLY WANT TO SEE" BRACKET A FINAL FRED YEHI vs. CHARLIE HAAS"A stare down between the two followed by a smirk by Haas which landed him some vicious chops to the chest by Fred followed by the well known proclamation by Fred that Charlie is in big TROUBLE!
However that was not the case as Charlie withstood the massive strikes and with sudden force took Fred down with a wrist lock, now Yehi was able to get back to his feet BUT thanks to those efforts got dumped on his head via a German suplex and Haas quickly applied his HAAS OF PAIN Submission for the quick tap from Yehi to the shock of some. A dominate proformance by Charlie Haas that puts him in the finals of the tournament." BRACKET B FINAL GREEN ANT vs. ROCKY ROMERO"Romero evades a springboard headbutt and delivers a jumping knee strike, followed up by a running shiranui right into his DIABLO ARMBAR Finisher! Ant however was able to reach the ropes for the break and trips up Romero and applies the ankle lock grapevine, but it is countered by Romero who applies his surfboard stretch and eventually transitions to an Ankle Lock!
The tremendous counter and chain wrestling would continue between the two as Green Ant would roll threw the hold and come off the ropes a deliver a picture perfect dropkick and get Rocky in the Torture Rack and dump him and apply his CLOVER LEAF Finisher!
Controversy hits in a big way as Green Ant see's Romero tap the official was positioned looking at Romero's other hand and arm which was draped on the bottom rope! He then tapped Green Ant to break the hold in which Ant thought he had won...but it was to break the hold, a massive argument between Green Ant and the ref ensued!
This gave Romero time to recover and with a running knee strike to the back of his masked opponents head knocking him out..and with out any hesitation Romero applied his DIABLO ARMBAR Finisher and the official seeing the downed Ant not responding quickly called for the bell to end the contest. Rocky Romero despite the major heat and displeasure by the crowd advances to the finals!" FINALS CHARLIE HAAS (HAAS OF PAIN) vs. ROCKY ROMERO (DIABLO ARMBAR)
60 MINUTE IRON MAN MATCH

As the introductions were made both men stood face to face to one another both expressionless, just cold stone stare from both as the bell sounded and as this history making match began....
Haas took advantage right away dropping his opponent with a T-Bone Suplex and an over head belly to belly suplex dropping Rocky over the top rope to the concrete floor! Haas however did not capitalize on it and let Romero somewhat recover and get back into the ring and the two would be at a stale-mate going back and fourth."FIRST FALL- 12 minute 48 second MARK"After several attempts of wearing down the leg of Haas with the ankle lock to no success, Romero changed his strategy and caught Charlie right in his DIABLO ARMBAR Finisher when Haas came ooff the ropes looking to deliver a lariat and in a great adjustment Romero took control of the arm and transitioned right to the finisher which Haas tapped out to"SECOND FALL- 27 minute 12 second MARK"Up until around the 23 minute mark Rocky dominated his opponent but credit Haas for not submitting still just being down one fall, Romero you could see was getting very frustrated and he went to the top rope only to get caught and dropped via another T-Bone Suplex which landed Romero right against the turnbuckle seemingly knocking him out as Charlie applied his HAAS OF PAIN Finisher as the official quickly called for the bell as he feared that Rocky was knocked out.
The official after the three count motioned for members of the medical staff to come down to the ring to check on Romero who was trying to get to his feet using the ropes...Romero would shove the EMT's away and told the official do not call this match..and told Haas to f'n BRING IT!"THIRD FALL- 48 minute 24 second MARK"And from that challenge from Rocky Haas did indeed bring it with various numbers of suplexes and at one point had his opponent trapped in the center of the ring via his HOUSE OF PAIN Finisher, again Rocky would not quit and finally after several moments would reach the ropes to the dismay of Charlie whom broke the hold but began arguing with the official.
This gave several moments for Romero to recover and come off the ropes with jumping knee strike to the back of the Texas native's head dropping him like a sack of potatoes which led to the DIABLO ARM BAR Finisher and another official decision to call for the bell as Haas's arm dropped three times"FALL FOUR- 55 minutes 52 second MARK"It was a crazy pace Romero despite having a slight lead did not play prevent defense he went right at Haas as if he was down a fall...the two to the crowd's delight just start trading rapid paced hay makers in the center of the ring! Haas would get the upper hand and connect with a nasty German Suplex dropping Romero once again right on his head BUT he would roll to the outside.
As time was continuing to tick away Haas went for a suicide dive which did not pay off as he crashed and burned against the steel guard rail causing a huge gash to open on his forehead as the blood began to pour!
Romero quickly rolled the blood masked Haas back into the ring and applied his DIABLO ARMBAR Finisher once again in which Haas tapped.
Rocky was able to hold on for the last 4 minutes or so thanks to vicious strikes in the corner, Haas did fight back again with a suplex or two but could never get his opponent in a submission hold as the bell sounded to end the match."*AFTER THE MATCH, BOTH MEN EMBRACED EXHAUSTED IN THE CENTER OF THE RING IN A SHOW OF RESPECT. CHARLIE DOD TELL ROCKY THAT THIS IS NOT OVER HOWEVER AS HE LEFT THE RING. ALEX KOSLOV AND TRENT BOTH TAG TEAM PARTNERS OF ROCKY ROMERO AT DIFFRENT POINTS OF HIS CAREER CAME INTO THE RING TO ASSIST HIM AND CELEBRATE AS A BANNER WAS RAISED WITH THE PICTURE OF ROCKY ROMERO WITH THE CAPTION 2018 SWEET SCIENCE 16 TOURNAMENT CHAMPION TO THE RAFTERS AS THE CROWD GAVE A STANDING OVATION TO END THE SHOW!-END (7) |

Both men looked really tough, giving it everything they had in that Iron Man finale... Nice work, Rocky... You deserve it!

"NOT TO MANY STORY-LINES, JUST SOME GREAT INDEPENDENT PRO WRESTLING MATCHES THAT YOU WILL HOPEFULLY WANT TO SEE" MATT CROSS vs. MATT SYDAL"A tremendous match between two of the most accomplished "high flyers" in the industry. Some great chain and counter mat wrestling between the two to begin with no one really getting the upper hand. The debuting Sydal would get the advantage as the pace quickened thanks to a shinning wizard and a double helix for a near fall.
Cross escsaped and connected quickly with a pump kick straight to the face of his opponent and his Space Flying Tiger Drop for a near fall of his own! Cross went to the top quickly and looked to deliver a splash from the heavens only to get a face full of knees on his way down. This set up Sydal to connect with an Aftershock! Setting up the SHOOTING SYDAL PRESS Finisher ONLY to have Cross move out of the way just in time to see Sydal crash and burn! Cross wasted no time and hit another Space Flying Tiger Drop for the 3 count and victory! With that victory Matt Cross stands at 2-0 in the promotion."NIKKI ROXX vs. JAZZ"Jazz demanded this match after the stare down she had with the Ladies Night Out Battle Royal winner Nikki Roxx to end the show. What a physical match
this turned out to be and it started right from the opening bell as the two trading forearm shots right in the center of the ring. Neither giving an inch, which would eventually give Roxx a busted nose. Like a shark in the water smelling blood Jazz just continued he assault with a stiff knee to the face followed by a lariat for a near fall.
Roxx seeming out on her feet bleeding badly from the nose would not stay down..in fact would continue to trade haymakers with her opponent to the point she connected with a polish hammer for a NEAR fall of her own. Nikki would attempt to keep the advantage via her discuss elbow punch which Jazz avoided and applied her BITCH CLAMP Finisher in which Roxx eventually passed out to the pain to giving the official no choice but to call the match. Giving the hard foiught win to Jazz"4-WAY SINGLE FALL MATCHCHARLIE HAAS vs. DAN SEVERN vs. FRED YEHI vs. GREEN ANT"All four of these men had tremendous showings in the SWEET SCIENCE 16 Tournament and looked to get back on the winning track. Early on all four men had moments that they shined offensively but it wasaaround the 21 minute mark or so when things really began to lose control between Haas and Green Ant to the point where Charlie and Ant brawled in the front row of fans and Haas went to unmask Green Ant!"
Suddenly SOLDIER ANT & FIRE ANT came down to the ring to pull Haas off of their Colony stable mate..officials from the back came storming to ring side to separate hold back the army of Ants who Haas seemed to have no problem throwing down with despite the numbers not being in his favor.
Meanwhile in the ring the young Yehi dropped the legend Severn with a powerbomb for a NEAR fall.. Fred would connect with his Yehi Special Kick for yet another near fall! The hall of fame combat specialist however would not stay down and with the home crowd cheering him on would catch Fred with a German Suplex which would led to the transition to a heel hook on Fred right in the center of the ring which after a few heart wrenching moments of almost reaching the ropes for the break he had no choice but to tap!"*AFTER THE MATCH SEVERN WOULD GET HIS HAND RAISED IN VICTORY TO THE DELIGHT OF THE FANS, HE WOULD ATTEMPT TO HELP YEHI BACK TO HIS FEET WHICH FRED RESPECTIVELY DECLINED AND LEFT THE RING.
THE SWEET SCIENCE 16 TOURNAMENT WINNER ROCKY ROMERO WOULD MAKE HIS WAY INTO THE RING TO A MIXED REACTION FROM THE CROWD. ROCKY APPLAUDED SEVERN ON THE VICTORY AND EXTENDED HIS HAND IN GOOD FAITH TO SEVERN...SEVERN GOT IN THE FACE OF ROMERO AND REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE JESTER TO THE DELIGHT OF THE FANS AND WALKED OUT OF THE RING..TO END THE SHOW*-END (8) |
