A little intro here.
This is a promotion I created. The idea is that Midwest Championship Wrestling was running Indiana, Iowa, Michigan and Ohio in the late 80s and early 90s as one of the last territory style promotions. I'm going to use a mix of guys that would generally have worked this type of company in that era. There will be some guys outside of that just for the sake of fun and sometimes for some variety. The TV will work a lot like SMW or GWF at the time.
The belts for the promotion are as follows:
Midwest Heavyweight Championship Midwest Tag Team Championship Midwest Television Championship
There were tournaments but I'm not going to post those. I'm going to pick up with the first episode of the TV. I've played out 3 or 4 months worth of shows for this. What you'll generally see is weekly TV and a monthly big arena show.

Midwest Championship Wrestling Episode: 1: 12/16/1989
taped from Cleveland, OH
Clips of the final of the Midwest Heavyweight Championship Tournament start off the show. Tony Atlas has Terry Gordy down. Jim Cornette slips something to Gordy behind the referees back. Atlas goes to Press Slam Gordy but Gordy hits him in the head with that object and Atlas goes down. Gordy hits the Piledriver and covers for the three count. Jim Cornette celebrates on the outside and Terry Gordy is presented with the Midwest Heavyweight Championship belt.
Bob Caudle is with Midwest Heavyweight Champion Terry Gordy and Jim Cornette. Cornette gloats that he has the Heavyweight Champion on his payroll and no one is going to get that belt away from him. And just to get things out of the way. He went to Midwest Championship Wrestling management because he was worried about Tony Atlas hurting his championship caliber wrestler. They declined to do anything about it. So he's putting it out there. Any man that wants to help protect his interests, there's $15,000 in it for them. Caudle asks Gordy why he decided to go with Jim Cornette instead of going alone. Gordy explains that there are two things in life that he loves. Hurting people and money. That's why he loves wrestling because he gets paid to hurt people. He saw what The Heavenly Bodies get paid and he wanted a piece of that. Jim Cornette gets him a lot of extra money and that's why he hired him as a manager.
Sam Houston d. Mister X w/ the Bulldog
Bob Caudle is with Tony Atlas. Caudle asks about Cornette's accusations earlier. Atlas says Cornette just doesn't want to give him a rematch because he knows that Terry Gordy can't beat him without outside help. He knows that they can only duck him for so long before they'll be forced to give him a title match. That's why Cornette is protesting to management. He wants to get him thrown out of the promotion so he won't take the belt. Just then the Masked Superstar attacks. He nails Atlas from behind and locks in the Cobra Hold. Atlas tries to fight it off but the Superstar has it locked in tight. Superstar puts him out and puts the boots to him. Superstar grabs the mic from Caudle and says that he's going to collect that $15,000.
The Heavenly Bodies d. George South and Jake Milliman w/ the Rocket Launcher
Bob Caudle is with The Heavenly Bodies and Jim Cornette. Cornette says he's been up sick at night because the Heavenly Bodies didn't win the Midwest Tag Team Titles. He feels like he let his team down. But that doesn't matter because they are on the trail of the Fantastics. They're going to capture those belts because there isn't a single team in wrestling as good as the Bodies. Prichard chimes in and complains about the women in the Midwest. He says they've had to start carrying around mace because these women haven't seen a man that weighs less than 300 lbs. in a decade. He tells the women that they can look but please don't touch. Lane says that they have supermodels and celebrities trying to get their numbers and there just isn't time for all of the plain janes out there.
The Patriot d. Eddie Gilbert w/ a standing dropkick
Gilbert attacks after the match. He nails The Patriot with a chair and then throws a fireball right in his face. The Patriot rolls around in pain as Eddie Gilbert puts the boots to him. Referees, security and medical staff hit the ring and manage to pull Gilbert away and get the injured Patriot to the back.
Main Event: Midwest Heavyweight Title Match: Terry Gordy (c) d. Brad Armstrong w/ the Piledriver
After the match, Gordy nails Brad with the Powerbomb. Gordy hits a second one and then goes for a third. Bob Armstrong charges down to the ring and it's a stare down. Gordy goes to hit Bob but he blocks and lays into Gordy with a series of big right hands. Bob clotheslines Gordy out of the ring. It's a stand off as the show fades to black.
Next Week:
Masked Superstar vs. Mike Graham in the main event...
Tommy Rich vs. The Grappler...
Bob Armstrong and The Heavenly Bodies will also be in action...

Midwest Championship Wrestling Episode 2: 12/23/1989
taped from Cleveland, OH
The show starts off with clips of last week's main event and the fight between Midwest Heavyweight Champion Terry Gordy and Bob Armstrong.
Bob Caudle is with Bob Armstrong. Armstrong takes the mic and has to be bleeped out numerous times as he goes off on Jim Cornette and Terry Gordy for trying to injure his kid. He dares Terry Gordy to try that on him because he's going to kick his ass. He's going to make Terry Gordy regret that decision for the rest of his life.
The Heavenly Bodies d. Johnny Rodz and Mister X w/ the Flapjack
Bob Caudle is backstage with JJ Dillon and Midwest Television Champion Mr. Saito. Dillon is proud to announce that he has signed on to represent the TV Champion going forward. He won't be so much managing at ringside as he will be acting as a mouthpiece and handling the finances. He wouldn't want anyone to take financial advantage of his client. Sure, he'll be taking a small fee for these services but his client is an international superstar and deserves to get paid top dollar. Caudle asks about challengers for the TV Title. Dillon says that his client just wants to fight and get in the ring. If anyone wants a shot at the belt then all they have to do is sign a contract. It's an open challenge for the belt.
Bob Armstrong d. Jonnie Stewart w/ the Sleeper
Terry Gordy attacks after the match. Armstrong and Gordy exchange punches in the ring as security floods the ring to try and pull them apart. Gordy and Amrstrong actually start tossing security out of the ring and then Armstrong tackles Gordy to mat and starts blasting him with punches to the face. Security regroups and manages to drag both men out of the ring. Gordy and Armstrong yell at each other as they get pulled to the back.
The Grappler d. Tommy Rich w/ the Loaded Boot
Tommy Rich is out cold after the match and has to get taken out on a stretcher.
Bob Caudle is with Eddie Gilbert and the Dark Patriot. Gilbert has them replay the fireball he threw in The Patriots face last week and then laughs about it. He calls The Patriot a chump. If he wants to mess with him or Hotstuff International when he heals then he can expect more of the same. Gilbert explains that Hotstuff International is here for glory and money. He wants belts and lots of them. Anyone that gets in their way can expect a similar outcome to what happened to The Patriot last week.
Main Event: Mike Graham d. Masked Superstar w/ the Figure Four Leglock
Tony Atlas distracted Masked Superstar during the match which left an opening for Mike Graham to pick up the win. The show fades to black with Atlas gloating about costing the Superstar the match.
Next week:
Mr. Saito defends the Midwest Television Championship against Mike Graham...
Chaz and Tugboat Taylor face off with Eddie Gilbert and Dark Patriot
Sam Houston takes on The Grappler
and 2 Cold Scorpio will be in singles action...

Midwest Championship Wrestling Episode 3: 12/30/1989
taped from Cleveland, OH
Clips of the Terry Gordy and Brad Armstrong match from episode 1 play. Then the following brawls after the match and from the next week. They also show a brief clip of The Grappler hitting Tommy Rich with the Loaded Boot last week.
Bob Caudle is taking about tomorrow's big Dayton, OH card when Jim Cornette and Midwest Heavyweight Champion Terry Gordy come on to the set. Cornette wants to invite the fans to the funeral for Bob Armstrong that they'll be having on next week's show. That dumb hillbilly picked a fight with an absolute monster in Terry Gordy and on tomorrow's show he's going to learn that the hard way. Gordy says that he respects that Bob Armstrong was willing to get in his face and not back down. But respect doesn't change the fact that he's going all out tomorrow night. It's not going to be a pretty sight at all.
Sam Houston d. The Grappler w/ the Bulldog
The Grappler adjusted his boot to set it up for the Loaded Boot when Tommy Rich grabbed his leg. This allowed Sam Houston to hit the Bulldog for the victory.
Bob Caudle is with Tommy Rich. Caudle asks Rich about the black eye he's sporting and Rich says it's because of the Loaded Boot the Grappler hit him with next week. Rich says that he isn't sore about it though. His philosophy is to just get even. He's looking forward to teaming up with his good friend Tony Atlas tomorrow night to take on Masked Superstar and the Grappler.
2 Cold Scorpio d Mister X w/ The Diss That Don't Miss
Bob Caudle is with Midwest Tag Team Champions The Fantastics. Rogers has a lot of opinions on Jim Cornette and The Heavenly Bodies but they have an important title defense against Eddie Gilbert and Dark Patriot tomorrow. They don't know much about this Dark Patriot guy but they know Eddie Gilbert is a real capable wrestler. Fulton says that they've been training really hard and want to keep these title belts for a really long time. Eddie Gilbert and Dark Patriot are a tough team but they aren't in the same league as The Fantastics. He tells the Dayton fans to come out because they're going to see a big Fantastics win to close out the year.
Eddie Gilbert and Dark Patriot d. Chaz and Tugboat Taylor w/ the Hot Shot
Bob Caudle has The Patriot via telephone. The Patriot says he sustained some minor burns to his face but that his eyes didn't suffer any real damage. He says that he should be back in action in a few more weeks. Eddie Gilbert can threaten to do it again but that's not going to stop him. Throwing a fireball in a man's face isn't excusable and he's going to stop Gilbert from doing it again. 2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Alexander Bagwell come out during the interview. Scorpio tells him to heal up because when he gets back he's going to have a couple of friends to help take on Hotstuff International.
Main Event: Midwest Television Title Match: Mr. Saito (c) d. Mike Graham w/ the Scorpion Leglock
Dillon distracts the referee a few times while Saito keeps the hold on. Dillon finally gets him to break the hold. Saito celebrates with the belt as the show fades to black.

Nice mix of wrestlers...big upset by Mike Graham. My plan is to keep the roster between 30-35 wrestlers and cycle guys in and out as angles end or guys lose matches.
