Brilliant win for Superfly against the (newly revealed) GWA owner and resident vampire, Freddie Blassie... Looks like Saint was relieved that Snuka landed that daredevil finisher... Of course, that sentiment was short lived as he discovered that nefarious flea infestation... Absolutely entertaining!

Great match between Johnny Saint and Mad Dog Vachon! Shame about the subsequent parasitic infestation but a quick trip to the vet should sort Saint out.
I love the smug comment from the Strangler at the end: "I figured If I could take him...then you shouldn't have any problems..." !

Saint vs Vachon was a very fun match to roll out. Extremely back and forth for the first 2/3rds of the bout. I was very jazzed when Snuka pulled out the victory especially via his finisher. Although that was the first match I ever ran with Blassie it was still fun, short but fun. But I'm sure once Blassie gets into a rhythm he is going to be a tough man to beat for sure. Many thanks! |

Johnny Saint at first was advising Snuka to go with a Sleeper Hold as a finisher but Snuka just couldn't really connect for some reason with it. 😊 Saint realizes that Snuka has to follow his instincts here but it makes him nervous. I was very pumped when Snuka won especially in that fashion. Strangler Lewis has his hands increasingly full and only getting fuller. But he has successfully talked Johnny Saint down to a calmer state. Saint at first threatened - I either ring my lawyer or the bloody dog catcher LOL. Not sure if we will ever know how he talked him out of it, but Strangler is a man who gets things done. Going to be posting the next cards announcements at some point today. Some careers I had start a little sooner than they actually did, but overall I'm pretty jazzed with the 48 on this roster. Rikidozan, Inoki and Baba were all one "dojo" if you will, but Rikidozans increasing connection with the Yakuza and Inokis blind obedience to his master both scared and disgusted him respectively, so he broke away from them just prior to joining the GWA. Baba is very glad and feels honored that John Pesek has taken him under his wing. Fuji and Saito (although of course from Japan) have come from the other side of town so to speak. Saito is descended from a long line of proud Samurai's and is already having much success in The GWA via defeating Mascaras (or as he sometimes mis pronounces as Mascara), and is the person who want's these World Tag Team Titles the second most in The GWA. Fuji is the person who want's the tag titles the most in the GWA and is not above any means whatsoever in obtaining them. Even if it means agreeing to be managed by someone who he respects, but may not necessarily trusts. For the record, Lou Albano believes in both of these men and is convinced that glory soon awaits all of them. The parts these 5 wrestlers are to play in the overall evolving story are considerable. It is rumored that Giant Baba has been trying to convince two additional fellow aspiring wrestlers from Japan to sign a deal with The GWA, but at the moment they prefer to be far away from the increasingly shady Rikidozan. Very glad you are a part of this my man! |

It was the very first time I've used Johnny Saint in a singles match, hes awesome! I'm psyched that you liked Stranglers line at his partially unhinged boss. Strangler is a no nonsense guy, very old school. He also knows really why he's here as commissioner at The GWA, it boils down to two reasons: 1. Strangler is one of only 2, maybe 3 people that Lou Thesz respects enough to really listen to. But Strangler is the only one that could have convinced Lou to jump from The NWA to The GWA. 2. Strangler is not a yes man. Although on the surface and in the heat of a moment, that can really piss Blassie off - deep down Blassie knows he's going to need a tough commissioner. And a tough commissioner is unilaterally tough. Since Strangler knows that Blassie knows that its "No Strangler...No Thesz", from time to time Strangler likes to use his brain to punch Blassie's brain. Its a somewhat respectful and somewhat adversarial relationship at the same time thats between Blassie and Strangler. And no matter how shady or even criminal Blassie is, Strangler is not going anywhere, but he just needs to know more about the "why" behind The GWA so he can play his cards accordingly.
