The Race/Tolos match was a lot of fun to run for sure. Incognito (& The Owner) are the two mystery men at the GWA and they are at the center of a larger developing plot that I hope is enjoyable. Going to be posting card 6 announcements pretty soon. Just a note on the overall approach at The GWA: The cards are always going to follow that three comment, three match, three comment formula so I stay on the rails. Because business is doing well so far, The Owner gave Commissioner Lewis the green light to expand the roster from 36 to 48. Unless we get Bruno Sammartino in the game, the roster will stay at those 48. (Really hope I have the dilemma of having to fit Sammartino into this!!!) At the end of the 12th card - all of the wrestlers and tag teams will have wrestled once. Starting with the 13th card and so on, the winners will start to be aimed at each other. Wanted to try a slow build to the final title contenders. A thousand thank yous! |

The Owner of The GWA - (Thinking Silently to himself as he was intermittently busy with something...Well...It looks like I'm a principal-owner now...I always knew...I would have to give "Incognito" a piece of this pie...but to make John Tolos a co-owner as well...so he'll keep his mouth shut...about the Golden Angel...pisses me off...going to have to...keep an eye on my "tag team partner"...even that sucks...) (The GWA staff in the offices underneath the arena, that were within ear shot of the Owners office, heard something over and over again that disturbed them. They would later come to recognise...the unmistakable sound...of the Owner sharpening...his teeth...)

I am continuing to enjoy this new venture my friend. The card previews (I loved the Johnny Saint promo on Mad Dog Vachon!) followed by the action are a nice touch. I also like how we are seeing some of the guys in their rookie years. I love seeing Antonio Inoki paired with his mentor Rikidozan and I am looking forward to that tag match with Antonino Rocca & Ilio DiPaolo.

I am committed to sticking to this mold so I stay on the rails. Very glad this is worth the read, its interesting trying to bring to life wrestlers frozen within this year. Some are rookies and some are on the edge of retirement and it's fun being able to experience this. Also with this year, I am using some wrestlers I have never really used before or not at all. Going to post the results in a few. Half way through the roster with this card. Thanks man! |

1. Mad Dog Vachon vs Johnny Saint:

Mad Dog Vachon exploded initially on offense with a combination of power moves and unabashed brutality including his PILEDRIVER and Gnawing on Saints forehead; but Saint matched that with incredible resiliency and maddening counter moves. Driven to the brink of disqualification, Vachon loses his cool and the longer the match wears on; he loses complete control of the offense via some of the best scientific defense seen yet in the young GWA.
Johnny Saint ( fatigue 4 with blood loss ) defeated Mad Dog Vachon ( fatigue 2 ) via Pinfall. Saint pinned Vachon courtesy of his Double Arm Stretch & Cradle combination.

2. Tag Team - The Japanese Art of War - Rikidozan & (rookie) Antonio Inoki vs Tag Team - The Marquee & The Muscle - Antonino Rocca & IIlo Dipaolo:

Both teams put on well strategized efforts against each other displaying smart tag work and offenses that adjusted on the fly; depending upon which specific wrestlers were having success against whom. But when Rocca and Dipaolo were starting to sway the balance in their favor, Rikidozan started playing intermittent mind games with Dipaolo resulting in; Dipaolo snapping - and a post match brawl that resulted in Rocca Flying Dropkicking both Rikidozan and Inoki to the arena floor, from a crowd pleasing leap off of Dipaolo's shoulders.
Rikidozan ( 1 fatigue ) & Antonio Inoki ( 0 fatigue ) defeated Antonino Rocca ( 2 fatigue ) & IIlo Dipaolo ( 1 fatigue ) via Disqualification. Dipaolo was disqualified for blasting Rikidozan in the head with a Steel Chair.

3. The Owner of the GWA - Freddie Blassie vs (rookie) Jimmy Snuka:

The appearance of the GWA Principal Owner and the revelation of his identity stunned the now packed Sunnyside Gardens Arena, many in attendance thought the popular rookie Jimmy Snuka was just going to get shredded; especially when Blassie's sharpened teeth occassionally reflected the overhead lights. Snuka, feuled entirely on adrenaline, never let Blassie lay a hand on him; after a 2 to 3 minute utter domination, Snuka mounted the top turnbuckle - as his tag partner Johnny Saint crossed himself and uttered "Christ" from his position just inside the arena next to the locker rooms...Snuka then executed his SUPERFLY LEAP for the first time.
Jimmy Snuka ( 0 fatigue ) defeated Freddie Blassie ( 0 fatigue ) via Pinfall. Snuka pinned Blassie courtesy of a +4 mind melting version of his SUPERFLY LEAP.

Head of Security - Yes...and they...really...aren't in to being called midgets...especially Sky...and you'd be...amazed...at the work they've done behind the scenes for the NWA...(Strangler Lewis reads the rest of the flyer) - Mercenaries, Spies and Private Eyes...(Lewis scratches his head in thought for a second) - This place is getting screwier by the minute...Ok...give em' a call...(All of a sudden Principal Owner Freddie Blassie bursts into Strangler Lewis's office) - Lewis!...You told me that this friggin chump was a pushover!...Strangler Lewis (fighting back a smile) - What can I tell ya?...I figured If I could take him...then you shouldn't have any problems...
