While I love seeing all of these in color, the "Collector" inside of me say please don't re-do the classics, those are rarities and would love for them to be just that...rarities. It's not that I don't want Promoters to have access to them, but it is a "Collectable" card game. Even if there are differences in the art and stats, some sets just need to remain rare, at least if you ask me.

I’ll take all the classics in color. Rarity is for Pokémon or Magic : The Gathering, where u buy 50 packs of cards to hopefully get a Charizard (or buy him from a shop). Getting to pick what u want is nice. The original classics would still be “Rare” in B&W. Color versions would just let people use cool characters they don’t have access too. I know a “Black Lotus” is worth a couple thousand bucks, how much is a 2087 Massif worth? Or a 2088 Adam Blast. The same amount of money. We don’t play it for that reason. Rarity just puts a limit on fun.

I know lots are going to disagree with me, but just my opinion, so I am okay that other Promoters are going to disagree. I would love to get my hands on an original 500 set, but I am sure that isn't going to happen. Yes, I understand that is a bit different, but the fact it that it adds to the collectability of the CotG. again, just my opinion.
I don't know if I should say this, but in the very first pack of Pokémon I ever opened...Holofoil Charizard. Didn't have any idea about the cards, but after I saw that one, had to pull all the cards from the boys (who were not happy) to put a complete set of the original set together...the collector in kicked in!

I agree with you. Unfortunately, it seems like the ‘collectibility’ aspect of COTG, especially, has gone by the wayside. That’s fine, I still enjoy the game, but remember Johnny Rocket’s Launching Pad or the Draconian Shiek? Good stuff.

Lightning actually looks Norse now and has his named spelled correctly. Good start to the set.
