Assuming they keep to 4 sets a year. Though 150 sounds a bit low when you add LE/SE cards plus new signings so we're talking 40 at most I think 5 years or so would cover basically everyone.

This is super nerdy but I had created a spreadsheet so that number is fairly accurate (within 15-20 names give or take) and did include the LEs/SEs. Did not include new signings. It also includes names that we probably won't be able to get in color unless they are re-signed (or actually signed at all). But you're probably right, it's probably more 4-5 years. 40 recolors a year x 4 years = 160. That assumes we get 3 sets plus PP each year and assumes none of those sets end up having a large number of new signings, though I'm sure nobody would complain about a higher than expected number of new signings. I feel nerdy...

I know I am like never on here anymore, but I saw this and thought I would just throw in my 2 cents. As cool as color cards are, I always feel like anytime we are buying something NEW it should give us something we don't already have in another set. Different versions of a guy are totally fine but just color artwork for the same card is not NEW to me. I know that my point of view is not shared by everyone (or even popular) but it is honest. I voted for McCord & Smirnoff First off, welcome back jasonjaconetti ! Stay a while. You raise some good points about the Legends strategy. It's a balancing act, since people obviously want new names. On the other hand, many game fans also want to see existing cards in color. The decision was made to work in updates with new cards, but increase the number of cards that we released. In the recent past, black & white Legends sets were 6-10 cards and the set was released once per year. Last year, we had 4 new cards in the two expansion packs (Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham, Stan Hansen and Steve Regal) plus 3 new names in Prime (Joe Blanchard, Brian Christopher and Kenny Jay). Throw in the singles Jim Brunzell card (which had never been done before) and that's basically a great old school black and white set. For the wrestlers that we have previously done in B&W, the Legends team goes back and reviews footage that wasn't widely available when the original cards were done. Each card is updated to more accurately reflect the wrestler's career, even if the changes are minor. None of the cards were just color artwork with the same stats. The basic idea is to give everyone what they want. Promoters like you want to see a set of new names. Others want all the old sets colorized. Promoters were constantly asking for their favorites to get the color treatment. You'll find demands for Nick Bockwinkel throughout the boards. I am glad that we got him in the last set to eliminate one of the major questions from next year's Galacticon. By releasing multiple sets and adding Legends Prime to the mix people like you will get at least a set's worth of new cards. Legends Prime will get at least 4 new names this year, maybe more. Meanwhile, those that want the old cards will still be happy too.

As one who was initially dead set against the switch, Werner's frequently "knocked out of the park" artwork, coupled with the creative updates to the stats (the way that you worked in the diving headbutt finisher for Harley Race comes to mind) has made every set a joy. I can't think of one updated card that hasn't been a positive change. I love the fact that we are getting essentially 4 legends sets this year... It really keeps the interest up! I am having more fun with this game now, than possibly any time since first discovering it in 1989. Thanks to all!

Mike and Luke say it all too well in the above posts. In fact, I'm probably the only one that voted for "Young Baby Face Curt Hennig". I truly enjoy getting different versions of wrestlers that wrestled a long time over different periods in different territories, etc. Though the changes may be minor still truly enjoy the different art, etc. I hope this Hennig still shows up some day!

I really loved Steve Stanley's B&W art, but also loved a lot of Werner's color work and definitely understood that from a marketing perspective, color HAD to be the way of the future. I was a bit afraid that we would end up in a situation where we were going to be looking at years and years of color cards for wrestlers we already have in the game and new signings might not be a priority. But now I can honestly say that it feels like new signings are more of a priority than they have been in a long time... PLUS we are getting so many more sets per year that the future of LOW just feels really bright! Really looking forward to the year/s to come!

Well, it looks like our winners are Alexis Smirnoff and Ted DiBiase. With the Texas Hangmen coming in second, they will appear in a later Pro Prime release.
Thanks to everyone who participated!

Really cool. I'll be looking forward to the Hangmen but really glad to get Smirnoff and I'll be using DiBiase every so often when I need to take a break from MDM.
