This is from the World of Sport under Joint Promotions. The popular Alan Kilby was the 'Matt Hamill' of the UK scene as he performed with the handicap of being deaf. Dave Finlay was a second generation star who starting wrestling for his father's promotion in Northern Ireland at the age of 15. This is a good sampling of the technically solid Finlay/Kilby rivalry that raged strong in the early 80's.

This is from World of Sport under the Joint Promotions Banner. Big Daddy Shirley Crabtree is seen at the height of his popularity working a formula that proved markedly successful: playing clean up hitter in tag matches where his junior puts in most of the quality ring time. While Crabtree has often been criticized for his lack of in ring output, in the context of this match he was a 52 year old man of obese size who could connect with the crowd on a level that no one else on the British pro wres scene could even remotely approach. While athletically limited, what he did worked at the box office and carried the ratings. Making money in any medium of entertainment is rarely about the critical quality of 'the art' itself, it all comes down to the marketability of the personalities involved. Without that...all the critical praise in the world won't draw a dime with the masses. BDC's partner was Sammy Lee aka Satoru Sayama...was best known for his stint as the original Tiger Mask. His experiences in the UK would set the stage for the type of worker he would later become in Japan. Watch the pageantry as from start to finish the hypnotically charismatic big man holds the audience in the palms of his hands...leading the people in his chant of "Easy, Easy!"
