This was from All Japan and marked the Finals of the annual Real World Tag League. Abby is seen at his peak while The Sheik was still passable enough to make his gimmick work. This is a great example of Terry's abilities...not only as a worker but also as a creative mind because he doubled with his brother as a booker for Giant Baba. With elements of smartly worked 'garbage style' long before there was a template to pull from this stands as a historically significant viewing.

In the storylines PBR had 'lost his hair' as a consequence of a previous stip...so he is wearing a mask with wig for vanity's sake. A great example of Rose at his best in a lengthy old school classic. RIP

Aja Kong vs Megumi Kudo 12/6/93

This was from All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling for the WWWA Championship. Challenger Megumi Kudo looks like a princess (and her ring moniker was the 'evil princess'). More than a pretty face she was a top star in FMW and often competed in their violent garbage style death matches. Critically watching Aja Kong's body of work serves as a reminder that some of the best all around wrestlers in the history of the industry....were women. Kong had an intimidating presence and was able to mix great psychology with technical proficiency. She was very credible in her role. Take note of the way AK delivers her brutal Spinning Back Fist...and props to MK being willing to repeatedly take it...I bet not too many men would!

Bull Nakano & Dump Matsumoto vs Susan Starr & Candice Pardue 1986

This was from the WWF at a television taping. Matsumoto & Nakano had a short stint with VKM where they were billed as The Devils of Japan. BN is seen at a formative stage in her career while Dump was already a well established star in Joshi circles. Together they stand as one of the most revered teams (and individuals) in the genre's history. Star and Pardue are seen working in a 'competitive enhancement' role. Make note of the differences in the two teams working styles during their respective offensive sequences...you'd be hard pressed to find girls who either look or work like Matsumoto and Nakano in todays WWE 'Diva' division. As a bonus commentary is provided by the legendary Gorilla Monsoon.
