1. The Sandman vs Cheeseburger2. Dan Severn vs Davey Richards 3. Jay Briscoe vs Bryan Danielson4. Michael Elgin vs Jay Lethal I hated to see AJ lose to Kevin Steen. Mornin Crossbones! I felt the same way amigo. Was really hoping that AJ was going to take that one, but Steen is on a roll. Styles cause (if you will) in this tourney or motivating factor is also something near and dear to me so on top of me just really pulling for him anyway, now I'm really pulling for him. But 1 and 1 is still safe, sorta Still have the Lethal / Elgin match to roll out and write up to finish chapter 9. But I'm hoping to have it posted today. I made the same picks you did, here's to hoping it's a good night of wrestling. Thanks man!

Mr. Monday Night and Kill Steen Kill pick up a pair of nice wins. Pariah's not going to like the Styles loss though. Hey TTX! Although I have a few favorites in this tourney, from the oldest competitor in this in Dan Severn, to Johnny Gargano, to A.J. Styles and Michael Elgin. But The Whole Fn Show is at the top of the list for me. Steen is on a tear no doubt about that. Without giving too much away, the upcoming chapters (10 to 13) are all going to be featuring match ups with wrestlers that have similar tournament ststandings. On each of these nights, there should be a match between two undefeated wrestlers at the top of each card. Steen is really, going to have his hands full with his next opponent, (Adam Cole). Hoping that's a beaut. Thanks again for being a part of it all!

Mr. Monday Night and Kill Steen Kill pick up a pair of nice wins. Pariah's not going to like the Styles loss though. Truth... Ugh! Very cool that RVD won his match though... And The Equalizer is showing the universe what kind of Genetic Beast he truly is... Scary! It was a tough match to write up Pariah my man. I always try to give the wrestlers their props, if I'm doing more elaborate match descriptions. But this time Steen just had this match. I agree RVD coming back in this last one was one of the highlights for me in this tourney so far. As I was just mentioning to Troy, chapters 10 - 13 are all going to be featuring wrestler matchups with competitors that have similar records so along with the undefeated wrestlers colliding, so are the winless all with two loses already. So The Equalizer could potentially start to be a factor in this tournament after these eliminations. Although he's not in the tournament per se, he wants to continue his undefeated ways and prove to the peoples of Earth that he's the man. Thank you as always for being in the seats and again, awesome you are "Getting Your Game On" again!

A Billion Reasons...(A Tournament)... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Chapter 9)
(8th night of matches): -----------------------------------------
1. The Sandman vs Cheeseburger 2. Dan Severn vs Davey Richards 3. Jay Briscoe vs Bryan Danielson 4. Michael Elgin vs Jay Lethal
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Owner & The Commissioner: ----------------------------------------------------------
(The scene is from within the candle lit Owners Residence...The Owner is seated behind his desk...in deep in thought...staring blankly at the wall...The Commissioner enters the room...and he...appears to be a strange combination of both excited...anxious and perhaps...guilty...holding once again a large...black...cup of coffee):
(The Commissioners thoughts...are all over the place...between the tournament...the real identities of these...Three Devils...as Callihan calls them...Callihan himself...and where frankly this...is all headed...):
(But mostly...he's torn between memories of his wife...who passed away three years ago...and Phantasy...it's overwhelming really...has he grieved for his wife...long enough?...How could he move on?...Should he move on?...As if he had a chance with her anyway?...I'm too old...for this anyway...Look just...pull yourself thogether...he told himself):
Owner - My friend...before we start today...I have something to tell you...I haven't been the most...forthcoming with you...
(From there...The Dark Menace sat down next to The Commissioner...and told him the truth as to...who he...The Woman in the Picture Frame...and The Equalizer are...The Commissioner played his part beautifully...considering he was caught off guard...he listened and came across with a vibe of...some anger...mixed with betrayal and then...confused acceptance...but The Dark Menace...didn't...tell The Commissioner...why...they...were there...)
Commissioner (playing dumb...and shooting from the hip...but stealing a line...from Columbo) - Sire...but...there's just one thing...that bothers me...
Dark Menace - Yes...my friend?...
Commissioner - Then why come here...to Earth...exactly?...
Dark Menace (now caught off guard...a touch) - We needed...a change of pace...the Galaxian Wrestling Federation was becoming too...political...and complicated...for our tastes...
Commissioner (He knew he had him off balance...but decided to back off...for now...but continue...to slowly take this situation apart...but cautiously) - So ahh...
Dark Menace (He actually seemed a little vulnerable...The Commissioner...thought?) - How about...friend?...
Commissioner (with mixed emotions...but then with...an uneasy smile) - So...last night...my...friend...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
1. The Sandman defeated Cheeseburger via Pinfall courtesy of his Leg Drop at the 3 minute mark...
Commissioner - This contest...was actually much closer...than you...would have thought...Cheeseburger won the lockup and for the first...2 minutes...he was all over The Sandman...rocking him with his Super DDT and his...patented Ultra Huracanrana...but...before he could take his offense to...the next level...The Sandman suddenly seemed...visibly disturbed...and regained control...
Dark Menace - What happened...there...exactly?...
Commissioner - The Sandman saw Justin Credible in the front row...mouthing to him..."No beer for you...I guess"...and with that...The Sandman reversed Cheeseburgers Cross Body into a Piledriver...and then hit his HARDCORE DDT secondary finisher...although Cheeseburger did...kick out of it...it took everything Cheeseburger had...to do so...
Dark Menace - Tell me...has Cheeseburger still managed to stay mostly...off the grid here...audibly and visually?...
Commissioner - Yes...he has...well he did...until recently...but I've...got a man...keeping his...eyes on him...actually...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
2. Dan The Beast Severn defeated Davey Richards via Submission courtesy of his WAKIGATAME finisher (A Fujiwara Armbar) at the 15 minute mark...
Dark Menace - I had a feeling...that this one...was going to be...a tough one to call...
Commissioner - Yes...that it definitely was...for the first few minutes...it was so back and forth that it was anyones guess...until Richards executed his ANKLE LOCK finisher against Severn back to back...to back times...then he really went to work on Severn...with several Alarm Clocks and Kicked To Deaths....breaking Severns face open...
Dark Menace - Those sound tough to...come back from...so what turned...the tide?...
Commissioner - I personally think...because Severn quickly realized that he was looking at going 0 and 2...and knew...he was losing this one...Richards tossed him outside the ring...in order to soften Severn up some...but it proved to be a mistake...
Dark Menace - Severn won the brawl...I take it?...
Commissioner - And almost got disqualified in the process...a perfectly placed Uppercut to Richards chin...set up a savage beatdown...from there...old man Severn rolled him back in the ring and executed a perfect combination of his Choke Sleeper...into his German Suplex and then...his finisher...
Dark Menace - The old boy...isn't done yet...
Commissioner - Not by a long...shot...but it should be noted that...although Richards did eventually submit...it wasn't until Severn had him trapped in his WAKIGATAME...in the center of the ring...for a good 2 to 3 minutes...before he did.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
3. Jay Briscoe defeated Bryan Danielson via Pinfall courtesy of his JAY DRILLER finisher at the 21 minute mark...
Dark Menace - This one couldn't have been...a one sided...marathon beating...
Commissioner - This one was an all out war...they wrestled like it was a world championship match...and it wasn't decided until the last 2 minutes...or so...
Dark Menace - Danielson put up...a hell of a fight?...
Commissioner - Briscoe jumped Danielson before the bell...and from that point on...up until the last...2 minutes...neither wrestler commanded the offense...for long...Briscoe's sneak attack...was met by Danielson's Steel Chair shot...Danielsons REGALPLEX...was met with repeated Smash With Titles by Briscoe...breaking open Danielsons forehead...Briscoe's Yakuza Kick pinning combination was met with Danielson throwing him out of the ring and then...multiple Knees To The Face...bloodying Briscoe...the entire match was an endurance trial...no one move...was going to attain victory...a true war of attrition...
Dark Menace - One of the best matches yet?...
Commissioner - Definitely...then...Briscoe came back with a devastating Piledriver...for a 2 & 1/2 count...Danielson was bleeding so badly...it was difficult at times for him to see...then Danielson came back with a CROSSFACE CHICKENWING that would have sealed the victory for him...but it was applied to Briscoe when he was just...a little to close to the ropes...they both knew it...as they rolled around on the canvas...and Briscoe knew...that Danielson was done...as long as Briscoe...avoided a hold...
Dark Menace - So...the final two minutes...
Commissioner - Briscoe got up...and then waited for a bloodied and exhausted Danielson to make it to his feet...and then...a JAY DRILLER for a 2 & 1/2 count...then...Briscoe got to his feet and waited again for Danielson to pull himself up by the ropes to his feet...then a second JAY DRILLER for a 2 & 3/4 count...
Dark Menace - Brutal...
Commissioner - The referee told Danielson that he's stopping it...then Danielson told him..."This is...not...up to you"...then Briscoe hit a third JAY DRILLER...as Danielson tried to dodge the move and counter it...but he couldn't...and that...was it...
Dark Menace - Hell of an effort...but he still...lost...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
4. Michael Elgin defeated Jay Lethal via Pinfall, courtesy of his ELGIN BOMB at the 6 minute mark...
Dark Menace - 6 minutes of Elgin...tossing Lethal around...the ring?...
Commissioner - No actually...I'd say maybe...4 minutes...of Elgin throwing him into...well everything...Lethal actually...put it to him...Lethal won the lock up...and quickly escalated his offense to winning a ringside brawl via Slamming Elgin's Head Into The Ringsteps a few times...then back inside the ring...executed an almost perfect version of his LETHAL INJECTION (A Handspring Cutter)...that completely stunned Elgin...resulting in a 2 & 3/4 count kickout...
Dark Menace - Interesting...what happened then?...
Commissioner - Well...then...Elgin...got very upset...and proceeded to obliterate him...over the next 4 minutes or so...
Dark Menace - Suprised Lethal's new ally...Sugar Dunkerton didn't get...involved...
Commissioner - There was...a form of...non verbal communication between the two...prior to the start of the match...Dunkerton tilted his head at him...as if to say..."I can help...sway the odds"...but Lethal returned the stare...first...by looking at the canvas...and then by shaking his head...from side to side...
Dark Menace - It's his head...so...who does...Elgin have next in the tournament...considering he won...I'm just curious...
Commissioner (checking his clipboard...yep...he's actually using one 😊) - Ok...lets see...Ah...Jay Briscoe...
Dark Menace - Now that one...could be a tsunami...will make sure...The Equalizer will be on hand...to keep order...
Commissioner - Sounds good...and I will have...double the security ready...to protect The Equalizer...as well...
Dark Menace (almost chokes on his gulp of whiskey) - Oh really...you think...The Equalizer would need...protecting?...
Commissioner - In this case...I do...Elgin can go toe to toe with him...at least for a little while...and Briscoe is unpredictable...and crazy...crazily unpredictable...or unpredictably crazy...
Dark Menace (with a shocked look) - You're serious...aren't you?...
Commissioner - Either way...Briscoe's a big problem...for anyone...they both are...
Dark Menace - When the time comes...for The Equalizer to become an actual part of this tournament...how about...we have...a friendly wager...
Commissioner (thinks for a minute) - Im in...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Callihan Chronicles: ----------------------------------------------
(The scene is from The Commissioners chambers...the highest rooms...in the tower above McDermott's castle...):
Sami Callihan - Ssssoooo...how did things go...with welcoming...her...and showing her to her new...accomodations?...were you...cordial?...did you make her feel...at home?...
Commissioner - Of course I did...you know...she was actually very appreciative...and struck me as being...very kind...you make her out to be some...sort of...succubus...or something...
Sami Callihan (Devilish grin) - Hmm...now that...was a very...interesting word...that you chose...to use...so...what else did you...notice...about her...
Commissioner (thinks for a second) - You know...actually...she looked like something was...I don't know...like...haunting her...The Dark Menace...had the same look...this morning...
Sami Callihan (thinks for a second) - That...should be you're...very first talking point...my friend...now...I have something to ask you...
Commissioner (pours himself some whiskey) - Yeah?...
Sami Callihan (with suprising concern) - You...aren't thinking about...getting back in...the ring again...are you?...
Commissioner - Hell no...why?...
Sami Callihan - I saw you lifting...some weights in the gym...why?...
Commissioner - No reason...
Sami Callihan (smiling) - So...anyway...we have something else...to talk about...here...
Commissioner - I'm listening...
Sami Callihan - I had a...sleepless night...last night...
Commissioner - Why?...wait...you...saw something?...
Sami Callihan - Yes...not right away...but eventually...there will be more...beings...coming here...
Commissioner - Who?...from where?...
Sami Callihan - From...the future...and I'm pretty sure...they are looking for...them...
Commissioner - So what does this...mean...
Sami Callihan - This means that...the sooner...we know...why they fled...the better...cause we may not have...that much time...to figure out...a defense...or...a way out...of whatever is headed...our way...

Two Minutes...To Mid...nights: ------------------------------------------------------
(A jet black limousine pulls up...to a small bar and tatoo parlor in Perth, Australia...after the limousine driver opens the door...two men emerge...dressed head to toe...black suits...black hats...black shades...the works...the taller of the two speaks to the driver...who responds by pointing at the bar...and then making an...around the back motion...):
(The two enter the bar...and what little activity...that is occuring...stops...and everyone in the bar...shifts their attention to them...one heavily...tattooed patron...a one armed...go-go dancer...and a couple of drunk waiters):
(From a door in the back of the bar...emerges a gigantic man...who has to duck a little...in order to pass through the doorway...he looks like someone who...just crept...out of Mordor...black animal skins...and a three...pronged...crown):
(He waves them towards the back...into the back room...and they follow...trying to adjust to this sight...as well as look...unintimidated):
Jim Cornette - Gentlemen...please...(motions to two chairs in front of the tiny desk Cornette is sitting behind...The "Man From Mordor"...stands behind Cornette...with arms folded...staring at them...intently):
Bobby Eaton - We have some news...
Stan Lane (to Cornette) - Are you ok?...like...every...ah...where?...
Jim Cornette (to Lane...struggling to stay...relaxed) - That's...not why...we're here...is it?...(to Eaton) - Where is he?...
Bobby Eaton - At an exclusive tournament...on an island in Ireland...A Billion Dollar prize...
Jim Cornette - Jacobs and Corino?...
Stan Lane - Whereabouts...unknown...
Jim Cornette (thinks for a moment) - Start training...both of you...as soon as I'm able...we're all...going...to Ireland
Where's Your Crown...King Nothing?: -------------------------------------------------------------------
(The year is 1184...a cataclysmic...bolt of lightning has just struck McDermott's Castle...there is chaos...pandemonium...and a fire soon sweeps throughout...the castle...threatening to engulf the entire island...as the royalty...their guards...servants and subjects...all struggled to either fight the fire...or leave the island...only three men stayed behind...The Irish King...son of Mael Raunaid - The Conqueror...and his two bodyguards):
(The body guards wasted no time...it took both of them...to lift the lead/iron chest...full of...the King's treasure...The Irish King pushed over...a large stone...The Kingstone...it was called...Mael Raunaid used to sharpen...his blades on it...The body guards dug frantically...until there was a hole...that was deep enough...for the chest...which was about the size of an air conditioner...The Irish King knew that...he couldn't...take this with him...all of his enemies were now...forming on the shore...to take advantage of this and...were looking for this...rumored treasure...The Kingstone was rolled back into place...on top of where the chest was buried...on the then... sandy beach of the island...within two hours time...The King and his bodyguards...were all killed...as they helped defend the few people...who had survived the fire...the widespread belief...for centuries...was that the chest sunk...to the bottom...of Lough Key...during the chaotic escape...from the castle...and from there...the treasure became only...a myth).
Roy - Al With Cheese: ---------------------------------------------
(The year is 2019...he knew he didn't have much time...Brodies distraction would only buy him 15...maybe 20 minutes tops...he pulled out the machete...from the scabbard slung under his shirt...slung across his back...and started crawling...with a penlight in his mouth...through the combination of trees...bushes and undergrowth that...now thickly...covered the majority of Castle Island...when necessary...he started hacking away with the machete...his heart pounded with anticipation...all we have to do first...is...make sure it's really here...but it's not looking good...not at all...):
(But then...he thought he saw something to his left...he aimed the pen knife towards it...at first he thought he was seeing things...but then he definitely saw a tiny sparkle...of a grey/silvery/ speckled white reflection...he quickly cut his way closer...got a gloved hand on it...it was a small boulder...that has...some well worn...but definite...groves on the top of it...The Kingstone...he found it):
(So...the...Only Man...Who Read The Contract...noted just where...in relationship to the castle...it was...and then quickly backtracked...all the way to the castle wall...and then to...the knotted rope...he used to climb over...and back over it).

I had to go back and check this out from the start Bri. I'm loving this idea and look forward to how it will all turn out in the end. Jay Briscoe over Bryan Danielson was huge, especially with Danielson dropping to 0-2 in the tournament. As usual you have many interesting developments going on around the matches giving it that added flavor. Good stuff my friend.
