Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Gordon Solie here to welcome you to another edition of Championship Wrestling from Idaho!
Tonight we are starting something new. We call it the gauntlet. Every week two wrestlers who are not currently on the roster will be facing off in the opening match. The winner will face another non-roster wrestler the next week. This will continue until someone wins 3 straight matches. That winner will then be invited to join our roster and begin competing for our championships and the glory that comes with it. The next week, two more wrestlers will begin this journey. Each time someone successfully runs the gauntlet, they will replace the lowest ranked person on the roster.
Let’s talk to one of the participants in tonight’s gauntlet match- Rock Riddle.
Rock Riddle: “I’m here for one reason only. To prove that I can win as many times as I need to in order to get on this roster and beat these so-called champions. Tonight’s win is a foregone conclusion!”
Rock Riddle d Redd Dogg- Riddle made good on his threat. He made short work of Redd Dogg. Winning with a flying elbow drop. Tokens: 0
Next week’s gauntlet will pit Rock Riddle against Tom Prichard.
Bobby Eaton d Ted Dibiase with a flying elbow. Eaton and Cornette attacked Dibiase after the match and left him laying in the ring. Apparently these two are trying to send a message of some kind.
Bruiser Brody and Randy Savage d Ray Stevens and Nick Bockwinkel when Savage hit the FLYING ELBOW DROP on Stevens. Tokens: 0
King Kong Bundy d Stan Hansen with a running elbow into the corner. Tokens: Hansen 2
International Championship Match: Lou Thesz d Gorgeous George by submission with a double wristlock. Cherie Dupre’ obviously knew not to trifle with Thesz. Once he locked the hold in, George submitted and then all but ran back to the locker room. Tokens: 0
World Championship Match: The Patriot d Hacksaw Duggan with the neckbreaker drop. Duggan barely got any offense in this match before the Patriot took over and defended his title.
After the match, Gordon Solie steps in the ring to interview the Patriot.
Patriot: “I was surprised I beat Duggan so quickly. He's a tough customer, I guess I just caught him on a bad day. This may have been a quick defense, but I know the road to keeping this title is long and hard...”
Another voice is heard from the back “It’s about to get a lot longer than you bargained for”
Nick Bocklwinkel steps out from the back, with a microphone in his hand and begins walking toward the ring.
“Patriot...what kind of a name is that? Are you afraid to let me see who you are? I bet that’s it. You know that if I can see your face, see the fear in your eyes, that will give me even more of an edge than I already have. You can’t beat me. You can keep facing the Duggans and Hansens of the world, but you know, deep in your red white and blue heart, that you will lose the moment you step in the ring with me.”
Patriot: “really? All I can tell is you’re a motor mouth!! You want a shot at me? You’ll get it right here, next week!!

Gauntlet Match: Jim Powers d Tom Prichard. Powers quickly dominated this match and won with a running knee lift in under two minutes.
Next week, Jim Powers will try to continue his gauntlet run against Mark Briscoe!
The new commissioner of Championship Wrestling from Idaho, Terry Funk walks to the ring and asks for a mic.
Funk: “You people know who I am. I’ve bled in every ring in the world. You know I like my wrestling a little on the wild side. For that reason, my very first act as commissioner is to announce a world title match for tonight. The Patriot will defend his gold against none other than Pampero Firpo!
Hacksaw Duggan d Bobby Eaton. Duggan overcame interference from Cornette twice to finally beat Eaton in a very hard fought match after connecting with the Old Glory knee drop twice.
Randy Savage d Tommy Rogers: Savage made quick work of Tommy with the FLYING ELBOW DROP.
Bruiser Brody d William Muldoon with the JUMPING KNEE DROP in a tough match that saw the momentum shift at least a dozen times.
World Tag Team Title Match: Terry Gordy and Steve Williams d Mr. Fuji and Mr. Saito. Doctor Death totally dominated Fuji. Neither man tagged out before Doc hit the Oklahoma Stampede for the win in under a minute.
Next up, folks, we have the world title match that our new commissioner announced earlier in the evening. The Patriot defending the title against Pampero Firpo!
Firpo took control of this match early, rocking The Patriot with some brutal offensive moves. He even hit his finisher, EL GARFIO, but The Patriot got his shoulder up at the last second and managed to mount a comeback. He finally hit the UNCLE SLAM for the win. The Patriot retains the World Heavyweight Title!

Gauntlet Match: Jim Powers d Mark Briscoe. Briscoe didn’t put up much of a fight as Powers won in under a minute with a POWER SLAM.
This was Powers’ second straight gauntlet win. If he beats Red Bastien next week, he will move onto the main championship wrestling from Idaho roster.
Commissioner Terry Funk comes to the ring to make an announcement. “I told you people last week that I like to keep things wild. Well, in that spirit, I’m changing the rules for one of tonight’s matches. The match between Pampero Firpo and Al Snow will be a Table Match!
The Midnight Express d Ray Stevens and Nick Bockwinkel. Stevens started the match strong but Condrey quickly took over. Stevens took the MIDNIGHT MASSACRE and Condrey’s FACE FIRST LEG SWEEP before tagging out to Bockwinkel. Nick locked Eaton in the figure four leglock twice but Condrey made the save both times. Eaton finally got the win over Bockwinkel with the Alabama Jam.
North American Title Match: AJ Styles d Jim Duggan with the STYLES CLASH. Duggan caught AJ early with lots of powerful offense, but Styles surprised him with the Clash to retain the championship.
Pamper Firpo d Al Snow in a Table Match. The tables set up around ringside were put to very good use. Both wrestlers tried and failed to break them several times. Firpo finally set up a table in the ring and put Snow through it with an elbowsmash from the top rope.
Interview: Mr. Fuji/Mr. Saito and The Great Kabuki are standing in the ring with a microphone. Kabuki puts on a display with his nunchucks while Fuji speaks.
“Mr. Funk is making us take on the stupid Americans that we already beat up, Bruiser Brody and Randy Savage, but he added Stan Hansen, too. So we went and found Kabuki. He will cripple Mr. Hansen and we will win.”
Fuji smiles evilly as the three men walk out of the ring.
International Title Match: Lou Thesz d Bobby Shane with the GRECO ROMAN BACKDROP to retain the championship.
Mr. Fuji/Mr. Saito and The Great Kabuki d Bruiser Brody/Randy Savage/Stan Hansen by DQ when Brody hit Fuji outside the ring with his chain.

Thanks for the comment, Troy. I'm kind of surprised by how Powers is doing as well.
