Happy to here this. CWF has made me want to get my GWF back going. Over the past few years the COTG fans have kind of been on the back burner waiting for the one BIG GWF set each summer. Sure we get 3 Kronos cards or a 4 pack or an FTR set now and then - little dog treats to keep us happy - but nothing like this CWF set. It’s tough to watch a bunch of LOW and Indy stuff get released and only 1 big COTG set. So I think stuff like this helps keep COTG in the mix. Following this up w 2135 is just what the doctor ordered.

Ok. I am going to express my opinion. I'll probably get booed off the message board, but I think after over 30 years of buying COTG, I'm entitled. I am looking forward to getting the CWF set. I ordered it the day it went on sale. But I would be just as excited, if not more so, if there had been about half the teasers. Think back. Tom did no teasers for the first part of Future Shock because to have done so would have given the story away. People were just as excited to get it because they didn't know anything about what was in it. For years, before the web site, all we knew about a new set coming out was what Tom hinted at in the Promoter or in the order form, and, maybe, one or two pictures. Personally, I like to see the artwork and the information on the wrestlers when I have the cards in my hands. Look back over this thread. People have already made decisions about the people in the set based solely on the artwork and what little has been said about them, and it may not be right or what Mike intends, but it is the opinion they will carry into their use of the set. If they have decided that a character is a heel, they will use him as a heel even if Mike presents him as a face, because they made their decision before they knew anything other than what he looks like. As I said, this is just my opinion, but I would really like to see less teasers. Maybe I'm just old fashioned. Ironically, Tom and I were talking about teasers and how many are appropriate to do for a set yesterday. The issues you raise for less teasers are valid. There's also a genuine concern as a writer for what is being "given away" and what surprises remain. Ultimately, I decided to release more teasers because I felt it was important to get more people interested in the new line of stories. That's why you'll note that I talk about "teasers" not "spoilers" that we release. I want to make sure that we are generating interest without spoiling key parts of the story. I've tried to craft teasers that give a glimpse into characters but I believe that your opinion on many of these characters will evolve once you see the card stats and read the story that I have put them in. I've also held out a couple of characters specifically because I preferred not revealing them ahead of time. I want some questions to remain even after you read the booklet- hopefully that convinces you to get the next game edition to see where things are going. If that happens then I am doing a good job. Mike, will you be posting your own results online? Personally I love reading the fed updates from the creators themselves (and sometimes stealing ideas!)

I hate to say it but money is harder to get nowadays. Teasers allow me to justify the expense of the sets. I have been buying this game since I was a kid and now I’m a 44 year old man. I will continue to buy but I have passed on some of the smaller sets because I like the bigger sets. I am a fan for life and am honestly am looking forward to see this set.

Don’t check the board for a few weeks if you don’t want teasers. Most of the talk is about the new set anyways. They don’t delay a TV show cuz someone can’t see it & it may get spoiled for them. U just can’t look. I do it all the time if I don’t want to see results, I stay off twitter. It sucks, but there are choices. No spoilers = no choices. People like to see what they are buying. Some of us book are matches ahead of time, and like to think of how they will use the characters before they arrive. I wish I knew the whole Centra set so I could plan more. The only set I’d prefer there not to be a lot of spoilers is the COTG Set. If there are, I just stay away.

Any chance we will be able to purchase the handbook via pdf prior to it being mailed?? Loved that about the last few GWF sets.

I like the old school LOW (70s, 80s) but I don’t have any interest in modern wrestling so all the Indy stuff (I don’t really know what Chikara, ring of Honor, evolve is) passes me by and there is a lot of that now - so this is a brilliant addition to the COTGverse. I kind of liked 80s mania too (not the iOS app but the cards). Anyway there is a huge buzz about this release and that’s fantastic. My initial plan is to wait for it to be on COTG online and then order the physical set along with the next GWF release later in the summer

I'm for teasers, especially for the CWF line. They needed to show off what we were getting, at least a little bit. I'm sure once this was announced, the majority of us were expecting totally new characters/aCe guys. Showing off guys like Oracle and Anarachy gave just enough seeds for this to be as interesting as it can be without giving us the whole thing. This set is already a massive success from the looks of things, and I'm already excited for 2116.
