I just got home from attending Double or Nothing followed by Suburban Fight Pro.
I am tired so I will probably post more of a review tomorrow, but what an awesome show!

The show was great until the last two matches. Bucks/Lucha Bros. was good, even great in spots but on the whole it went far too long and I could not get into Jericho/Kenny at all.
Dustin/Cody was a real MOTY level match with a great story and unbelievable crowd heat. The joshi tag and OWE match were excellent too. I'd say the show is still worth watching even considering how I feel about the top two matches because they're matches I'd imagine a lot of people would enjoy.
I bought the PPV and generally speaking I don't think it's a good price point for any major show, I also didn't feel like I'd wasted time or money on the show. I definitely don't think they should try charging $50 for every show, I'd go more for $20 for the next two, maybe even less. Save the big price tag for the major shows.

Seeing the show live in attendance, one thing I missed out on was the commentary. How was the commenatry last night? I am assuming it was awesome with guys like Jim Ross and (the voice of PWG) Excalibur. One of my biggest criticisms of the WWE rght now (in addition to the stupid 24/7 title and the Wild Card rule- either have brands or don't have brands IMO) is their lackluster commentary team. I completely agree with those who say the price for the PPVs need to be lowered. My ticket for Double or Nothing yestrday was only $38- 2nd level but 1st row 2nd level so I could see fine- hopefully the other PPVs come down in price. On a side note about the ticket price/yesterday's costs, I laughed when I saw the line for the parking garage at the MGM stretch all the way down to Las Vegas Boulevard as the MGM Grand actually charges something like $20 for parking. Instead me and my friend Alex parked across the street at the Hooters casino for free. (The next door Tropicana also used to have free parking until they apparently wised up when everyone started parking there to go to the VGK games across the street at T-Mobile Arena.)

JR was better than he has been in a long time but had a couple slip ups, but I can forgive that given that he was great for most of a 4 hour show. Excalibur carried the commentary big time and Alex Marvez is just...not cut out for commentary. Maybe have him as a pre show analyst kind of guy but his voice and delivery did not work, IMO. The other two more than make up for him but he either needs a lot more time in the studio or they need to find him something else to do or let him go.

The commentary was good. Good Ol' JR slipped up a few times in his excitement. I tguhink they are using Excalibur to help train Marverez and keep JR focused.

I thought it was a 2 match card. The undercard is standard Indy card stuff you catch anywhere. The biggest difference between AEW and WWE I see is the fans in attendance. No kids, no families. All hardcore adult fans. They wanted to be an alternative to WWE and they are.
I believe they can iron out the kinks w production and commentary. No fan of JR. Ten years past his prime at least. No need for Bret Hart. The Cody throne thing was cringe. Does HHH live in this guys head rent free or what? I see Moxley will fight Fenix next? Is that a step up? I don’t know that it is.
I’m happy for my bros who enjoyed it. I hope it becomes a landing spot for the group of WWE wrestlers regularly wailing in pain on Twitter. These guys and gals need a safe space and AEW might be it.
Most of all I hope it attracts the “wrestling fan” and forces WWE to change the way they view us fans aka sports entertainment enthusiasts.
Right now WWE is obviously the superior roster/product but they’re being run in such a nerdy way. AEW is the new “cool” fed and WWE has nobody to blame but themselves.

And to keep in mind, this is only the start. Product can evolve and change, AEW isn't perfect out of the gate. It will get better as they go along and get the feels. As Arn Anderson says "Competition makes everyone better", even WWE may take this and learn and grow, change some things perhaps? Overall, it's exciting to see, there's a buzz in pro wrestling that hasn't been there in years. If it gets people talking, it's doing something right. Excited to see what's next, both from AEW and WWE respectively.

Poor Brett fumbles the announcement in the ring & then ends up falling out of it. He did not do well. . I hear a lot of people who were offended by Cody’s Throne Deal & always wonder if they are as upset about Triple H’s HOF comment? Let them say what they want & take the gloves off NWO/DX style. Hopefully AEW makes WWE get more edgy. No ones gonna feint if they see a little blood. Kids are exposed to worse things on tv, video games, internet, etc.. I saw Abby vs Brody as a kid and I they did 3 wrestling moves, were barely in the ring & were covered in blood. I loved it. Stephanie admitting that there’s competition, should be enough to tell everyone that it’s on. Vince knows it too. Now he needs to come up w more than a 24/7 title. The rumored Legends title would be way more attractive to fans & a big boost for old school viewers. They just need a “Real” reboot & soon before they flop on FOX, & that certainly wouldn’t be good for wrestling.
