Yeah I know the other title change. Looking forward to it actually. Fun show, liked Cabana getting the gold. Storm moving up makes sense as Aldis needs a challenger. No Jocephus this week. Stevens amuses me. The women's title I'm kinda wondering what they're doing...probably not enough women to do much than have some women drop several matches.

This week's episode was a little more cohesive than the blur that happened last week. Nick Aldis' commercial for RetroMania was a little undignified for how he has been presenting himself as NWA champ. This was more Colt Cabana's speed. Looks like it might be a cool game though. Thunder Rosa embracing her heel side was great. I like what they are doing with Ricky Starks. Guy has gotten good with his character. This main event was spoiled for me a couple of weeks back. I knew Cabana was getting the National title back. Storm dropping the belt obviously signals his moving up to the world title picture. One more title change is coming soon... They are doing a lot of stuff with people playing mind games, maneuvering, etc. Eli Drake, Wild Cards, Thunder Rosa, and now Kamille (Aldis?). They have to be careful about trying to be too clever with everything. Too many dangling story threads can lose people. There is something that the NWA is doing right and better than everyone else. They get what a heel is supposed to be. A heel is supposed to exhibit traits that are not admirable. Mean, cowardly, pompous, traitorous. Fans shouldn't be expected to hate someone just because they are at odds with their favorite wrestler. Too much booking these days equates bad ass with heel. The Attitude Era nullified that thinking by making bad ass cool. All of the heels on this show were heels with James Storm being the only real tweener and Aldis is up in the air. This is one of the reasons this show is working for me. A lot of great points. While I tend to like a lot of dangling story threads (as long as they eventually get wrapped up neatly), I know a lot of people don't. I'm a long time comic book reader and LOVED Lost when it was on TV. I had a lot of friends who enjoyed Lost for the first season or two but couldn't understand why I still liked it through the end (more or less). They all had the same complaints about the show. They created so many mysteries and, in their minds, those mysteries never got answered. The reality is most did but it just took longer than most people are used to waiting. Back to the topic at hand, if NWA has too many wrestlers with mysterious intentions, it is confusing for people. Like you said, though, most characters are fairly simple and well defined. The women's division is very small at the moment but, good and bad, the NWA roster will change somewhat from taping to taping depending on who they bring in. So, they could theoretically use someone like Marti Belle or Ashley Vox for 6-8 shows (I don't know how many shows they taped already), run a short program with them and rotate them out for someone else. And then they're free to bring them back later. Hopefully that helps to keep their roster feeling fresh since it is fairly small at the moment and is only an hour long show.

Oh, I'm a HUGE comic reader too and I can certainly appreciate an intricate, drawn out story. But there has to be a pay off and some questions answered now and again before more are asked. And it can lose what makes it special if it becomes commonplace. Definitely a balancing act. You mention roster rotation and I really hope we see that. Lack thereof has been a downfall in many promotions in recent years. No matter how good someone is or how much you like them, you can get too much of them. With the wrestling landscape expanding in the current environment, they are getting back some of the territory feel. I think this is a very good thing.

Not a ton to say about the episode this week. A lot of rapid fire promos and job matches.
Hey, look. The Rock n Roll Express made an appearance and didn't get beat down for no reason. NWA showing a little more respect than AEW. Hah.
Shogun of Malibu sounds like it could be even better than Tropical Pirates!
Question-?-Mark is clearly Josephus, confirming mine and others' suspicions. Love the cheesy kung fu gimmick.
Wild Cards v Outlaw Inc was kinda flat. Expected more.
I don't know what to think of the cluster at the end. OK, so they are going to acknowledge the Kamille/Tommy connection. For what? Getting convoluted.

Yeah I figured Jocephus was under the mask. Fans seem to be into it. Really enjoying Thunder Rosa. Episode actually felt short this week.

I love Thunder Rosa already! Love that she has/going to have the MMA background going forward. That girl is money!
For the first time, Eli Drake was speechless at the end of his promo! LOL loved it! Ken Anderson is such a good talker, maybe even better than Drake!?
I sort of liked the cluster at the end, the tension was high! I think this will help with the building towards the PPV in December! I think if they could get some more time to work on the story building, it would be better. I too feel like things get rushed a bit and it loses something.
Overall, I still enjoy the show and am watching weekly!

I liked what they were trying to do with Aldis and Murdoch though I think it came up short. Fans are into Murdoch. They're keeping Aldis teetering on that face/heel line.
For the most part Eli Drake has been going under the radar but obviously up to something. My early prediction is that Kamille is in league with him.
It got a little chilly with Cabana and Cornette sitting at the commentary desk.
They couldn't have counted on ?The Question Mark? being this popular could they?
I liked the women's match. Allison Kaye and Thunder Rosa have the makings of an excellent match here. I am so digging Rosa as a heel. Doing such a good job. That's why I have to wonder if Melina is even needed here. Her in the mix seemed off to me.
The main event was fun. Aron Stevens is an outstanding chickensh** heel. "Get him back! We have rules!" Too funny.

I love Thunder Rose more each week I see her. Question Mark being so over is hilarious. Feels like they're trying to slowly move people to faces and heels. Stevens wins...Stevens wins.

Putting Corny's comments aside, I really enjoyed this week's NWA Power. The fan reaction for the team of Aron Stevens and the Question Mark, and the way that Stevens and Mark were playing off of it was awesome. This is one of the reasons that I love this format. I'm sure that it was all on the fly as the talent is reacting to what the crowd is doing and vice versa. There's no way they would have expected the Question Mark to be that over...
Also, reading the comment section for this episode was so entertaining in itself. People having some fun with Kayfabe regarding the "true" identity of Question mark, and people who just don't get it responding to them seriously... I enjoyed that almost as much as the episode itself!
Hopefully all of this isn't lost in the outrage over the commentary.
