He then announces that if our esteemed former president can win this match, he will earn a Central States title match next week. If not, his opponent, Angelo Poffo, will get it.

World Championship Match: Buddy Rogers vs Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan While Rogers is coming to the ring, Heenan takes the mic and starts screaming that “The Nature Boy” is nothing more than a bleached blond dimwit who only has the title because he’s never faced a real wrestler like Nick Bockwinkel. Heenan goes on to claim that Buddy’s parents worked in a brothel. He states that his mother was a “lady of the night” and his dad made money taking sneaky photos of the customers and blackmailing them afterwards. Buddy hits the ring and lays into Heenan. Bockwinkel jumps him from behind and they brawl all over the ring and down to the floor. Buddy is completely out of control. He lays out Bockwinkel with a chair and then goes after Heenan again. The referee is frantically calling for the bell to call this match a double DQ.

The Sheepherders d Johnny Saint and Drew Gulak in 3:43 by pinning Johnny Saint with the DOUBLE GUTBUSTER. Saint and Gulak put on a strong showing in this match. The outside men for each team broke up two pin attempts before the Sheepherders were able to get the win.

Winners: The Tolos Brothers. Before the next match, Toots Mondt comes to ringside to announce that he has just signed an agreement for the World’s Heavyweight Champion to be here next week!! David Taylor vs Hillbilly Jim Last week, Taylor was waving his Union Jack flag around, insulting Americans and acting superior. So, after the match, Hillbilly Jim took it from him. Taylor is standing in the ring as Jim brings the Union Jack to ringside. Instead it being on the flag pole alone, it’s flying underneath and American flag. Taylor is throwing a fit in the ring! He attacks Jim as the Hillbilly enters the ring, but Jim ducks the wild punches and locks in a full nelson. He scoops Taylor up for a slam, drops him on his back and pins him, just like that. Time of match: 0:47 Taylor tries to jump Hillbilly Jim after the match, but he rolls out of the ring, grabs the flags and heads back to the locker room.Coal Miner’s Glove match: Dutch Savage vs Reckless Youth After taking 3 piledrivers on the concrete floor from Savage last week, Youth should not be wrestling tonight, but he’s defied doctor’s orders to be here and he demanded that Savage meet him in Dutch’s favorite match, the Coal Miner’s Glove Match! Card #18- Southeast Championship Wrestling- Eddie Graham presiding
Eddie Graham is standing in the ring as the show opens. “I’m here to make a simple announcement. Next week there will be a match that has been months in the making. Bobo Brazil will put up his Southeast Heavyweight Championship against none other than Bruiser Brody! Today, on this program, we’ll have both men come down to the ring and sign the contracts.
Jake Milliman vs Randy Rose Randy Rose wins in 2:27 with the ROSE BOMB.
“Wild” Red Berry vs Silas Young
Berry comes to the ring making rude gestures to Young who is clearly getting agitated by the “Wild” man. As soon as Berry steps in the ring, Young charges him and knocks him back out to the floor. Berry manages to crawl back in the ring and Young hits him with the PEE GEE WAJA PLUNGE. Young is so angry with Berry that he picks him up off the mat rather than pin him and tosses him out of the ring. Young wins by countout in 1:02
Excalibur vs Adam Pearce This was a tough match from beginning to end. Both men left everything they had in the ring. The momentum swung back and forth as Excalibur used tombstone piledrivers to try and hold the advantage while Pearce use dropkicks and bodyslams. In the end, Pearce hit the JUMPING PILEDRIVER for the win in 7:01
Mikey Whipwreck vs Arik Royal Whipwreck wins in 2:14 with the WHIPPER SNAPPER.
Johnny Goodtime vs Cousin Luke Johnny Goodtime demanded this match after Luke caught him off guard last week and scored an easy pinfall. He insisted to Commissioner Eddie Graham that Luke used some kind of drug to make him lethargic before the match. Johnny wastes no time in this one. As soon as Luke steps in the ring, Goodtime is on top of him. The referee calls for the bell and the action starts. Johnny doesn’t give Luke a chance to collect himself before he hits EXPLOSIVE AMNESIA for the win in 1:42. Goodtime doesn’t stop there. After the 3-count, he stomps on Luke’s head repeatedly. He rolls outside the ring and grabs a chair. He rolls back in the ring and nails Luke in the back of the head. Luke is injured and could miss up to a month of action.
Claudio Castagnoli vs Tommy Rich This is another rematch from last week. Claudio demanded this rematch and asked that it be no DQ. Rich agreed. As Rich is coming down the aisle, Claudio comes racing out of nowhere and clobbers him from behind. Rich goes sprawling down the ramp and Claudio goes on the attack. The rams Tommy’s head into the guard rail and slams him on the concrete floor. Then he drags Rich into the ring, makes the referee ring the bell and goes for the pin! Castagnoli gets the pin in under 5 seconds! Rich is a bloody mess and Castagnoli is standing over him basking in the crowd’s boos.
While Tommy is being escorted out of the ring, workers start bringing out tables and chairs for the contract signing. While that’s going on, Eddie Graham has made a special announcement. Claudio Castagnoli will face Tommy Rich again next week. This time, falls will count anywhere in the arena!
Bruiser Brody and Bobo Brazil both come to the ring. These two giants have a tremendous amount of respect for one another and it shows as they shake hands before they sit to sign the contracts. Eddie Graham presides over the proceedings. He checks each signature to make sure nothing is left unsigned or undated. He wants to make sure nothing jeopardizes this huge match. The contracts are signed and the tables and chairs are taken away. Let’s get ready for our next match.
Don Muraco vs Magnum T.A. Muraco is standing in the ring with a mic in his hand as Magnum makes his way down the aisle. He proceeds to call Magnum an untalented bum who only has one move, the BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX. He also says that with or without that move, he’s not in “The Magnificent One’s” class. Muraco continues to disparage Magnum, his home town, his friends. He even tells everyone that Magnum’ first girlfriend was a blowup doll named Cherie. Magnum is incensed and starts running towards the ring. Muraco meets him at the ropes but Magnum sends him staggering with a series of punches. Muraco withstands the assault and drops Magnum with the Asiatic Spike. He goes on the offensive and then takes the win with the HAWAIIAN HAMMER.
Bruiser Brody vs Ultramantis Black Brody completely demolished Black. The masked man showed a lot of endurance and ability to withstand punishment, but in the end, Brody just pounded on him until he hit a twisting vertical suplex for the win.
World Heavyweight Title: Buddy Rogers-Champion vs Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan Before the match, Bockwinkel and Heenan are standing in the ring with a microphone. Bockwinkel explains that he retained Heenan’s services in order to obtain title matches, since Rogers has been ducking him for as long as he’s been champion. He emphasizes how smart it was of “The Brain” to recruit like-minded men to help him keep his matches with Rogers on the level. With that, the rest of Heenan’s family walks to the ring. U.S. Champion Steve “Dr. Death” Williams along with U.S Tag Team champions, Barry Windham and Ted Dibiase. They come in the ring and take turns shaking hands with Bockwinkel and it’s obvious they are staying for the match.
Buddy Rogers strolls to the ring with the World Title belt draped over his shoulder. Even with the odds stacked against him, he carries an air of supreme confidence. Like he knows something no one else does…
Rogers doesn’t wait for the bell. He threatens everyone in the ring with the belt and they all vacate the ring. When Bockwinkel gets back in the ring, he takes control with a series of dropkicks and a choke hold. Bockwinkel regains his composure and locks in the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. Rogers counters with an elbow to Nick’s ribs and escapes. Bockwinkel immediately locks in the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK and Rogers grabs the ropes. Buddy takes a beating for several minutes before he catches Bockwinkel with a choke hold. After about 15 minutes of action, Buddy locks in the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. Heenan distracts the referee so Windham can break up the pin. But there’s someone coming out of the crowd! Several someone’s in fact. Jim Cornette has come up behind Heenan and whacked him in the backside with the tennis racket! The referee is distracted by that ruckus and the Midnight Express are brawling with Williams and Dibiase on the floor. While the referee is trying to figure out what’s going on, Curt Hennig slides into the ring behind Windham and throws him over the top rope. He then pulls something out of his trunks and nails Bockwinkel with it. He turns the ref around and rolls out of the ring! Buddy Rogers wins! And folks, it looks like there are quarters spread all over the ring…Hennig blasted Bockwinkel with a roll of quarters!!
Rogers grabs his belt and heads to the locker room laughing with his new found friends. Rogers “Heenan, for a “Brain” you really are stupid. Do you think I’d face you dysfunctional family unprepared? I’ve got a few friends of my own here and they’ll do whatever it takes to make sure an idiot like you doesn’t get this belt! TO A NICER GUY…IT COULDN’T HAPPEN!!
