This is something I've decided to talk about in as many different places as I can to help people avoid what I've been through. If the admins feel like it shouldn't be here, feel free to delete with no hard feelings.
I actually want to talk about something really serious and important. The last couple of years have been really umm…adventurous. I’ve moved across the country, learned how to shovel snow and…oh yeah…I died. Twice.
Apparently, I’ve had a serious heart condition for years and didn’t know it. When I moved to a higher altitude, it triggered a pretty serious chain of events. My heart stopped twice in a 12 hour period, I was life flighted to a major hospital in Utah and had emergency heart surgery.
The night before surgery, the surgeon said to my wife “There’s not much hope, but I’ll do my best.” The next day a specialist was at my bedside for over 10 hours. At the end of the day he upgraded my condition to having a 10% chance to live.
In the past year I’ve gone from being an almost complete invalid to being about half a person. I’m getting a little better each day but not nearly fast enough for my tastes.
Here’s the REALLY important part. Five years before all this crap started, I noticed little whitish splotches on my eyelids. Turns out those were a warning sign of what was to come. They were cholesterol deposits. I just thought they were some kind of age spots. My doctors didn’t notice them because I wear glasses.
If you see anything like that on yourself or a loved one, PLEASE make sure it gets checked out. I wouldn’t even want Wally to go through what I’ve been through or what I’m going through.

Crazy interesting story. Glad you’re still with us playing the greatest game in the galaxy! That makes two of us. This game, with the creativity involved, has been really good for me mentally.
