How is Air Force playing in the Cheez-It Bowl and not the Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl?

I'm not a fan of college football. Do people watch all of these or do they pretty much stick to the Final 4 games and their home school?

College football is amazing. The whole season is like a giant elimination tournament and every game counts. For example, Oregon lost to Auburn early in the season, finished 10-2 and won their confer but that one loss keeps them out of the playoff.

It’s also a lot of fun tracking the best of the best NFL prospects week to week. Love college ball!

College Football is where its at!!  Huge fan.   Attended last year's Rose Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl the year before that.    Wife and I decided to take a year off this year, but I will probably watch 80% of these when they are on when I'm home!

I know I am in the minority for sports fans as many people are very passionate about college football which I respect, but I've personally always liked college basketball (their postseason tournament is the best postseason in sports IMO) much more than college football.

Since I moved to Las Vegas in 1999 I have been to a grand total of 1 college football game (it was the Las Vegas Bowl two years ago, Oregon vs Boise State as I have a friend who is an Oregon alumni and he had an extra free ticket for me.) But when I was an undergraduate at Washington State, I would often go to the games with my friends- I was there during the time of Ryan Leaf.

College football has done alot though to improve itself IMO since I first started watching it, especially with the playoffs to determine the national champion now instead of just voting on the champion which I thought really sucked. About ten years ago, for example, Utah went undefeated but was outvoted instead of being allowed to compete on the field for the title because the playoffs did not exist at that time.

Next year I do plan to go to some UNLV (where I went to graduate school) games when UNLV starts to play their home games in the new Raiders stadium that is opening this Summer.

And starting next year the annual Las Vegas Bowl will also be played in the new Raiders stadium. Good riddance to Sam Boyd Stadium which is a complete dump (I was just there on Saturday to watch my high school team compete for the Nevada state championship.)

I get that somewhat and can see the excitement around the championship games last weekend, etc. But after that there are really only 3 games that matter. I personally dont see the point of all these other bowls, besides perhaps some of the big historic bowls like the Rose Bowl and Army vs because of the tradition. Random Bowls with 6-6 and 7-5 teams just seem odd to me.

I'm sure part of my non-fandom is due to me being from the Northeast and going to a college without a football team and a grad school where the hockey team had higher attendance than the Division 1AA football team. But hey, it does give me my Saturdays in the fall to do stuff and allow me more leeway to watch NFL on Sunday, which is the only sport I watch now (despite me usually being seen in a NY Mets hat).

Just to answer the original question, the Celebration Bowl is an FCS (formerly 1-AA) bowl between the champions of two all-HBCU conferences, so Air Force wouldn't be eligible since it's not FCS and not an HBCU.

Anybody else totally psyched for tonight’s huge games? I think this is one of the best final fours there has ever been. I’ve got LSU and tOSU winning tonight (although I love Clemson and so does my son Jake, so if they win it’s all good) with Ohio State winning it all.

LSU vs Clemson should be amazing. The no.1 pick in this up coming NFL draft vs next years no.1 pick. Burrows vs Lawrence. Should be a classic!

PS: Jeff Okudah is going to be a beast in the NFL. He might be more impressive than Chase Young.
