Harley Race (2) v. Road Warrior Animal (34) w/Paul Ellering
Morgan Dollar makes the bold move of sending Ellering to the back before the bell and the fans are on the edge of their seats as we get underway. Race stuns the Road Warrior with a punch to the face and follows with a back suplex. VERTICAL SUPLEX. Animal powers out of the cover (R9/P2) but Race catches Animal as he is getting to his feet and plants in the middle of the ring with a PILEDRIVER. This one is over quickly (R2/P5) as Race advances to the round of 16. Snake Eyes bites another competitor . . .
Stan Lane advances via a bye.
Interestingly, his upcoming match with Stan Lane will be the third straight round in which Race has faced a “tag team” competitor making his path of match ups so far being one of the more, if not the most, favourable of the tournament this year.
Up next . . .
The Crusher (10) v. Gorgeous George (42) w/Cherie Dupré
and
Curt Hennig (7) v. Terry Gordy (26)

Thanks to everyone taking the time to post a prediction for the next set of matches. The Crusher (10) v. Gorgeous George (42) w/Cherie Dupré George takes is time preparing for action on the floor driving the fans nuts. Once in the ring, Morgan Dollar gives out strict instructions to both competitors and calls for the bell. George avoids a punch to the throat and sends Crusher into the ropes but his backdrop ends up in a piledriver. Crusher to the top but George recovers and knocks the ropes. Crusher is down in a heap. George grabs a leg. SPINNING TOE HOLD. Crusher kicks him off (R8/P3). George and Crusher battle on the corner which stops a George deathjump. Figure four leglock does more damage to the lower body and Crusher rolls to the floor. George gets out after him and Crusher takes over. Crusher goes to the top but a distraction from Dupré allows George to catch Crusher on the top . . . superplex! Small package with tights gets no count. George grabs a leg . . . SPINNING TOE HOLD. Middle of the ring. Crusher taps (R4/P4) and George moves onto the round of 16. Curt Hennig (7) v. Terry Gordy (26) Morgan Dollar once again has some intense instructions for both competitors before the bell. The locks up are intense and long before Gordy opens with a right hand punch. A waste lock takedown gets the action to the mat with Gordy on top. Both men back to their feet… lariat! HENNIG GOES INSIDE OUT! 1, 2, kick out (R4/P2). Gordy works the neck with a tombstone piledriver. Whip to the corner . . . double reversal . . . Hennig charges, Gordy backdrops. Hennig crawls back into the ring but gets tossed back to the floor. Dr. Mike Lano captures the ringside brawl up close. Hennig with the upper hand. Sleeper slows down Gordy. Gordy collapses and just makes the ropes (R4/P2). Gordy is wobbly . . . HENNIG PLEX. 1, 2, 3 (R3/P5). Nice job luke929 Up next . . . Buddy Rogers (3) v. Rob Van Dam (30) w/Bill Alfonso and Bobby Fulton (14) v. Larry Zbyszko (46)
