April 11, 2090 Victoria, any luck locking down eight-aught?Actually, yes. I'm still locked out from altering the master AI, and I get frozen out of any subsystem it's reprogramming, but I've got a trace on it. So at least we'll know when it's about to make a change.Yeah--we just won't know what the change is going to be.Hey, it's better than nothing.I know, I know. Just keep a close eye on it. This is our first night in Sioux City, and I want everything to go smooth like silk.Roger that, boss.Alright, we've got ten minutes to curtain. Go ahead and run a systems check. You've got it. Stationary Emitter Array online…Drone Emitter Alpha online…Sparks. Lasers. Smoke. Explosions. Pulsing lyrics... The silence, the silence, the blinding ultraviolence... Knocking at your door, pacing back and forth... What now?Jump Street vs. The Midnight Express (with Jim Cornette)Referee: Tommy Young Bobby Eaton locked up with Chaz Taylor to start this match, and Eaton worked the youngster over pretty severely, bouncing him around the ring until Taylor finally made it to his corner to tag in "Rocker" Marty Jannetty. The Rocker locked up with Eaton and flung him into the ropes, but ducked his head too soon; Eaton dove over his head, grabbed his hips, and rolled him up with a sunset flip for one...two...three! WINNERS: The Midnight Express via pinfall (3:03) -- "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. "Macho Man" Randy SavageReferee: Dave Hebner Danielson made short work of his opponent. After they locked up, the American Dragon whipped Savage into the turnbuckle, then followed him in, mounted the second rope, and drove ten fists into his head while the referee counted along. Macho Man stumbled forward and fell to the mat, leaving him easy prey for a flying knee drop by Danielson, who followed up with his CATTLE MUTILATION for a surprisingly quick win. WINNER: "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson via submission (1:36) -- The Fantastics vs. The Miracle Violence ConnectionReferee: Danny Davis Prior to this match, it was announced that the winners would get a title shot against CWA World Tag Team Champions, the Road Warriors. Terry Gordy started things off by snap maring Tommy Rogers to the mat, then nearly taking his head off with a lariat. Fulton managed to scurry to his corner to tag in Tommy Rogers, who went after Gordy with a trifecta of dropkicks--the last of which sent Bam Bam crashing into his own corner, where he could tag in his partner, Steve Williams. Dr. Death tore across the ring and took Rogers down with a clothesline, then powered him up for a Doctor Bomb, only for Rogers to twist in mind air and drop down for a sunset flip, which barely even earned a one-count. For the next ten minutes, neither team was able to maintain an advantage, due largely to some great defensive teamwork. Williams and Gordy finally secured a prolonged advantage, ironically, after Williams was taken down by a double dropkick. Bobby Fulton climbed to the top rope, but Williams intercepted him and sent him crashing to the mat with a huge superplex, and Fulton came up holding his knee. Gordy was tagged in, and immediately targeted Fulton's knee with a figure four leg lock and an STF before hitting him with a mighty power bomb that would have ended the match if Tommy Rogers had not come in to make the save. Fulton continued to absorb punishment and somehow keep himself off the mat--he even managed to reverse his fortunes several times, but in every case, a quick tag by the MVC cut his rally short. Gordy finally went for one punch too many; Fulton ducked beneath Bam Bam's powerful fist, somersaulted across the ring, and tagged in his well-rested partner. Rogers went right after Gordy with kicks and forearms, and then he went for a big hip toss--which was an enormous mistake. Gordy blocked the move, laid Rogers out with a short clothesline, and blasted him with a POWER BOMB for one...two...and Fulton dove in to make the save! Gordy tagged in Williams while Rogers rolled out to the arena floor to catch his breath, and Dr. Death ran along the ring apron and dove off, taking both himself and Tommy Rogers out with a flying clothesline. Both men lay in a heap on the floor and Danny Davis started his ten-count. Ultimately, Williams was able to stagger to his feet at seven and roll into the ring at nine, while Rogers was just too beat up to answer Davis' count. WINNERS: The Miracle Violence Connection via count out (22:31) *½ Lumberjack Match: Lou Thesz vs. Gorgeous George
Referee: Joey Marella The lumberjacks for this match were Chaz Taylor, Marty Jannetty, Bryan Danielson, Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake, CWA World Heavyweight Champion "Handsome" Harley Race, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Luke Williams, and Butch Miller. Gary Michael Cappetta was just finishing his ring introductions when Gorgeous George, out of his element without Cherie Dupré at ringside, pushed him aside and attacked Thesz with a handful of "Georgie" pins, raking them across his opponent's face. Thesz doubled over in pain, and George took that opportunity to rake his fingernails down his opponent's back. Mistake. Thesz's eyes widened in anger, he straightened up, and grabbed George's wrist, and flung him into the corner, following him in with a huge clothesline. George went down courtesy of a THESZ PRESS, but somehow he got his shoulder up at two and nine-tenths. George staggered to his feet, only to fall prey to another THESZ PRESS. There was no miracle kick-out this time, and the elder statesmen of the CWA took home the win. WINNER: Lou Thesz via pinfall (1:50) * Pre-Match Interview: CWA World Heavyweight Champion "Handsome" Harley Race
As the champion made his way to the ring for his title defense, Gordon Solie intercepted him in the aisle to get his thoughts on facing Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake. Race merely smirked and vowed not only to retain his title, but to humiliate Beefcake, to humble him, and to make him kneel down and kiss his shiny boots. Beefcake must have heard enough, because all at once, he came tearing down the aisle and jumped the champ from behind. Solie quickly scurried back to his seat as the challenger laid into Race with punches and a high knee to the face, then rolled him into the ring. CWA World Heavyweight Championship Match: "Handsome" Harley Race (with Bobby "the Brain" Heenan) vs. Brutus "the Barber" BeefcakeReferee: Morgan Dollar As if getting jumped prior to the match wasn't bad enough, prior to calling for the bell, Morgan Dollar ejected Bobby Heenan from ringside, fearing his interference during the match. The Brain naturally pitched a fit, but quickly complied once Dollar started a count, promising to award the match--and the title--to Beefcake if Heenan was still there when he reached ten. Race was clearly dazed from the pre-match beatdown, allowing Beefcake to get off to a hot start with a pair of atomic drops. The Barber whipped Race into the ropes, but telegraphed a back body drop, and Race put on the brakes, catching the challenger in a small package for a one-count. As Beefcake climbed back to his feet, Race charged at him and clotheslined him over the top rope. Beefcake landed hard outside the ring and Morgan Dollar started his ten-count. The Barber tried to make it back to his feet, but he had been knocked silly after the tumble over the top rope, and was counted out.
WINNER and STILL CWA World Heavyweight Champion: "Handsome" Harley Race via count out (3:01) *½Post-Match Drama
After a brief celebration, Race left the ring and made his way up the aisle, passing by "Luscious" Johnny Valiant as he made his way down to ringside with a sheaf of papers in his hand. He crouched down by the fallen Barber and said "See? This is what happens when you're on your own. Sign the contract and we'll have your back. The past is in the past--you have the word of 'Luscious' Johnny V." He handed the paperwork and a pen to Beefcake, who stared at him for a moment before hesitantly signing the document. Valiant gave a whoop of triumph, helped Beefcake to his feet, and helped him walk up the aisle and to the back. Tyson Events Center Capacity: 9,657 Paid Attendance: SELLOUT Cyberlink Views: 127, 381

April 25, 2090Melanie? What? You seem upset. You think? Our numbers are tanking, our last two shows have sucked ass, we have a rogue AI running the-- So...yes to upset? Shut up, Scott. I see you changed up the intro again, too. Yes. Benjamin liked this music better for the intro, and I agree with him. Oh. Benjamin liked it... Don't make me hurt you.
Sparks. Lasers. Smoke. Explosions. And a pulsing theme...
Yeah I get it, you're an outcast, always under attack, Always coming in last, bringing up the past, No one owes you anything! I think you need a shotgun blast, a kick in the ass, So paranoid, watch your back!
Oh my, here we go...
In-Ring Promo: "Luscious" Johnny V
With Marty Jannetty and Chaz Taylor already in the ring, "Luscious" Johnny V came out to the ring dressed to the nines in his red sequined jacket and snatched Gary Michael Cappetta's microphone right out of his hand. He claimed that signing Brutus Beefcake ("No more of this 'Barber' nonsense!") to his stable was the lates step in his master plan. "You see," he said, "Johnny V is a gold collector, and I'm going to start with tag team gold." He jerked a thumb at the team of Jump Street and claimed he had paid "these two jamooks" two thousand dollars--each--to come out for an exhibition match against his new tag team. Without further fanfare, he motioned to the back, and the curtain parted. Beefcake was the first man to emerge, dressed in yellow and black tiger stripes and with his hair newly cut, and he was followed closely by his "new old" partner...Greg "the Hammer" Valentine!
Jump Street vs. The Dream Team (with "Luscious" Johnny V) Referee: Joey Marella
Beefcake and Jannetty faced off to start the match, but it quickly turned into the sort of "exhibition" where the heels utterly dominate the plucky underdogs. No matter which member of Jump Street found his way into the ring, the Dream Team had an answer for everything he tried and countered with high-powered, merciless offense. Beefcake must have been training with Valentine over the last two weeks, because he pulled out a figure four leg lock and had Taylor screaming in agony. A tag to Valentine spelled more trouble for Taylor: a knee drop across his weakened leg and, after he was thrown out of the ring, a Hot Shot onto the ring apron. After tossing Taylor back into the ring, Valentine tagged in his partner, who hit an inverted atomic drop and rolled his opponent up with a small package for the win.
WINNERS: The Dream Team via pinfall (7:29) ½
Hillbilly Jim vs. "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (with Virgil) Referee: Dave Hebner
The early stages of this match came down to Hillbilly Jim's power advantage. No matter what DiBiase attempted: a hammerlock, a shoulder block, a vertical suplex, Jim was able to power his way out and reverse his fortunes. The Million Dollar Man absorbed a great deal of punishment, including a big boot to the face that left him checking to make sure he had all his teeth. The turning point came around the six minute mark when DiBiase raked Jim's eyes to escape a bear hug, then rolled under the bottom rope to catch his breath. The big man followed his opponent to the floor and charged, but DiBiase caught him with a drop toe hold and drove his head into the ring steps. Back in the ring, DiBiase clamped on his MILLION DOLLAR DREAM, and Jim--half out already from the impact with the steel steps--quickly succumbed.
WINNER: "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase via submission (7:59) --
Pre-Match Interview: Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat
Prior to his match with the Iron Sheik, Gordon Solie caught up with Ricky Steamboat in the aisle. Steamboat admitted that the Sheik would be a tough opponent, but he believed that--with the fans behind him--he had a real shot at victory. The crowd cheered him wildly as he climbed into the ring.
Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat vs. The Iron Sheik Referee: Morgan Dollar
Despite Steamboat's proclamation, he dominated most of the early going in this match, using his speed and agility advantage to keep the Sheik back on his heels and struggling to keep up. The Iranian did manage some offense with a host of suplexes, but Steamboat's conditioning allowed him to absorb the punishment and rally back, time and time again. Steamboat had the Sheik in trouble after a hanging atomic drop, then hit a picture-perfect FLYING BODY PRESS for one...two...thre--no! The Sheik just got a shoulder up.
After the very near-fall, the Sheik rolled out of the ring to get his bearings, and unfortunately, Steamboat played right into his hands. When the Dragon reached over the top rope to pull his opponent back into the ring, the Sheik grabbed him by the neck and clotheslined him on the top rope. A fierce clothesline put Steamboat down for a two count, then the Sheik removed his boot and, despite a warning from Morgan Dollar, blasted Steamboat in the head with it, opening a nasty cut on his forehead. The Sheik really worked Steamboat over after that, focusing on the cut, until the Dragon's face was a bloody mask. Weak from blood loss and barely conscious, when the Sheik finally locked on his CAMEL CLUTCH, Steamboat simply passed out.
WINNER: The Iron Sheik via submission (18:39) *****
"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. "Ravishing" Rick Rude (with Bobby "the Brain" Heenan) Referee: Tommy Young
If you blinked, you might have missed this match. As soon as Tommy Young called for the bell, Danielson unloaded with a roundhouse kick that dropped Rude to his hands and knees. The American Dragon hooked The Ravishing one's arms and clamped on his CATTLE MUTILATION, and Rude was forced to submit almost immediately.
WINNER: "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson via submission (1:08) --
CWA World Tag Team Championship Match: The Road Warriors (ch) (with "Precious" Paul Ellering) vs. The Miracle Violence Connection Referee: Danny Davis
Steve Williams started the match against Animal, and the Tag Team Champion scored immediately with a press slam for a long two-count. Animal tagged in his partner, who went to the top rope, but Williams shook off the cobwebs, climbed up from the inside of the ring, and took Hawk down with a huge superplex. Hawk fought back for a moment, but a tag to Terry Gordy stopped his momentum in its tracks. The former Freebird worked over the champion for sixty seconds or so before tagging Williams back in. He and Hawk locked up, struggled into the ropes, and fell between them to the ring floor. Instantly, Dr. Death began pounding on the Road Warrior with clubbing forearms, but it was only a matter of time before Hawk started fighting back. At some point, referee Danny Davis had seen enough and called for the bell...but he only disqualified the Miracle Violence Connection, drawing boos from the crowd.
WINNERS and STILL CWA World Tag Team Champions: The Road Warriors via disqualification (6:06) *½

Ironically, I had rolled the instruction that says he wanted a decisive winner, so all DQ and count out probabilities went down, and PIN attempts went up. Steamboat just hung really tough. Either that, or Morgan Dollar sucks at his job.

I’ll bet he’d be fair.
