I kept forgetting to check if Sami's injury was legit and today I looked and it is. He broke his ankle doing a suicide dive. He is out until at least the spring. This sucks as he and Eddie had a great story going on with Moose and Morrisey. Plus Sami was really pushing to be the face and flag bearer for Impact. Now he has to miss BFG. I hope he can come back sooner rather than later and pick up where he left off.

Turns out I had to be smarter than Impact+ to watch this week. I went to the "recent Impacts" menu like usual to watch but it wasn't loaded Thursday like usual. I tried again Friday early evening but still nothing. I sent them a message not really expecting an answer. Late Friday night I tried again, nothing. So an idea came to me. I checked the years menu, scrolled to 2021. Sure enough it was there.
A really fun show again. The Inspiration letter segment was funny. Better than a lot of humor WWE tries but not a high bar I guess. It was sad seeing the finale of Swinger's Palace. One of the best finales in TV history. So many great memories. Just a bummer that both Spinnerellas struck out with the men they liked. Plus who knew that Spinenrella #2 wasn't Spinnerella #2's actual name. The only disappointing thing was Josh's poor job during the battle royal. Not that D-Lo helped much. They missed some big spots and story telling. I mean that is a big part of being part of the announcement team. Shameful.
While I like seeing guys from other companies in the Impact Zone I just hope they don't do like ROH and rely on them too much and push them over there own guys too much either. So far, so good.

A fun show this week and nice lead in to the BFG PPV. The segment focusing on Josh Alexander was done very well. I would love to see more like that. Not each week but once a month focusing on a different wrestler or tag team would be very cool. Rosemary was awesome as ever. Her suit was on point and all the references in that segment to past happenings were wonderful. She might be slowing down her in ring work due to her age and if that is so I just hope Impact realizes how great she is outside of it and get her more air time.
BFG is going to be really good. We know we are getting a new champion via the X division. I sure hope it is Trey. I mean if not now, when? The tag team match is going to be real good. It is more a NJPW history type match but still. Sounds like we will get at least one new face in the Call Your Shot match. The main event has potential to be MOTY if given proper time. After work Saturday I am probably gonna grab some wings and go home and order BFG.

Did anyone watch BTI on AXSTV yesterday? I was wondering if they bleeped Steve Maclin from his BFG match. They did not bleep it when they aired BTI on Impact+.
Nice follow up to BFG this week. Covered most of the big story lines coming out of the PPV. I am excited to see what Moose does as the World champ. I was excited for this show but when watching BTI they said Rocky Romero was challenging Trey for the X title I got super hyped. That match delivered. The rest of the card was good even with a lot of talent not even seen or mentioned. They are almost at the point where they could use a second show, just an hour, that really focuses on the main story lines that can not get time on Impact. I need to check out Xplosion but from what I remember it is just matches of mostly new comers or talent not involved in a story line. Looking forward to next week's main event.

This week was an amazing episode. Entertained from start to finish. One small mess up was they filmed the match between Decay and the Undead Bridesmaids which Iiconics watched at one time then taped the Iiconics response which was supposed to be after the match as a different time as obvious by the outfit change. But it is minor so can be overlooked. Also I wanted Morrissey to win the title shot against Moose but I see it makes more sense having Eddie win it. They are setting things up for Turning Point very nicely. I am really looking forward to the card. A stacked show and it is free. Sweet.

I'd have to say, Impact has moved into that #3 spot behind WWE & AEW as a major player in the industry! Quality shows every week, signing good free agents & not wasting their talent. Having a good relationship with other promotions like New Japan & AEW have made a difference too. I feel bad for Ring of Honor, who was right there, but now on the outside, looking in. Impact is a fun promotion again! Kudos to the management for getting the job done! 👍

They offer something different than the other promotions as they focus on pure wrestling more and while I like story lines, segments and over the top craziness sometimes I respect the product they provided. I would not go out of my way to watch it but if I could find it easy enough, like when a local Sinclair carried it or when some sports networks showed episodes a couple weeks late on Friday nights, I would tune in and enjoy it. It is hard for me to keep up with all the promotions but the more the merrier in my eyes. Here is to ROH returning strong while also seeing NWA build up.

Yeah, Covid dicked alot of promotion's momentum! In 2019, RoH, NWA, MLW, etc. We're on fire! Now the struggle to keep anything going. Impact has done well keeping things interesting, that's hard to do with no crowds. WWE better watch out!

Let's not get carried away. We are far from WWE level. But that is fine. The last year or so I have been enjoying Impact more than normal. They have worked hard to give everyone a character and some level of a storyline. Almost every match has meaning be it for gold or just the title hunt or it is tied into storyline. It is reminding me a bit of WCW from 96-98 where there is a bit of everything so most anyone can find something they enjoy,
