Thanks for catching the error cruefan68 . I am glad you enjoyed the Action Update. "Action Update" was a feature in the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Super Colour Specials which were of course the inspiration for this federation. I thought I would sprinkle in an action update in every once and while to provide some insight as to what is happening and what is coming up in future shows. The timing seemed right for an update with the departure of Abdullah and with some long term booking ideas set up until Card 20. I am beginning to turn my mind to Night of Dreams 2 (Card #38) which will make the start of my second year for this territory. I am kicking around the idea of a "Golden Ticket" battle royal [no idea where that idea came from ... LOL!] to determine the challenger for the NOD title or perhaps some form of tournament. Perhaps the dice/booking will present a challenger. Thank you for following along all this time.

Card 015: National Wrestling Legends Alliance @ The Scope, Norfolk, Virginia Disco Inferno destroyed George South. Perhaps another confidence builder for Inferno who gave Bobo Brazil some anxious moments recently as Inferno had not trouble putting way South in the opener with his LAST DANCE finisher. Lenny Lane over Sam Houston by disqualification. This one did not last long after Morgan Dollar called for the opening bell. Lane controlled the action and after a Boston Crab Houston regrouped on the floor. Lane had other ideas and came out after Lane but a backdrop sent Lane up and over into the ringside table which broke from the impact. The fans were chanting and Dollar opted to call for the disqualification despite the defensive nature of Houston’s move. Angelo Poffo defeated Johnny Mantell. Poffo was making his debut. This was a very competitive encounter. Mantell got the early jump but Poffo ran him shoulder first into the ring post shoulder first. Poffo worked the shoulder and picked up near falls with running clotheslines and a top rope neck snap. Mantell was able to get back into the match with a block of a charge in the corner with a backdrop that sent Poffo to the floor. Mantell took over but a swinging neckbreaker only resulted in two count. The action went back and forth and Poffo was able to catch Mantell with a back elbow smash for a near fall and then hit a NECKBREAKER for the win. Jackie Fargo beat “Wild” Bull Curry to win the Night of Dreams Hardcore Championship in a Brass Knuckles Match. The seemly unstoppable Curry met his match tonight as this was a complete beat down from the moment Morgan Dollar called for the bell to the count of ten that ended the match. Fargo made early use of the brass knuckles and a steel chair to render Curry a bloody mess. Dollar was knocked down about half way through the match but recovered after only four moves as Fargo continued to beat Curry from pillar to post. Fargo finished things grabbing the ring bell and clocking Curry with the weapon dead center of the ring. Dollar counted to ten and Fargo was the new champion.
Mr. Hughes pinned Diamond Dallas Page. The fans were solidly behind Page who came to the ring though ringside. The cheers did little to help out Page tonight however as he struggled to get another going outside of a single Russian Leg Sweep. Hughes reverses a whip to the corner and connected with a big boot to the face. Hughes than planted Page with back to back SPIKE SLAMS and picked up the win.
Nora Greenwald beat Susan Green. Nora Greenwald was not in a good mood and had some choice words for Morgan Dollar who was anything but impressed. Green was able to dominate the action after the bell countering everything that Greenwald tried and then launching her own attack with dropkicks and take downs. A standing dropkick connected for a near fall. Green send Greenwald into the corner hard and followed in but Greenwald countered with a stiff clothesline for a near fall of her own. Greenwald then hit a FLIPPING SEATED SENTON and picked up the comeback victory.
National Wrestling Legends Association Tag Team Champions Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette beat Sheepherders. Morgan Dollar has strict instructions for both teams before the bell and the fans wondered how the official expect to enforce the rules with these two teams squaring off. Defensive tags ruled the early action with both teams making key tags to keep things going back and forth. Sheepherders connected with a DOUBLE GUTBUSTER but Stan Lane was able to kick out of the cover. Lane gave way to Bobby Eaton and the Express began to press the attack. Eaton connected with Divorce Court to Luke Williams and then joined Lane for a FLAPJACK on Williams to retain the titles.
“Dr. Death” Steve Williams defeated Ted DiBiase in a Steel Cage Match. DiBiase gained the upper hand much to the displeasure of the fans. He rammed Williams into the cage wall busting him open and then loaded up his glove to beat Williams to a bloody mess. Williams kicked out two covers at the last second keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. Williams drew on the fans support and mounted an impressive comeback. Three times DiBiase was pressed slammed in the middle of the ring. A Doctor Bomb nearly ended it. Williams then battering rammed DiBiase into the cage wall busting him open before crushing him with a second Doctor Bomb to get the victory. Top Ten: 1. Lou Thesz, Night of Dreams Undisputed World’s Heavyweight Champion (3) 2. Jackie Fargo, Night of Dreams Hardcore Champion (8) 3. Johnny Valentine, National Wrestling Legends Alliance Champion (1) 4. “Wild” Bull Curry (2) 5. “Dr. Death” Steve Williams (6) 6. Ted DiBiase (4) 7. Harley Race (5) 8. Bobo Brazil (7) 9. Gorgeous George (-) 10. Mr. Hughes (10)

Card 016: North Eastern Wrestling Legends @ Christian Youth Center, Scranton, PA
“The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith downed Nikolai Volkoff by disqualification. Volkoff sings and the fans boo. Smith gets the immediate upper hand and plants Volkoff with a cobra clutch suplex which forces the Russian powerhouse to the floor. Smith follows but finds himself suddenly outnumbered when Iron Sheik comes to ringside with a chair and cracks Smith across the back. Hacksaw Jim Duggan arrives quickly with his 2x4 to clear the attackers from ringside. Lou Albano, Greg Valentine & Larry Zbyszko defeated Too Cool & Mikey Whipwreck. Albano, Valentine & Zbsyzko have some stern words for Morgan Dollar who appears shaken before the bell. Albano & Whipwreck have an exchange that ends in a stalemate and Valentine tags in but the speed of Taylor, Christopher and Whipwreck takes over. THE WORM is released to a huge pop but Valentine kicks out. Christopher connects with a sunset flip powerbomb to the floor that has the fans out of their seats and nearly kills The Hammer. Christopher cannot capitalize and the momentum switches lead by Albano and Zbyszko. Taylor gets trapped in the ring and all three of his opponents gets shots in before Zbyszko finishes him with a PILEDRIVER while the pin save is blocked.
2 Cold Scorpio bested Steve Corino by disqualification. Corino took the early advantage in this one after the opening few minutes of counters with some questionable tactics. Corino brought a chair into the action shoving the ringside weapon into the stomach of his opponent. Corino covered for a near fall and then carried on his attack. Scorpio blocked a mule kick to the groin but his own backdrop moments later was countered with a piledriver. Corino continued to press his attack but took things too far when he decided to attack with a chair a second time and this time the referee has seen enough and disqualified Corino. Corino laid out Scorpio with an OLD SCHOOL EXPLUSION and left the ring to great heat. Iron Sheik pinned Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Sheik gets on the mic and lets everyone know what he thinks of America and his opponent to great heat. Duggan hits the ring and it is chaos. Morgan Dollar has strict instructions before the bell. The go to the floor almost immediately and Duggan slams Sheik onto the concrete as the crowd chants. Duggan hammers away at his opponent including turnbuckle pinches that has the fans counting along. A FLYING SPEAR only gets a two count. Sheik catches Duggan on the top and tosses him to the mat. Sheik comes back with series of suplexes and a chest breaker. To the floor and Duggan trips over Dr. Mike Lano allowing Sheik to attack with stomps. Sheik lands a Camel Rider for a near fall and then traps Duggan in a CAMEL CLUTCH but Duggan makes the ropes. He also kicks out after an immediate Camel Rider. Duggan comes back with a USA Chant but Sheik catches him with a loaded boot and it is enough for the tainted three count. A bloodied Duggan is irate after the match and attacked Sheik from behind. Nikolai Volkoff arrives but Davey Boy Smith is out as well and they brawl on the floor while Duggan grabs his 2x4 and wears Sheik out with the weapon. Duggan then takes off Sheiks own boot and lays him out with a blow between the eyes. Sheik is stretchered out of ringside. Madison Rayne came back against Ida Mae Martinez. Rayne was in all kinds of trouble from the opening bell but managed to score a near fall with a ROLL UP WITH TIGHTS and never looked back. Martinez was off balance after that point and Rayne connected with a Rayne Drop for another near fall and then a diving spear that sent Martinez outside. A slam on the floor lead to a near count-out before Rayne finished the match with a RAYNE CHECK.
North East Wrestling Legends Champion Jerry Lynn over Buddy Rogers by disqualification. Buddy Rogers is even more confident then usual before the bell and has some choice words for Morgan Dollar who responds in kind much to the pleasure of the fans. Rogers takes over the match after a few minutes and tries to get a pin using the ropes but Dollar is wise to the Nature Boy both times. Rogers has further words for Dollar and then arrogantly tosses Lynn to the floor three times in a row. On the third time, Rogers goes out after Lynn and grabs a chair. Lynn sees it coming, avoids the attack, takes the chair away and clocks this challenger with it. Dollar calls for the bell and ringside groans but then cheers when Lynn is announced the winner as it was Rogers who introduced the chair! Rogers is furious and Lynn continues his title reign. “Macho Man” Randy Savage downed Ivan Koloff in a Texas Death Match. The fans were braced for all sorts of mayhem and they did not go home disappointed. There was plenty of brawling in and out of the ring. Koloff made us of his chains to choke out Savage and Savage later returned the favour. The Macho Man had the fans solidly behind him and they cheered as he made us a chair to lay out Koloff late in the match before grabbing the ring bell and crashing it down onto the top of Koloff’s head from the top of the corner. Koloff was split open and Savage mounted the corner for his FLYING ELBOW SMASH to get the three count. Night of Dreams World Tag Team Champions Rock ‘n’ Roll Express over Valiant Brothers by disqualification. Morgan Dollar is in charge of the main event and has strict instructions for both teams. The action is fast paced as the champions go to work immediately but the Valiant’s brawling turns thing around. A DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE to Ricky Morton nets a two count before “Handsome” Jimmy Valiant downs Morton with a fist drop for a near fall. The Express draw on the fans support for the hot tag but the Valiants immediately stop the momentum change and go to work on Robert Gibson. The action soon evens out with both sides making defensive tags until they go to the floor. Jimmy Valiant grabs one of the tag team title belts and decks Gibson with the belt. Gibson goes down and Dollar calls for the disqualification. The Valiant turn their attention to Morton and leave him laying after a SPINNING NECKBREAKER from “Luscious” Johnny Valiant. ACTION UPDATE: NEWL has confirmed that Iron Sheik was injured during tonight’s event and is expected to be about of action for two cards and will make his return to ring on Card 22 at the Philadelphia Spectrum where he will face Hacksaw Jim Duggan in a Texas Death Match!

Card 017: American Wrestling Legends Association @ Showboat Sports Pavilion, Las Vegas, NV
Original Midnight Express w/Rock Riddle over Badland Express. The Express had a new manager in their corner following the departure of Bobby Heenan a few cards ago but the transition was seamless as they went move for move and tag for tag with their opponents. The Express combined for the HUMAN COUGH DROP on Marty Jannetty but a timely save by “Jumping” Jim Brunzell kept the action going. Brunzell was able to get the hot tag but the Express get the momentum back without any real trouble. The Express connect with a SLINGSHOT SPLASH to Jannetty and Brunzell cannot make the save as Condrey makes the cover for the win. D’Lo Brown defeated Val Venis. Morgan Dollar calls for the bell and this one ends before it really gets going. Brown connects with Sky High and then finishes off Venis with the LO DOWN. Impressive debut for Brown. Stars & Stripes beat Alexis Smirnoff & Boris Zhukov. Morgan Dollar was in charge of the action that saw both teams make key tags to keep the momentum going back and forth. Neither team could get the upper hand but the Russians were able to cut off Del Wilkes for a few minutes. Zhukov sent Wilkes into the ropes and on the rebound both men go for a clothesline. Wilkes was up first and a tag team Marcus Alexander Bagwell lead to a STAR SPANGLED SUPLEX and a sudden win for the popular tag team duo. King Kong Bundy w/Rock Riddle downed Jimmy Snuka by disqualification. Bundy was fired up with his new manager in the corner and pushed around Snuka with his size advantage. The action went to the floor and Snuka grabbed a chair and cracked Bundy across the back with the weapon. The referee threw out the match but both men traded blows. Riddle joined the action and Snuka was in some trouble but Badland Express came to the ring followed by the Midnight Express. The faces were able to clear the ring and send the heels to back much to the pleasure of those in attendance. Terry Gordy over The Crusher by disqualification in a best of three falls match 2:0. Morgan Dollar called for the bell and Crusher scores with an early neck-breaking clothesline in the corner. Gordy needs to recover on the floor but Crusher is out after him and cracks him with a chair. Gordy goes down in a heap and Dollar calls for the disqualification. Crusher is down by a fall but Gordy is a bloody mess as the second floor gets underway. Crusher clamps on a bear hug squeezing the life out of Gordy who again makes it to the floor to recover. Crusher follows him and uses a chair to choke out Gordy at ringside. Dollar again calls for the disqualification. This one is over way to quick for the fans and Gordy is left in a heap despite being the winner.
Stan Hansen & Big Van Vader crushed Flying Redheads. Billy Red Lyons scores with an arm drag and twist but Hansen connects with a boot to the midsection and then unleashes a LARIAT. Red Bastien jumps in for the save but Vader stops him cold and the referee makes the three count after just three moves! Sherri Martel beat Night of Dreams Women’s Champion Trish Stratus to win the Title. The match stated out slowly and Martel was the aggressor but could never get Stratus in a position to go for the win despite completely dominating the Champion. Stratus came back in a flurry leading to a STRATUSFACTION but Martel kicked out at the last second. Martel began to slowly take back the match and then moved to a series of moves for near falls from Morgan Dollar including a choke on the top rope, clothesline and running knee lift. Stratus rocked the fans with a superplex counter in the corner but could not capitalized with any momentum. Martel resumed control and then ended it with a surprize submission with a spinning toe hold. American Wrestling Legends Association Champion The Destroyer retained against Bruiser Brody. The fans were buzzing as Morgan Dollar called for the bell. Destroyer was able to counter the attack of Brody early on but a tombstone piledriver crushed Destrouer and sent him to the floor. Brody smashed Destroyer off the ring post his white mask was soon blood read. Destroyer barely makes it under the ropes and the battle carries on. Destroyer is able to catch Brody with a clothesline in the corner and that turns the momentum of the match. Destroyer comes off the top with a Bombs Away and Brody just kicks out at the last second. Destroyer has the momentum on his side and presses his attack with knee drops and an airplane spine. Destroyer then traps Brody in a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK to earn the submission.

Another great run of shows my friend. I loved the cage match between Doc and Dibiase as well as the chain match between Savage and Koloff. Very cool to see Jackie Fargo win the NOD Hardcore title from Wild Bull Curry in a great brawl. The Destroyer over Bruiser Brody was solid and it was great seeing Sherri Martel taking the women's title rom Trish Stratus. Also, Hansen and Vader look unstoppable. What a beast of a tag team.
So much great action going on here. Bravo!
