Maybe a good way to do it would be to have the winner be the one to escape through the door of the cage, but the door is only opened after say 20 minutes of the match has elapsed. That would give a plausible reason why people wouldn't just rush to get out as soon as the match starts. Well it used to be the door was locked and the ref would only unlock it as someone tried to escape. At the start of a match it wouldn't work as opponent would attack the guy asking ref to unlock it.

The blue fence was a WWF gimmick. I think I read somewhere that they used the blue cage because the cameras had a better time seeing the action in the ring.
I still prefer the fencing though, otherwise we wouldn't have that great Mankind VS 'Taker match where Mick fell TWICE! No blue cage was gonna have THIS:

WWF Blue cage matches are legendary . Saying that I think more violence happened with the more recent fence cage matches ?

I am actually watching a live H20 match right now in which the cage is made out of wood.

Definitely fence. The blue cage looked too much like a toy to me.
