Charlotte Flair Taking Extended Break From WWE, Could Last Until 2021 Royal Rumble
Charlotte Flair is going on an extended break and it looks like we won’t see “The Queen” on WWE TV for a significant amount of time.
Flair was attacked by Nia Jax on Monday’s episode of RAW, with WWE putting out a storyline statement about her being evaluated for a “potential collarbone fracture” due to the attack.
Charlotte Flair is being evaluated for an injury following the ruthless attack by Nia Jax on Raw, WWE.com has learned.
Flair had already suffered an injury in a brawl with Jax prior to her Raw Women’s Title Match with Asuka. After coming up short against The Empress of Tomorrow, The Queen was ruthlessly attacked in the backstage area by Jax, who slammed a road case into Flair’s arm. While the specifics of The Queen’s injury have not been fully determined, it is believed she may have suffered a potential collarbone fracture.
Stick with WWE’s digital and social platforms for more information on Charlotte Flair’s status as it becomes available.
We now know one reason she was legitimately written off of TV was to have surgery, according to a report from Dave Meltzer on last night’s episode of Wrestling Observer Live. It was not specified as to what the surgery was for, but Meltzer noted that it’s not a shoulder injury.
While there was initial hope that she might be back for SummerSlam, another report from talkSPORT‘s Alex McCarthy reveals that that is not the case. According to sources, there is a “0 percent chance Charlotte returns for SummerSlam” and it’s possible we might not see her until January 2021.
McCarthy went on to note that Charlotte’s hiatus is because she’s taking some personal time and having surgery, and while she’d be open to an earlier return for a good storyline, the belief is she will return in time for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in January.
