Just read the 2136 handbook and all I can say is wow.I like the new direction the GWF is going in.I think perhaps the Dark Menace is going to double cross Godsend but who knows.I love the commissioner system which will make for some interesting storylines.I love the Basilisk’s story.I also like the reduced roster although some of my favorite characters went away like Lope.I am looking forward to seeing where the Crime-Stoppers storyline goes.A grey set all in all.

So whatever happened to Witness? Also, there are enough couples in the GWF to start up a GWF Mixed Tag titles division.

So technically there are two commissioners that can try to one up each other and reverse each other’s decisions?

Going to be an interesting year. Initial thoughts... I like that the Royal Court are new characters and not alternate universe characters or zealots like Bishop Hell (II) was. That said I’m all full up on tributes/homages to the past with characters of the same name. I much prefer new talent continuing the cause of the past like Saber. I do get that this is an anniversary year/set though. I also like that their real names are in the book. Gives me hope they’ll move away from the names in the future. Like Basilisk. Getting an End of Days vibe that he may not be around for long. Love that the two tag teams have the same tag finishers. I’ve always wondered why solid tag teams didn’t have those. Don’t see myself using the transformation feature on the Chameleon Creatures just because I don’t want to be digging through old sets looking for cards. But I like the concept. My concept will be that they morph throughout the match and the audience catches glimpses of characters from the past. Like the upgrades to Tank and Climber. Flipping through the cards I saw Tank had dropped the Mortar. Was fearful for a moment that Climber might have done the same and was now just Climb but was glad that fear was unfounded. Glad a lot of dead weight was cut. I’d done about all I could do with Fhanna. Eager to see Count Necros on his own. I never bought Dark Menace as a hero manager so I had him approach The Dominion Way back in 2134 in a scene* eerily similar as to what’s in the 2136 handbook. At the end of 2135, Godsend tired of DM and banished him. Think he’ll sit out a year this year. Eager to see how Kralla does. Like the character a lot. May have Murtak play the love-sick angle that Tom put Tharkas in in the handbook. Glad he’s still a full timer. Also liked the hint about the possible Gladiator coming in 2137. Hero Epoch doesn’t do it for me but I’ll give it another year. Didn’t mind Overtime returning to the Titans but thought his dialogue was written weird. Just didn’t read like he has before. Only lost one champ, Sur, was relieved about that. Looking forward to getting the ball really rolling on 2136. Two commissioners. No charts. Wish there was. Women’s tag team titles were mentioned. What year were they introduced? * gwfpromoter.com/2019/01/12/2134-336-5/

So Champions of the Galaxy: Tournament of Champions was referred to here. Is that a Kronos thing?

So Champions of the Galaxy: Tournament of Champions was referred to here. Is that a Kronos thing? I was wondering the same thing and also wondering about Crime-Stoppers#2.

Just got my confirmation that it's the Best of Starter Set for later this year! Cool thing to have mentioned in there like that.

After last year I had really low expectations for 2136. I really hate 2135. So this is my review of 2136
Cards
Basilisk---I love the backstory and the concept. He well be fun to use in my hardcore division.
Chameleon Creatures----I am not sold on these two and may not use much if ever.
Climber--- I am still not a fan of the name. The card, art and stats, are a major improvement. Climber will be fun to use this year.
Death Knight--- Great art and like the backstory. He should be fun to use.
Exo-king---- I love the back story. The art and stats look good. he is a keeper.
Killer Queen----I love the art and back story. Since I don't have a ladies division, she will be a valet.
Krallia---Great art and will not using her because of lack of ladies division.
Tank-- I love the art and should be fun to use.
Saber----When I first saw the card I did not like it After reading the backstory, Saber should be fun to use.
Thoughts on the story line
1) I loved how Godsend was humbled. 2) What is Dark Menace's master plan? 2137 will be interesting. 3) Basilisk does not have a finisher and is dangerous. The future Torture Chamber match between Basilisk and Wolf will be violent.
Overall thoughts
2136 was alot better then that stinker 2135. This years edition should be fun to play.

10/10 from me. Years ago I never thought I'd like old characters being reborn but the way Tom has applied it is fantastic. Wonderful edition (they always are). I still buy it and read it all even though I won't allow myself to play. I am 34 years behind in my fed!
