I can get behind intergender wrestling, if promoters avoid a list of tropes I hate, that always seem to rear their heads in intergender matches...
1) male has to be the heel, and no matter how great of a guy he may be he gets cheap heat by being a totally dismissive misogynistic d-bag 🙄
You should be able to do this with regular characters, not cookie cutter "intergender stereotypes"
2) this weird love of having a 300 pound guy taking on the 100 pound lady, and he having to basically do all the moves to himself
A lady needs to be able to deal with the man's weight at a basic level. If she cannot then the match will look bad and potentially be dangerous.
3) the nut shot, huh? The face nut shots the heel usually for the win? Where is that good story telling? oh it is just lazy "the woman needs an advantage". If that's the story your telling I don't want to hear it.
4) the "female empowerment" storyline, the female wrestler is empowered by being in a good match, whether against a male or female opponent, she is held back by a cliche, same old storyline (see number 3)
So avoid these pitfalls and I may well like your intergender match (sadly 90% of local intergender matches are exactly this 👎)
