I have a question. Is this picture what the pork tenderloin looks like that you guys are talking about? If so, it looks great, but how do you eat it? Do you pick it up by the bun and start eating it on the sides of the pork? Forgive me if that is a stupid question, I just have never seen a sandwich like this where the meat is much bigger than the bun as it will be my first trip to Indiana and I have only been to Iowa once. It does look really good though and I am looking forward to hopefully trying one this weekend (but I will be ordering mine without the onions in the photo.) Yep that's it. Like I said, pizza pan size and regular bun. I think most people cut the extra off and eat it before or after the sandwich. If you can just pick it up and eat it will more power to ya.

Vegas, if you're looking for some really good food while you are in Indy, I suggest you go to The Coachman in Plainfield. Their Tenderloin is amazing, and they have house-made Italian dressing (and I think ranch dressing, but we always got the Italian) that was really, really good. It's a little bit of a drive to Plainfield, but not too bad. @poisonedshadows, thanks for the recommendation my friend! I looked at the website for this place and it looks like a good restaurant and I see it is only about 15 minutes outside of Indianapolis. I would consider going to dinner here on Saturday night after my plane lands as I see they offer one of these pork tenderloin sandwiches I am looking to try. But it looks like I will not have a car on this quick trip so I will probably be limited to the Indianapolis metro area.

Yeah, if this sandwich is the size of a pizza then I really don't see myself picking it all up at once and eating it lol. Cutting off the sides and eating them after the sandwich portion definitely makes much more sense. It is obvious I have never had one of these sandwiches before, but I am looking forward to trying one this weekend, probably Saturday night as my plane lands early enough (I think 6 PM) that I will need to get dinner somewhere.

Actually this one isn't too bad as I realized it's in a to go container. I just know the bar I went to literally served it on a pizza pan. Hope you get a good one which based on the info ya got you should if you can make it.

The best way to eat a tenderloin, in my experience, is to cut off the edges and stack them on the sandwich. Yum!

One of the BBQ places in Des Moines makes a great tenderloin sandwich. When you order it, they ask if you want one or two buns. Usually, my wife will eat the outer part and save the bun and rest of the sandwich for a second meal.
Vegas, did we go to Newton's Cafe in Waterloo? It's across the bridge from the Ramada. They have a good tenderloin sandwich, according to Charlie Thesz!

For meals in Waterloo, I remember going to the Mexican restaurant, the Brewery, the pizza dinner at the Hall of Fame building on Thursday, the dinner during the Hall of Fame inductions at the venue across from the hotel on Saturday, and 1 time to Subway (I stopped there for lunch on the Saturday while walking back to the hotel after listening to the panel about Bruiser Brody that included Stan Hansen and Barbara Goodish.) But I don't think we went to that cafe.

OK. We'll have to hit it the next time you come to town. If we're awake, we sometimes go to breakfast there.

I spent 2 weeks in Indianapolis for work about 15 years ago. Was told to check out Shapiro's Deli. Its downtown near the football stadium, sandwiches were incredible. shapiros.com/
