Chapter 19 Dreaming of a Bruising Christmas
It was Christmas time, a tradition from Earth. Even now it had far reaching acceptance. This card had to be special. It was for several people anyway. Valour and Lorelei managed to slip away to have a little alone time. Who would have guessed that over the year, love would blossom for these two. Also, could blossoming romance thanks to the mistletoe by American Guy and Phantasy? American Guy was walking around the back and ran into Phantasy. The two bickered for a few minutes, before looking up. There it was mistletoe hanging over their head. Guy grabbed her and planted a kiss on her. She struggles at first but seems to accept it.
Massif felt like Scrooge from the old Christmas Carol story. He called Plethador in and chatted with him. He appreciated Animan's work, but wasn’t sure, Plethador was ready for the GWF, so he sent him to developmental territory and told him that if things went well, he could come back.
Taping 1
The night starts off with Swarm and She Devil taking on Shann-Ra and Kill Prey. It’s a long hard struggle with all four taking a beating. Eventually, it’s Kill Prey finishing off Swarm with the Ambush, after working to make it more effective.
In the back, Tristan and the Betrayer get into a fight. The two are finally split up. Massif comes out and says he is tired of their fighting every time they see each other so he will allow them to fight for as long as they want to in a last man standing match.
Lorelei takes on Big Bertha. Lorelei comes out a ball of fire and takes it to Bertha. Bertha has to leave the ring, but Lorelei is right behind her. Bertha takes advantage by slamming her into the announcer’s table. The ref warns her after she drags Lorelei back into the ring. Going to the middle rope she dives off, hitting the Trailer Park Pounce. Lorelei is crushed under the 348 lbs and is easily pinned.
Tristan defeats the Betrayer after a fight that goes just over 12 minutes. Toward the end, it looks like Tristan has won it with the Arcana, but somehow Betrayer beats the count. The fight continues. Tristan hits a superplex that seemed to shatter The Betrayer. He goes back up on the turnbuckle and hits the frog splash. This time, The Betrayer cannot beat the count.
The final bout of the first taping is a Titan Death Match between two old rivals, Payback and Tanck. Payback is all over Tanck and makes sure this one doesn’t last long. From the top turnbuckle, Payback nails a vicious flying clothesline and finishes Tanck off with the Exvenge.
Taping 2
Kill Prey puts up the Battle Zone Title against Plethador in his final match. Plethador is in his last ditch chance to save himself from demotion. He fails miserably. Kill Prey dominates, forcing the Animan to submit to the Hunter’s Eye Claw.
The Colonizers take on the Animen. Epoch starts out the match, but quickly tags out to Slave Beast making him do most of the work. He takes Antak into the turnbuckle, but Antak lands a vicious clothesline and pins Beast. Epoch chastises Beast.
It’s a really old wrestling match. This dates back before the war. Bruiser Brody takes on Abdullah the Butcher. It’s a bloodbath in a cage. The crowd oohs and aahs at the violence. Butcher is busted open early and Brody is covered in Butcher’s blood. Brody drops the Jumping Knee Drop and pulls himself out of the cage for the win.
The Amazing Mann takes on Swarm. Mann is in trouble early as he gets caught with Hornet’s Stings. He is able to escape the pin, but has trouble mounting offense. Frustrated, Mann slams Swarm into the table to end the second taping.
Main Event
Disaster goes to war with Valour. They beat the stuffing out of each other and take the best the other has to offer. Eventually, Valour takes the match with his Violent Outburst. Lorelei is out there to calm him down before he is disqualified.
Across the Galaxy, Wildkat, Paralyze and Havoc investigate an old building on a seemingly dead planet. Havoc complains about all the jumps it took to get there in the ship and how he needed a drink. Paralyze tells him to shut up and suck it up. The three enter it and take off their helmets. It appears not long abandoned and they begin to search for any clues about Encubus. The three find the room he was kept in and even find some scribblings by Encubus. They continue their search and enter what looks to be an interrogation room. The door slams shut behind them. They turn. Wildkat looks shocked for a moment. “I should have figured it was you.” Suddenly there was a bright light and the three slowly slipped into darkness.
