That was great on_the_edge! I felt like I was watching several t.v.'s at the same time. Really looking forward to where this goes from here. Even got a kick out of seeing Mean Gene in my minds eye. But Tommy Dreamer vs Al Snow was incredible. For sheer comedic relief I would have awarded Snow the technical victory - regardless of reality. Smooth!

Really looking forward to Macho Man vs. Superfly for the title at Royal Rumble... And the inevitable conflict between Raven and Dreamer is gonna be off the chain!

Thank you guys for the comments and following. I'm still finding my groove here but hopefully soon I got it going. I have so many ideas popping around in my mind. Just need to get them set down in the right order and not rush things. That is one of the hardest things for me.

January, week 2, year 1
WWE Raw
A promo from The Mountie who faces The Sheik in the opening match. He says The Sheik has broken the rules too many times and he needs to face the music. A Mountie always gets his man.
The Mountie over The Sheik by pinfall after a Short Choke Slam. (2 stars)
It was mostly The Mountie the whole match. The little offense The Sheik got in involved jabbing a metal spike into The Mountie's forehead. Post match The Mountie handcuffed The Sheik to the top rope and then used his shock stick to zap The Sheik.
Mean Gene talking to Randy Savage about his match at Royal Rumble. "Oh yea the Macho Man will defend the World title against Snuka. He's one cool dude. He's fly in fact. Superfly even. Well while he might fly the Macho Man is no slouch at flying myself. I know I've got what it takes to be a World Champion (pats title around his waist) oh yea. Snuka needs to ask himself if he does. I don't think he does."
The Hart Dynasty beat Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff when Teddy Hart pinned Iron Sheik after an Avalanche Canadian Destroyer. (3 stars)
It looked like it would be a squash as The Harts used frequent tags and both single and tag finishers on Volkoff. The Russian would not stay down. Things got better when he could tag out. Iron Sheik had Smith in trouble till Smith tagged out.
A promo video for the Royal Rumble PPV in six days.
Marty Jannetty over Koko B Ware by pinfall after a back elbow ram. (2 stars)
A good match where each man had a chance.
The Dream Team says they will win back their titles at Royal Rumble. They barely lost them in their last match against LOD and now they have the best manager in wrestling guiding them. Jimmy Hart comes into the shot, laughing. "You know it baby."
Blackjack Mulligan beat Hillbilly Jim by submission with a Clawhold. (1 star)
Jim is a large man but he was dwarfed by Blackjack. The cowboy attacked the Hillbilly from behind as Hillbilly waved to the fans. Blackjack rolled after that.
The next Raw will have the fallout from the Royal Rumble PPV.
WCW Nitro
Mil Mascaras over David Taylor by pinfall following a Flying Body Press. (1 star)
The Mexican star had little trouble with the Englishman.
It is announced that the Rock-n-Roll Express have left WCW to take a break. Hopefully their absence won't be long.
Killer Kowalski over Tommy Rich by submission with a Claw Hold. (2 stars)
Tommy was never in this match but he refused to give up. He escaped Killer's finisher a few times before getting caught in it and had to tap.
Super Crazy talking about how Missing Link shouldn't have hit him with a chair in their match last week. He want's a rematch where he will punish Link.
Vachons over Samoan Swat Team (Samu & Alofa) when Mad Dog Vachon pinned Alofa after an airplane spin. (2 stars)
Solid match that saw the brothers out perform the SST.
WCW World Champion Buddy Rogers walking in back when someone steps in his path making him stop. The camera pans over to show who it is. It's indie darling Bryan Danielson. Bryan looks at the belt on Buddy's shoulder and smiles. "I hear you are looking for tougher competition. Well I'm here. So I will see you at the SuperBrawl PPV next month and take that title off your hands." He then passes Buddy and walks off. Buddy turns to watch him walk off and rubs his chin.
Harley Race beat Tracy Smothers in a US Title match by pinfall with a back suplex to retain. (1 star) Harley Race looked impressive even if he had a handful of tights on the pin.
ECW Chaos
Al Snow is in the locker room with his back to the camera when Mikey Whipwreck walks in behind him. Al says, "We have a big match tonight. Just follow my lead and listen to me and we will come out with the W." Mikey nods his head and says, "ok fair enough. I'll do that." Al turns his head to look over his shoulder. "Oh, I didn't realize you were there." Mikey looks confused. "Um, who were you talking to then?" Al smiles and slowly raises his arms to reveal he's holding Head. Mikey is speechless so he turns and leaves. Al looks at Head. "Yea you're right. He IS weird."
One Man Gang beat Stevie Richards by pinfall after a 747 Splash. (1 star)
Stevie is in the ring acting cocky till he hears OMG's music. The big man tosses him around like a rag doll. Gang misses his first attempt at his finisher but landed it a couple minutes later.
An announcement that next month's PPV, Unhinged, will feature all three titles on the line.
RVD beat The Grappler by pinfall after a Five Star Frog Splash. (1 star)
A squash match. RVD used Van Daminators to soften up The Grappler before hitting his finisher. He was beaming after the win.
A promo for new addition coming soon...Chris Sabin. Multiple Hail Sabins at the end.
The Mongrols over Al Snow & Mikey Whipwreck when Greto pinned Al following the tag mlve Mongolian Drop. (3 stars)
Al was showing Geeto Head after the opening bell. That distracted him as Mikey blasted Geeto with a flying dropkick. The advantage did not last long. From there The Mongrols used frequent tags and double teams to work Mikey over. They each hit a finisher but he kicked out. Mikey made a desperate tag to Al. In the ring Al hit some offense for a minute or so then tagged out. Mikey couldn't believe it but got in the ring. The end came when Bepo was pounding on Al a few minutes later and tagged his partner and they hit their tag finisher.
The Mongrols were celebrating when The Pitbulls rushed out and attacked them. Both teams were brawling as the show ended.
NOTES: There were a couple title changes in the indies. ROH World Champion Samoa Joe lost to Kevin Steen. Word is Joe's contract is almost up and he want's to take his talents elsewhere. Meanwhile in NWA:TNA the TNA Champion AJ Styles lost to Austin Aries. It is possible that Styles will be moving to another promotion as well.

WWF Royal Rumble
LOD w/Paul Ellering beat The Dream Team w/Jimmy Hart in a WWF Tag Team Championship match by submission when Animal submitted Greg Valentine with a camel clutch to retain. (3 stars)
LOD looked like they were going to squash the challengers in first couple minutes as they used double teaming and frequent tags to put Beefcake in a world of hurt. But Beefcake survived and tagged out allowing The Dream Team to ride out the early wild rush.
The match went back and forth for 5-6 minutes. Jimmy Hart was able to save his boys a couple times. There was only so much he could do and eventually Animal slapped a camel clutch on Valentine causing him to tap.
As the match ended two men hopped the barricade from the crowd. They were wearing matching cowboy boots, blue jeans, white tank tops, blue bandannas on their faces and red ones on their heads. So all you could see were their arms and eyes. They ran over to the time keeper's table and grabbed the Tag Team title belts before running off to the back. The Legion of Doom didn't seem to know what was going on more than a commotion as they watched them run to the back. When Paul told them what happened they ran off in hot pursuit.
Gorilla Monsoon: Who was that, who were those two?
Jesse Ventura: Not sure but the way they stole the belts and rode off into the night they remind me of my former talent agent.
Gorilla Monsoon: Oh give me a break Jesse.
A promo for the next PPV, the greatest PPV in wrestling, WrestleMania. Who will shine on the greatest stage of all?
King Kong Bundy w/Bobby Heenan over "Rowdy" Roddy Piper by pinfall following an Avalanche. (4 stars)
While the big man pounded the rowdy one most of the match Piper was never one to just roll over and this was no exception. After an early Avalanche Bundy told the ref to count to five but he barely got to two before Piper kicked out. A bit after that Piper got in some offense but not enough. Eventually a second Avalanche led to a five count.
The rules of the Royal Rumble, a gauntlet battle royal, are explained. The large $25,000 check is shown. Then it's time for the match.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage over Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka in a WWF World Championship match by pinfall after a Flying Elbow Drop to retain. (3 stars)
Snuka took the fight to the champ early on and was looking good. The Macho Man fought back and rocked Snuka with a flying axe handle off the apron onto Snuka on the floor. The challenger had one last push. He lost momentum while on the floor when he grabbed a chair and threatened to hit Savage. The ref stopped him and Snuka argued with him. This let Savage recover. He tossed Snuka into the railing and then the ring. A bit later the champ went to the top rope and came down with his finisher.
Notes from the internet:
Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki are doing tours of America. They wrestled on some house shows and after the Rumble have a match on Monday Night Raw before heading back to Japan. Shaun Ricker was brought up for the Rumble but no plans to put him on the roster for now. Eddie Edwards, who wrestles for a few promotions on the East coast, had a try out dark match on last Raw and his appearance in the Rumble. WWF did not sign him at this time.
