What a great show we have in store for you! You'll see Lou Thesz make his return to the NWA! Also, in the hour, you will see the highly anticipated rematch between Tessa Blanchard and Xia Brookside! Will lightning strike twice? Can Xia upset Tessa 2 weeks in a row? We have a great main event for you as well as Magnum TA will take on US Champion Big Van Vader in a non-title match! If Magnum wins, he'll earn a title shot at the next NWA: WCW Supercard! Let's go to the ring!

Lou Thesz defeated Bruiser Costa in 1:47 with a Thesz Press
The former 2-Time World's Champion didn't miss a beat here and made short work of Costa. After the match, Lou Thesz spoke with our very own Tony Schiavone! He had this to say...

LT: I've been a major force in the NWA for years due to my excellent skills as a wrestler. Key word being wrestler. I have surrounded myself with the top wrestlers in the World in a stable called Vintage. Joining me is Dan Severn, Bob Roop, and my mentor, George Tragos. I've been disgusted by what I've seen in the NWA. These young punk kids with their long hair and rock and roll music. They are not wrestlers, they are entertainers. They couldn't last with me in a real match, hold for hold. I am here to prove my dominance and regain MY World's Championship! 

Tessa Blanchard defeated Xia Brookside in 8:53 with a Hammerlock DDT
Xia showed tremendous fight in this one. Tessa used her best moves and Xia kept coming back. At one point, Tessa screamed for Xia to just stay down! Tessa finally got a pinfall after a vicious Hammerlock DDT. After the match, Tessa picked up Xia and the two had an uneasy stare until Tessa embraced Xia with a hug. Looks like Xia has earned Tessa's respect in this one. Perhaps, the huge fine Tessa had to pay for attacking the referee last week, made her do some thinking! 

We now go to an announcement regarding NWA: WCW's next Supercard!!!

On Sunday December 29, 2019, NWA: World Championship Wrestling Presents Clash of the Champions from MADISON SQUARE GARDEN!!! The NWA is taking new ground and looks to rock the Big Apple!!! You will see the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion defend against top contender, Barry Windham! The Women's World Champion will take on top contender, Jessicka Havok! The World Junior and World Tag Team Titles will also be defended! We will have more announcements regarding this HISTORIC Supercard on the next episode of NWA: World Championship Wrestling!!!




Vampiro defeated Lord Zoltan w/manager Kevin Sullivan in 6:46 with a Nail in the Coffin
The mysterious and evil Kevin Sullivan had another one of his charges attempt to defeat Vampiro. Sullivan has been causing havoc all over the NWA, in WCW and PPW. Zoltan gave Vampiro quite a challenge in this one but Vampiro was able to overcome and finish off Zoltan with his finisher. After the match, Sullivan grabbed Zoltan by the hair leading him to the back. Sullivan could be heard uttering the phrase "Chosen One" over and over. This plot thickens in this one. We hope to get an explanation from Kevin Sullivan soon!

The Road Warriors and The Sheepherders battled to a Double Disqualification in 3:00
These two teams came to fight in this one. The stakes were high in this one as The World Tag Team Champions will be defending at Clash of Champions, so both teams were looking to jump up in the rankings. Eventually, all four men ended up in the ring and the referee lost control and threw this one out! 

In the Main Event, Magnum TA defeated US Champion Big Van Vader in a non-title match, pinning him in 4:12 following a Belly to Belly Suplex
Vader looked to catch Magnum off guard early with some devastating offense but Magnum would persevere using his speed advantage. Magnum bounced Vader all over the ring in this one as Vader couldn't regain momentum. Magnum becomes only the second person to defeat Vader since his NWA debut. Magnum has now earned a US Championship matchup at Clash of Champions!

NWA Gateway presents Winter in Winnipeg!

The Vachons defeated The Original Midnight Express in 3:30 when Mad Dog Vachon pinned Dennis Condrey following a Gutbuster
Both teams had picked up impressive victories in previous weeks. The Vachons were dominant and really worked on the midsection of Dennis Condrey. A final Gutbuster was enough to put Condrey away! The Vachons have been impressive since joining NWA: Gateway! 

Tommy Rich defeated Don Leo Jonathan in 7:37 with a Fist Drop to win the vacant NWA Central States Championship
Rich, who was injured during last week's Main Event by The Heenan Family, seemed to be running on pure adrenaline in this one as he showed minimal affects of his knee injury. Jonathan had an impressive showing as well and dizzied Rich with multiple Giant Swings but it wouldn't be enough. Rich finished off Jonathan with a Fist Drop and became the first NWA Central States Champion! 

NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Jushin "Thunder" Liger defeated The Dark Patriot in 10:26 following a Shooting Star Press
The Dark Patriot brought it in this one and nearly became the new champion in this match. Jushin Liger continued to show his toughness by surviving another top challenger. This was a great match! I'm sure The Dark Patriot will be back to challenge Liger again in the future. 

The Killer Bees defeated The Rock N Roll Express in 2:23 to win the vacant NWA Central States Tag Team Championships when Brunzell submitted Morton with a Figure Four Leglock
Morton appeared to tweak his knee early on in this match. The veteran Brunzell took advantage and was able to put Morton away with a Figure Four Leglock in under 3 minutes. While The Bees were happy to win the championships, they were concerned for their friend as well and this was not the way they hoped to win this one. The injury robbed the fans of a true classic between these two teams. We hope to see them battle it out again once Ricky Morton is healthy.

NWA Women's World Champion Sherri Martel defeated Kiera Hogan in 6:38 with a Top Rope Splash
The dominant champion stifled her challenger in this match. Both women were undefeated coming into this one but Martel was a step ahead of Hogan in this one. Martel continued her winning ways and kept her championship.

NWA World Tag Team Champions Buddy Rogers & Johnny Valentine w/ James J. Dillon defeated The Miracle Violence Connection in 13:10 when Steve Williams was disqualified
This was a great back and forth contest for the championships! James J. Dillon would eventually get involved as he tried to toss Buddy Rogers a pair of brass knuckles. Williams intercepted the object and nailed Rogers with it! However, the referee saw the infraction and disqualified Williams. Dillon had interfered multiple times in this one and it had all gone undetected. The challengers were the victims of bad luck as this time the referee did see it and the champions keep their titles.

Bobo Brazil defeated NWA National Champion Harley Race w/ Larry Hennig in 8:55 with a Coco Butt to win the championship
This was another great contest between 2 incredible professionals! The advantage changed hands several times. Brazil was able to put Race away following a series of Coco Butts! 

In the Main Event, NWA World's Heavyweight Champion Tony Atlas defeated Nick Bockwinkel w/ Bobby Heenan in 1:01 with a Press Slam and Splash (The Crusher was Special Guest Referee)
Atlas, still incensed over the attack on him and Tommy Rich by The Heenan Family, beat the hell out of the challenger! He absolutely destroyed Bockwinkel and won in just over a minute. I've never seen Nick Bockwinkel beaten like this. Bobby Heenan attempted to complain to The Crusher following the pinfall but ate a Bolo Punch for his troubles. The Crusher then raised the hand of the champion! 

An incredible night of wrestling in Winnipeg! How will The Heenan Family rebound from this embarrassing loss? Will the Miracle Violence Connection get another shot at Tag Team Gold? Join us on the next edition of NWA: Gateway Wrestling!

Tonight on NWA Gateway Wrestling, we will have the fallout from this past weekend's Winter in Winnipeg Supercard! Our Main Event tonight will feature two men coming off of tough losses in Winnipeg as Nick Bockwinkel will face former National Champion Harley Race. We will also see a fantastic Women's match between Allysin Kay and Candice LeRae. We will hear from The Miracle Violence Connection as they came up just short against the NWA World Tag Team Champions this past weekend. We will have all that and more! Now, let's head to a pre-recorded interview with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. 

BH: Earlier this morning, I officially filed a grievance with NWA President Sam Muchnick. Nick Bockwinkel, who should be celebrating a World's Championship victory, is not doing so because the NWA decided that The Crusher needed to be the Special Referee. Nick Bockwinkel did not receive a fair rematch due to The Crusher's biased officiating and that is why Atlas retained the title. I demand that Nick Bockwinkel be given another shot at the NWA World's Championship!!! 

Allysin Kay defeated Candice LeRae in 14:59 with a Discus Lariat
This was an incredible back and forth contest that saw the momentum change hands several times. This one was coming down to the wire and was just about to reach the 15 minute time limit but Allysin Kay nailed Candice LeRae with a desperation Discus Lariat to get the pinfall with 1 second remaining! I hope to see these 2 clash again!

We now go to the ring with our colleague Kevin Wall. He is joined by the Miracle Violence Connection.

KW: Ladies and gentleman, this past Sunday evening, my guests, The Miracle Violence Connection, were disqualified during their NWA World Tag Team Championship match. This came after James J. Dillon had interfered multiple times without being detected by the referee. Terry Gordy, I know you have something to say about this.

TG: You know something, if these guys wanted to throw the rulebook out the window, we would have gladly accepted any kind of match you wanna have. But instead, you wanna be a couple of snakes in the grass...

At this point Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody enter the ring! 

SH: You wanna sit here and cry about a missed opportunity Gordy? Well, why don't you man up and accept the fact that you and your partner couldn't get the job done. You guys have quite the reputation but you aint nothin compared to me and Bruise. So, how about you and me go one on one right now and we can see how tough you really are Bam Bam!

Terry Gordy defeated Stan Hansen in 4:42 via disqualification when Bruiser Brody interfered
These two engaged in a hectic brawl and spent a lot of time outside the ring. It didn't take long for this to break down and Bruiser Brody attacked Gordy and the ref threw this one out. Williams came in to even up the score and these two teams had to be separated. These two teams are headed towards a tremendous clash! 

Frank Gotch defeated Shane Douglas in 4:31 with a Rolling Knee Bar
This was a battle between two former NWA World's Champions. Douglas only has one defeat to his name in the NWA and that is when he lost the championship to Nick Bockwinkel. Gotch dominated Douglas. Gotch worked on the knee of Shane Douglas and submitted The Franchise. Gotch, who has an incredible track record and he shockingly destroyed a very formidable opponent in Shane Douglas. Gotch is showing why he was such a dominant World Champion. If wins like this continue to pile up, it won't be long before Gotch is wearing championship gold once again! 

The Crusher defeated King Kong Bundy in 12:03 with a Stomach Claw
This was a great match. A rough and tumble contest in which both wrestlers showed their toughness. The Crusher looked as good as ever and was able to put down the massive man from Atlantic City. It was announced that The Crusher will face Nick Bockwinkel next week on a special Christmas Day edition of NWA Gateway Wrestling from The Kiel in St. Louis! 

In the Main Event, Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan defeated Harley Race w/Larry "The Axe" Hennig in 5:35 
Harley Race was disqualified after he and Larry Hennig double teamed Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel's partner Ray Stevens was not in attendance tonight and took a quite a pounding. What is the motivation of this attack. Looks like The Heenan Family has made their fair share of enemies. I wonder how this will pan out for them? 

Next week on Gateway Wrestling join us for a special Christmas Day Episode, Live from the Kiel in St. Louis! We will see The Crusher and Nick Bockwinkel in the Main Event and a Central States Tag Team Title Match with The Killer Bees defending against The Rock N Roll Express! Join us next week!

NWA UPDATE!!!

With the recent announcement of Championship Weekend in January 2020, the NWA and its fans thought the things couldn't get any bigger, but they have!!! We are pleased to announce that in February 2020, the NWA will be expanding with 3 new territories!!! There will be a tournaments to determine champions in the month of January and the territories will kick full time in February. Let's take a look at the new territories...


The newest Independent Territory will be Capitol Wrestling! They will cover the Northeast United States and Canada! Their championships will be the NWA Grand Prix Championship, NWA Intercontinental Championship, and NWA Grand Prix Tag Team Championships!

The newest Legends Territory will be Southwest Championship Wrestling! This will cover Houston and San Antonio as well as Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and California. This will also include the Legendary Ladies Roster which will introduce the NWA Women's US Championship! The Men's Championships will be NWA Television Championship (moving over from NWA WCW, the Mid Atlantic Title will replace this in NWA WCW), NWA Southwest Championship, and the NWA Southwest Tag Team Championship!

The last of the new territories will be an Independent Women's Wrestling Territory called Shimmer Wrestling! They will compete mainly in the Northeast and will introduce the Shimmer Singles and Shimmer Tag Team Championships!!!

Announcements on the NWA Schedule and Rosters will be coming in the next few weeks so Stay Tuned!!!

We go to the ring with Tony Schiavone as he is joined by NWA Mid-Atlantic Champion (TV Title is headed to NWA: Southwest) "Macho Man" Randy Savage!

TS: Champ, we saw a couple of weeks back that you were approached by Gary Hart. We have not heard from you or Hart since. What's the deal with the Macho Man and Gary Hart?

RS: Ooohh yeah! The deal is that there is no deal. Gary Hart wants to manage the Macho Man but I don't know need a stooge like that in my corner!!!

Gary Hart enters the ring flanked by Rikidozan and Giant Baba!

GH: Savage, nobody treats Gary Hart with disrespect. Nobody! You had a chance to be a part of wrestling royalty and you blew it. I have now made it my mission to take your title and make your life a living hell! I have secured the services of "The Emperor" Rikidozan and the only true giant in wrestling Giant Baba! They are wrestling royalty. They are the Ozoku! Now, the time for talking is over. It's time to make you pay.

Hart and The Ozoku surrounded Savage and were ready to attack when Angelo and Lanny Poffo ran to the ring and stood side by side with The Macho Man! Hart ordered his men to stand down. This is the beginning of quite the rivalry! 

"Ravishing" Rick Rude w/Jimmy Hart defeated George South with a Rude Awakening in 1:11
Rude made short work of South but that was not the story in this one. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper made his return after being brutally attacked and lashed with a belt by Rude. Piper, brandishing a leather strap viciously whipped Rude and Jimmy Hart as the crowd went berserk. Piper then grabbed the mic and announced that he will be battling Rude at Clash of the Champions in a Strap Match!!! 

Tony Schiavone is joined by Lou Thesz and his vintage stablemates (Severn, Roop, and Tragos). 

TS: Mr. Thesz, you have made known your disdain for this generation of wrestlers and I hear you've requested this interview to address an issue regarding the World Championship Match.

LT: That's correct. Barry Windham is receiving a shot at Tony Atlas and the World's Heavyweight Championship in a little more than a week at the Clash. While, Windham is a fine young athlete but he is not even close to my level of skill and expertise nor does he possess the credentials I do. I believe that I deserve to be in this match and not Barry Windham. I plan to petition the NWA to make the right decision and change this match. 

Barry Windham and Blackjack Mulligan come out to the ring to address Thesz and Vintage

BW: Thesz, you think you deserve a shot at the gold, huh? Well, I've earned everything I've ever gotten in this business and I earned this shot. However, I'm not afraid of any challenge or any man and if you want my shot, why don't you wrestle me for it next week? 

LT: You've got yourself a deal!

BJM: You got what you want Thesz, now how about we address you talking about my son. You got something to say, you're so big and bad. Why don't you climb into the ring right now and we'll see how qualified you are to fight for the World's Title...

At this point Dan Severn steps up and assures Thesz that he can handle Mulligan and will take the match. To the ring we go...

Dan "The Beast" Severn defeated Blackjack Mulligan with a Wakigatame in 8:58
This one was a battle! Severn was able to avoid Mulligan's dreaded Claw Hold and submit Mulligan in a little bit of an upset. The momentum is now in the favor of Lou Thesz and his Vintage stable. Next week, we will see Lou Thesz attempt to take Barry Windham and his World's Title Match! 

We now go to pre-recorded comments from Kevin Sullivan, who is surrounded by stable members, The Missing Link, One Man Gang, Lord Zoltan, and Hugh Morrus

KS: Vampiro, I have long had my eye on you. You, Vampiro, are the chosen one. You will be refined by fire and enveloped in darkness. You and I have a date with destiny at Clash of the Champions. Vampiro, this will not be an ending, for this is only the beginning. Hahahaha!!!

The Fantastics defeated The Quebecers when Pierre was disqualified in 5:02
The Fantastics have been named the Number One Contender's for the World Tag Team Championships and will meet Buddy Rogers and Johnny Valentine at Clash of the Champions. They looked to build some momentum against The Quebecers in this one. Things were going well until Rogers and Valentine made their way down to the ring. This allowed The Quebecers to attack and Pierre would be disqualified for hitting Bobby Fulton with a chair. Then the two villainous teams targeted Bobby Fulton and drove him threw the announce table. This was a dastardly attack but not unexpected as Rogers and Valentine always look for a way to get the upper hand. 

The Road Warriors defeated The Sheepherders when Hawk pinned Butch Miller following a Doomsday Device in 12:40
It was announced prior to this match that the winning team would face US Tag Team Champions The Midnight Express for the titles at Clash of the Champions. These two teams fought tooth and nail as there were high stakes in this one. Hawk and Animal showed great resiliency and were able to overcome the very tough Sheepherders. They will now head to a title match against long time rivals The Midnight Express.

We are now joined by NWA Vice President Bill Watts who is here to announce 2 more matches signed for Clash of the Champions.

BW: NWA: WCW fans, I am pleased to announce two stellar matches that are being added to Clash of the Champions. First, we will see a third and final match between Tessa Blanchard and Xia Brookside in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match. These two ladies have spilt victories in their most recent matches and we are looking to see which wrestler will climb up the rankings. We are also proud to announce that NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Jushin "Thunder" Liger will be defending his crown at the Clash and we have granted a rematch to Mikey Whipwreck, who had a tremendous contest with Liger last month at Starrcade. This should be a phenomenal rematch. Can Mikey shock the world and take home the gold???

Main Event: Tully Blanchard defeated Curt Hennig in 7:12 following a Slingshot Suplex
Prior to the match, Blanchard announced that he will be leaving NWA: WCW in order to pursue an opportunity in the new NWA: Southwest promotion and that he wanted to show the entire world what the Southwest will be getting. James J. Dillon will be accompanying Blanchard to the Southwest in order to pursue a singles title. First, they needed to get through a challenge in Curt Hennig. Hennig looked good in this match but Blanchard was on top of his game and put Hennig down in this one. 

Join us next week on NWA: WCW when we will see Barry Windham take on Lou Thesz in our Main Event. The winner of this matchup will challenge NWA World's Heavyweight Champion Tony Atlas at Clash of the Champions!  We will also see Randy Savage and his brother Lanny Poffo take on the Ozoku (Rikidozan and Giant Baba) with Gary Hart!
