i am starting up again, in 2087 . I have 2087 and 2088 and was wondering would people start with the 2087 roster and start bringing in the new lot or start with the combined fed???
I had this game a long time ago and am looking forward to re-igniting the Gladiator/Wolf feud. I had all the NB but feel a lot more comfortable in the earlier stuff.

It's kind of a tough call. I know I have done it both ways. If you combine them, then you have more to choose from, and that's always nice. When I just used 2087, I just ran less cards, so that's always an option, just run less cards, and you will move along faster. My problem with just using 2087 only, was that I really only felt that there were 3 main event level stars in Star Warrior, Wolf, and Thantos, plus with the smaller roster, things start to get a little repetitive. I like to have a little more variety, so by combining them, you also have Bishop Hell and Spike to throw in the main event mix, plus you have the great AniMen tag team, and more wrestlers in general to use. It's really your choice, but I personally like combining the two.

Personally i'd milk the Star Warrior-Thantos feud for all it's worth.

I normally go a few months worth of cards and then bring in the next set. So it's like fueds run there course after 3 or 4 pay-per-views and I'm ready for some new talent

Personally i'd milk the Star Warrior-Thantos feud for all it's worth. I completely agree. I had watched my cousin play CotG in it's earliest years - it was probably up to only the first or second Invasion sets at that time - and I really enjoyed the Star Warrior-Thantos feud. When I first bought CotG for myself a few years after that, it was up to 2096, and I went ahead and caught my roster up to that year and started from there. But the more I played, the more I found myself longing for the Star Warrior-Thantos era, so I did a reset and enjoyed it thoroughly. I started over again at 2087 with CotG online and I'm enjoying it immensely yet again (although the Star Warrior-Thantos feud has turned more into a Massif-Thantos feud). Click on my fed in my signature if you want one example of a way to do a fed starting from 2087. I basically do 2 cards a month with a PPV every other month, but if you want to really hurry things along you can always do less. I think if you stagger the entrances of the 2088 wrestlers like I do, you can get away with the 2 cards per month schedule and still keep the feuds from getting stale though.

I had a 2087 fed running for a while. I stopped it because I didn't like the format I was using and may pick it back up soon. Thats beside the point though.
I started with 2087 and after about two months of cards or so into the year I would introduce a new talent or two to keep things rolling instead of bringing everyone in at once. Though if you do start with 2087&2088 mixed you could start bringing in the 2089 guys slowly to add variety.

I would definately run the 2087 for at least 3-4 months of story time, then start introducing new guys in. It will help to keep things fresh and can give guys time apart from the same old feuds.
