Coming in just a few short weeks, the UWF returns with the Triathlon Surivivor Tournament!

Each match is actually three matches in one. First a six-man tag takes place. The two wrestlers that are involved in the fall then go to the back. Next a tag team match takes place, then a singles match. The three-man team that wins the best of three is the one that advances into the next round.

Last year saw the team of Jimmy Snuka, Mil Mascaras and Bobo Brazil defeat Rikidozan, Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki in the tournament final.

This UWF show will be a three-day extravaganza from Sept. 12 - 14, taking place Albuquerque, New Mexico. This event has a very unique format for the elimination matches.

Each match is actually three matches in one. First a six-man tag takes place. The two wrestlers that are involved in the fall then go to the back. Next a tag team match takes place, then a singles match. The three-man team that wins the best of three is the one that advances into the next round.

Day one will be the first round, the second round on day 2, and the semis and final on the third day. There will also be other matches on the cards for day two and three.

FIRST ROUND

The Spectral Envoy
(UltraMantis Black, Hallowicked, Frightmare)

The start of the match was all Spectral Envoy. The three members kept tagging in and out over and over and just pounding on North American champion the Mountie. From there it was the Tolos Brothers completely doing a number on UltraMantis Black. Later it was Hallowicked staying alive after the Flying Knee Drop. The Mountie piledrove Hallowicked on the floor. Back inside another piledriver and the choke slam finished off Hallowicked, leaving the Tolos Brothers against Frightmare and UltraMantis Black in the next fall.

It was a great tag team battle with the NWA World Tag Team Champions the Tolos Brothers hammering on Frightmare and UltraMantis Black like never before. Still, they couldn't get rid of them and John Tolos whethered a ferocious attack. Chris Tolos broke up a pin and John kicked out again after that. The Praying Mantis Bomb did not put away John Tolos!!! UltraMantis Black put Tolos in the move again, Frightmare held off Chris and UltraMantis scored the three count on John Tolos!!!

Frightmare went to work with the Frightensteiner on Chris Tolos. Then the Kneecolepsy sent Chris down for the pin before Jimmy Hart could do anything and the Spectral Envoy have eliminated The Candian Maggia!!!

The first fall didn't last very long. Adrian Street immediately set Soldier Ant down with a throat drop and went to the Crucifix. Johnny Saint put him in an elevated surfboard and then the Three In One ended the night for Soldier Ant.

Jim Londos and Street continued to control the match against Fire Ant, but the masked luchador finally made a tag. Green Ant fared no better until Street missed off the top rope. Street went at it with Fire Ant before winning the next fall with the Crucifix.

Green Ant carried the fight to Londos with the Chikara Special and the Cloverleaf. Even though the winning team was already decided, Green Ant wrestled like a man possessed, really dominating Londos. They went back and forth and Londos repeatedly had the Ant beat but it took quite some time before the Airplane Spin ended the match.

The Foreign Legion
(Claudio Castagnoli, Ares, Tursas)

Great six-man action to open this bout. Lots of tags in and out. Jerry Lynn found himself taking a beating and the Ragnarock triple team move by the Foreign Legion - Claudio Castagnoli, Ares & Tursas - but he kicked out!!! So they did it to him again for the three count.

That left Tursas and Claudio Castagnoli against Paul London & Brian Kendrick. London kicked out after the Ricola Bomb. Tursas destroyed London with the Black Hole Slam. He fell to the floor and was counted out of the ring.

Kendrick went to work even though his team had lost this match. Twice he hit Sliced Bread #2 on Castagnoli. This was a great match with incredible back and forth action. Castagnoli outlasted Kendrick and won with the Ricola Bomb.

Hot Stuff Incorporated
(Eddie Gilbert, Buff Bagwell, Val Venis)

Eddie Gilbert's team took charge and controlled the match. Blkout did very little but Joker crushed Bagwell with the Magnitude Bomb and scored the pin.

The next fall was very long, hard fought and back and forth. Kingston finally eliminated Val Venis with the Sliding D.

Gilbert and Blk Jeez squared off but didn't go long. The two battled it out in and out of the ring and were both disqualified.

The Mongols
(Bepo, Geeto, Bolo)

The Mexican Trios champions, DiBiase, Thatcher and Robertson, rolled in the first fall. Geeto Mongol never made a tag and never mustered any kind of offense at all. He was tripled team until Iron Mike hit the knee drop off the top rope.

It took Bepo and Bolo a long time to get anything going their way. Once they finally did they put DiBiase away with the Mongolian Drop.

The second fall was a war, back and forth. Les Thatcher was busted wide open and hit by the Mongolian Drop twice but kicked out. Bolo finally eliminated him with the bear hug.

Dewey Robertson then defeated Bepo Mongol with the Figure Four Leglock.

The Midnight Express
(Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane, Dennis Condrey)

Lots of tags on both sides in the first fall. Dennis Condrey set the Sandman up for the Rocket Launcher.

More solid action from both teams in the second fall. D-Lo Brown went down following another Rocket Launcher.

Al Snow and Stan Lane tore into each other to finish the match. A lot of brawling but Lane beat Snow with the Superkick.

The Army of Darkness
(Kevin Sullivan, Ox Baker, One Man Gang)

Kevin Sullivan's Army of Darkness went back and forth with the European contingent. After a lot of tags it was Sullivan getting disqualified fighting with Nigel McGuinness.

Finlay took a major pounding from the Gang and Ox Baker, including the Heart Punch. He kept fighting and Dave Taylor put the Gang down with an European uppercut to even the match.

Ox Baker quickly nailed Finlay with the Heart Punch to win the match.

Bryan Danielson, Steve Corino, CW Anderson

(Icarus, Chuck Taylor, Johnny Gargano)

Bryan Danielson was in trouble but came back. CW Anderson crushed Chuck Taylor four times with the Spinebuster but couldn't pin him. Danielson put away Icarus with a suplex arsenal.

Team FIST took charge against CW Anderson. After a wild brawl with all four men, Steve Corino finished off Chuck Taylor with Old School Expulsion.

CW Anderson controlled Johnny Gargarno until ending the match with the Spinebuster.

Day 2

Ivory def. Mia Yim[/center][/b]

A pair of newcomers to the womens wrestling scene went at it in a great opening contest. Ivory rolled early but then Mia Yim got things going her way. It was Yim really taking it to Ivory with the Sky Yim and a Spinning Seoul Kick. These two combatants went round and round but Ivory grabbed the victory with a Jumping Facebuster.

DJ Hyde def. Greg Excellent

This was another excellent contest between another pair of independent wrestling stars. Greg Excellent really rolled at the start, then this one turned even more physical and went back and forth. Both men were tough but it was DJ Hyde getting the win with the Shadow Driver.

Scorpio Sky def. A.R. Fox

A cruiserweight spotlight match and Scorpio Sky was on fire and non-stop offense. Fox never had any kind of sustained offense in this one. Sky totally dominated and finally won after a springboard dropkick (Fox 7 coins).

The Tribe def. Los Banditos

A real fast tag team encounter. The Tribe worked over Rico Dynamite, never letting him get a tag. The Hawaiian Lion put on the Ankle Lock for the win.

Sami Callihan def. Willie Mack

[/center]

Another great preliminary bout between two top indy stars. They really tore into each other, pulling out all the stops and big moves. Callihan came out on top after the Stretch Muffler (Callihan 5 coins, Mack 3 coins).

Adam Pearce def. Masada by D.Q.

[/center]

Masada tore into Pearce and never let up. "Scrap Iron" had to fight his way back into the match but Masada was intent on hurting Pearce and was disqualified in the process.

Eddie Gilbert def. Blk Jeez

These two were both disqualified in the final fall on day one, eliminating both teams from Triathlon Survivor. Blk Jeez took over early but Gilbert rallied. After the Hot Shot he used the Fireball to beat Blk Jeez.

QUARTERFINALS

The Spectral Envoy

A quick first fall as Adrian Street turned Hallowicked over to Jim Londos. The Airplane Spin put him away.

Street and Johnny Saint were methodical in their dissection of Frightmare. They couldn't put him away though and he countered a move by Saint off the top rope. UltraMantis Black tried to beat Saint by countout and then the Praying Mantis Bomb but did not get the pin. Frightmare evened the match by beating Saint after the Fright Crusher and the Kneecolepsy.

UltraMantis exploded with offense to win the match after the Praying Mantis Bomb and several times with the Cosmic Disaster and Rites of Spring.

An incredibly long first fall as these two great teams showed why they are so good. They dished it out and took a pounding back and forth, making tags and getting in and out of the ring. Jim Cornette and Sir Oliver Humperdink each got involved. Bobby Eaton got the pin on Geeto Mongol after distraction by Cornette.

The Mongolian Drop on Dennis Condrey evened this match at one fall apiece.

Lane and Bepo worked each other over back and forth. Lane won the match with an enzuigiri.

The Army of Darkness started out strong. Ox Baker set up CW Anderson for the One Man Gang. A face first suplex and then the 747 Splash put away the Enforcer.

The tag team portion of the bout was awesome. Lots of foreign objects from Kevin Sullivan and Steve Corino. The four men went round and round but Bryan Danielson evened the match with the Cattle Mutilation on Sullivan.

The singles match ended with Ox Baker getting disqualified, giving the win to Steve Corino and his team.

SEMIFINALS

Hallowicked started things off but didn't fare very well. Ares set him up for the Doomsday Uppercut for the pin.

A long tag team match ensued but the Foreign Legion controlled the pace and went to work on UltraMantis Black and Frightmare. Ares put UltraMantis away with the Tiger Driver.

Castagnoli didn't need long to lay out Frightmare with the Ricola Bomb.

The Midnight Express

The first fall started with CW Anderson taking a huge beating, including the Veg-O-Matic. Despite Corino and Danielson getting things turned around, the Midnight Express still leveled Danielson with the Veg-O-Matic.

Eaton and Condrey then easily put Corino up in the Veg-O-Matic.

From there Eaton and CW went back and forth but it was Beautiful Bobby taking the win for the sweep.

Mildred Burke def. Ida Mae Martinez

This one was over in no time at all. A forearm, sunset flip, backbreaker and the Alligator Clutch was all it took for Burke to crush Ida Mae.

Nick Madrid def. Johnny Yuma

[/center]

A quick encounter but a solid one. Yuma had the offense early but Madrid came back. Twice with the Running of the Bulls ended the match.

Tangled Web Match
Danny Havoc def. Drake Younger

[/center]

Insane amounts of punishment dished out here. Danny Havoc used the General Order 24 twice before the two men fell off the top of the scaffolding. Havoc won the match with Total Havoc.

Adam Pearce def. Masada

[/center]

A rematch from last night when Masada was disqualified. A great fight between these two with plenty of action in and out of the ring. Pearce won with the Jumping Piledriver.

These teams were both eliminated from the Triathlon Survivor after a double D.Q. in the final fall. Last night Eddie Gilbert used the Fireball on Blk Jeez. Buff Bagwell ended the match early with a double arm DDT on Joker.

FINALS

The Midnight Express

Stan Lane lived through the Ragnarock triple team finisher and the diving cross body by Tursas. Bobby Eaton was in all kinds of trouble but blocked a top rope move and Dennis Condrey beat Ares with a face first leg sweep.

Stan Lane then set Claudio Castagnoli up for the Rocket Launcher to win the second fall and the match! Tursas didn't bother fighting Bobby Eaton in the singles match.

1st fall: Roop showed he belongs here and held some offense along with nearfalls, but the Giant slammed him and splashed him for the pin.
2nd fall: these two continued to go back and forth but Andre secured the win with another big splash.

1st fall: Inoki went to work immediately, coming off the top rope and then the Octopus forced a submission.
2nd fall: great back and forth action but Inoki relentlessly worked over DiPaolo another getting another submission.

1st fall: DiBiase had things in control with the Sleeper locked on for a long time but Rocca pulled a victory roll out of nowhere to get the pin (snake eyes).
2nd fall: tons of back and forth moves and near falls but DiBiase evened the match with the Million Dollar Dream.
3rd fall: DiBiase comes back to win the match with the figure four leglock (Rocca 5 coins).

William Muldoon def. Steve Williams, 2-0

1st fall: after going move for move Muldoon dominated, kept Dr. Death on the mat by repeatedly tossing him around the ring until getting the pin.
2nd fall: Muldoon with an impressive win, dumping Williams on his head and grabbing another pin to win the match (Williams 5 coins).

Mr. Saito def. Finlay, 2-0

1st fall: Finlay destroyed Saito but could not get a pin and it was the Japanese legend somehow holding on and taking the first fall after an Oriental leg sweep.
2nd fall: a bloody Mr. Saito steamrolled Finlay in the second fall eventually winning with his patented suplex (Finlay 5 coins, Saito 5 coins).

Nick Bockwinkel def. Rikidozan, 2-0

1st fall: tremendous contest, Rikidozan withstood huge amount of punishment from the figure four and the sleeper but went down after a piledriver (Rikidozan 5 coins).
2nd fall: All-Asia champion Bockwinkel maintained control and went on to the win following a back suplex.

Curt Hennig def. John Pesek, 2-0

1st fall: it was Pesek to start but Curt Hennig asserted himself, dominating the Tiger Man on the mat to win folling a big knee lift.
2nd fall: Pesek gave it his all but Hennig maintained the advantage and put Pesek away to win the match.

Buddy Rogers def. Johnnny Valentine, 2-0

1st fall: Valentine looked good at first but Rogers put a stop to that and the Figure Four ended the first fall.
2nd fall: more of the same as Rogers held off any attack by Valentine and went to the Figure Four for the win.

Henry Irslinger def. Dave Taylor, 2-1

1st fall: a spectacular contest between two great technicians. A crazy amount of near falls but Henry Irslinger took this one after another Flying Headlock (Taylor 5 coins).
2nd fall: Taylor sucked it up enough to even the match with a British Suplex.
3rd fall: two exhausted men kept the fight going but Irslinger pulled out the victory with a neck yoke (Taylor 5 coins).

Rob Van Dam def. Harley Race, 2-0

1st fall: awesome first fall between these two feuding opponents from NAWA. RVD scored the first pin after a split-legged moonsault.
2nd fall: RVD lands the 5 Star Frog Splash but then finishes off Race with a body scissors cradle.

Lou Thesz def. Masked Superstar, 2-0

1st fall: Thesz killed the Masked Superstar with a variety of wrestling moves and put him away with the Thesz Press.
2nd fall: Masked Superstar took over for nearly the entire fall but ended up being disqualified.

Yukon Eric def. Don Leo Jonathan, 2-1

1st fall: a battle of the big men and Don Leo Jonathan took charge and won with the Mormon Swing.
2nd fall: this was a real stiff match and toe to toe before Yukon Eric won with the Kodiak Krunch.
3rd fall: Yukon Eric somehow battles back to hit the Kodiak Krunch again and take the big win.

Johnny Saint def. Evan Lewis, 2-0

1st fall: Johnny Saint dominated the Strangler, who put up a good long fight, to win with the Three in One (Lewis 6 coins).
2nd fall: Lewis turned it all around and did everything except get a pin. Saint won with the Russ Abbott (Lewis 8 coins).

Mil Mascaras def. Ed Lewis, 2-0

1st fall: Lewis didn't get the chance to keep Mascaras grounded. He flew all over the place to take the first fall off the top rope.
2nd fall: with both men down on the mat Mascaras made it up top again and landed on Lewis for the three count.

The Iron Sheik def. The Destroyer, 2-0

1st fall: awesome action, back and forth, non-stop. The Iron Sheik caught the Destroyer coming off the top rope and notched the pin.
2nd fall: the Iron Sheik would not give the Destroyer any chance to breathe, pummeling him with kicks and then the Camel Clutch (Destroyer 7 coins).

Dan Severn def. Bobby Shane, 2-1

1st fall: Shane had some opportunities but didn't connect and Severn took the first fall after the Wakigatame.
2nd fall: Shane steals the second fall coming off the ropes with a rollup.
3rd fall: Shane showed unbelievable heart but Severn beat him with the Wakigatame (Shane 7 coins).

1st fall: an absolutely unbelievable match that Dr. Death won with the Oklahoma Stampede (Rocca 6 coins).
2nd fall: Dr. Death powered his way to the win with the Doctor Bomb and another running power slam.

Rikidozan def. Finlay, 2-0

1st fall: Rikidozan controlled this one most of the way winning with the Hiplock.
2nd fall: again it was Dozan on top, even winning a fight on the floor, and sending Finlay down with Thunderous Chops.

John Pesek def. Johnny Valentine, 2-1

1st fall: Pesek had things in hand but Valentine turned it around and won after the Atomic Skullcrusher and the sleeper.
2nd fall: a real good fight, back and forth, but Pesek evened the match with the Tiger Man Toehold.
3rd fall: awesome final fall, tons of near falls, a waistlock slam and Pesek won (Valentine 7 coins, Pesek 4 coins).

Harley Race def. Dave Taylor, 2-0

1st fall: a quick one but Taylor kicked out of the Piledriver before Race drilled him with it again.
2nd fall: a standing vertical suplex and Taylor was done still feeling the effects of the piledriver.

1st fall: Bobby Shane gave the Destroyer all he could handle but he got disqualified.
2nd fall: it was all Shane but the Destroyer stayed alive and won with the Figure Four.

1st fall: tremendous back and forth wrestling, battling on the floor, Severn was in command though and wore the Iron Sheik out - 5 coins.
2nd fall: Severn again controlled the action but locked on a choke sleeper, would not release it, and was disqualified.
3rd fall: the Iron Sheik kept fighting but Severn was "a beast" and the Wakigatame ended this one (Iron Sheik 6 coins).

Mil Mascaras def. Johnny Saint, 2-0

1st fall: a dream matchup on technical masters, it was Mascaras holding the upperhand, outwrestling Saint and winning with a crossbody.
2nd fall: Saint never got any kind of offense going and Mascaras wins the match (Saint 4 coins).

Lou Thesz def. Yukon Eric, 2-0

1st fall: great action as Yukon Eric hung right there with Lou Thesz, but the tactician Thesz was relentless and eventually wore his man down (Eric 5 coins).
2nd fall: a quick second fall as the Greco-Roman Backdrop put away Yukon Eric.

Rob Van Dam def. Henry Irslinger, 2-0

1st fall: what an effort by Irslinger, totally frustrating RVD and nearly winning on more than one occasion, but RVD did take the first fall on a standing moonsault.
2nd fall: Van Dam took the win by using a wrestling move for the three count.

1st fall: spectacular first fall, awesome action, Hennig used the Perfect Plex but Rogers won with the figure four (both men 4 coins).
2nd fall: Rogers was able to send Hennig down to the mat and the Figure Four ended the match.

1st fall: great back and forth action but Irslinger got on a massive roll and the flying headlock scored the pin (DiPaolo 4 coins).
2nd fall: DiPaolo was in no shape to do anything but still battled hard before going down to another flying headlock (DiPaolo 6 coins).

Steve Williams def. Yukon Eric, 2-0

1st fall: all Dr. Death as he steamrolled to the win with an Oklahoma Stampede and a football tackle.
2nd fall: Williams wasted no time putting the lumberjack away with another power slam.

Rikidozan def. Johnny Saint, 2-0

1st fall: a very long fight but Rikidozan completely dominated the entire contest.
2nd fall: Rikidozan rolled to the win with the hiplock (Saint 5 coins).

The Iron Sheik def. John Pesek, 2-0

1st fall: The Iron Sheik did major damage to the Tiger Man and the first fall ended with Pesek being counted out of the ring.
2nd fall: the match ended shortly into the second fall with a big suplex by the Iron Sheik on Pesek.

1st fall: Race did the damage with his mighty headbutt and took the first fall in no time at all.
2nd fall: Inoki got a little bit of offense but Race was too strong in this one and the Piledriver ended the match.

The Masked Superstar def. Ted DiBiase, 2-0

1st fall: an awesome confrontation in the first fall with tons of 2-counts but the Masked Superstar pulled it out with the spinning neckbreaker (DiBiase 5 coins, MS 3 coins).
2nd fall: another hard-fought fall but the Masked Superstar proved to be too much and won with the cobra hold (DiBiase 6 coins).

Ed Lewis def. Mr. Saito, 2-1

1st fall: Lewis wasted no time putting the headlock on, then not letting Saito out until he tapped.
2nd fall: the 2nd fall went back and forth until Saito came out on top with the scorpion.
3rd fall: Saito couldn't avoid the headlock and the Strangler came away the victor.

Curt Hennig def. The Destroyer, 2-0

1st fall: a tremendous technical matchup that the Destroyer controlled but Hennig stayed alive and won with the Perfect Plex (Hennig 5 coins).
2nd fall: Hennig won the fight on the floor and the Perfect Plex brought him the win.
