Jay has a move on his card which allows him to use his title belt as a weapon.
But what if he has none? Is it a reroll down a level?

So you can assume he uses that even when not champion. If that doesnβt work, say he uses his belt buckle or a chair or something.

I remember one of our fellow promoters - aceldamas, I think... but, not certain - once had Jay carrying around a 'Day One' award plaque that he used to smash people in the face... Thought that was a pretty sweet alternative.

Thought that was a pretty sweet alternative. Yup, that was me. I'm not a big fan of cards that kinda lock a contemporary wrestler into a gimmick when it's not likely to be around long. I get the intent but without updates a card can become dated pretty quick. So as the saying goes - "It's up to you promoter!" Either roll down or make it something else.

true even trying to capture a wrestler's career is not easy especially in guys who make major changes.

Yes, that's what is putting me off using the indie cards I have. Updates. At least with LOW they're as is.

Although I wrote the rough draft for the Mark Briscoe singles card (it was part of the first ROH set I was assigned in 2015,) I did not work on this Jay Briscoe singles card (which I like) that was released the previous year.
Swarm had a good suggestion earlier in this thread of replacing the title belt with another object. Last night in my most recent Ring of Vegas results that I posted here on the board, I actually had a match between Jay Briscoe (using his singles card which we are discussing here) and Mance Warner. That move was rolled on and I had Jay smash Mance Warner with a chair which made alot of sense at that point as Mance Warner a couple of moves earlier had ironically rolled on his springboard DDT off chair mechanic.
My personal advice would be, as Swarm also suggested, to replace the title belt with another object and not to roll up a level to Level 2 Offense as that would take away the Add 1 and thus it would deviate from the card strength that Swarm intended for Jay Briscoe.

So, if a wrestler has an add 1 move or a finisher with a DQ possibility, you would never reroll? Just curious.

I have never rerolled on a DQ possibility whether it is on a finisher, add 1 move, chart, etc. I don't reroll any move, DQ or not. But again, I might be misunderstanding your question.
