Looking forward to more podcasts. Originally was a Stratomatic baseball guy (82 and 83 sets). Also liked Champion Baseball by Milton Bradley which had NL and AL all Stars. Moved to wrestling and got hooked into Superstar Pro Wrestling Promoters Dream editions in 1985. These were blank wrestlers with just numbers 1-60 but easy to tell who was who.
Had a few of the Oil and Arm Anderson Superstar version cards mentioned in the podcasts which I picked up in a flea market back in the day. But had all the sets to the NWA version but got tired with the mechanics. My brother owned that Rocky game as well but it did not have much replay fun.
I also bought an early COTG set with Spike in it. Still have a few cards with ASTRO Turk, Chopper Matlock and Vanity.
Still play Cotg (color) and Stratomatic baseball to this day with only a handful of cards surviving a purge a few years back. I did repurchase a S.o.m. 1982 season for nostalgia just before lockdown but only deal with newer stuff from Filsinger. I have played Legends since the 24 card set in b/w. This got me back into the COTG universe ultimately.

Awesome episode! Looking forward to a stroll down memory lane for the Super Report!
Used to stalk the mailman back in the day when it was time to get the issue... Mark inspired me to begin writing HeadBashers Incorporated that in my opinion is just as important in GWF history as the Next Generation fanzine... I had 53 subscribers back in early 90s and each issue was 20 to 30 pages long.
I also played Superstars of Wrestling NWA version...however, ordered COTG at same time and the superstars game's instructions were mailed separately from the game- which I didn't get until 6 weeks later...by then COTG was already embedded.

Enjoyed the first episode now that I finally got to sit down and listen to it. Like I said before, you guys have a great chemistry. It's very evident that you all have been friends for a long time. Looking forward to future episodes. I can already tell they are going to be fun!
And I got a shout out at the very beginning!!! Is this what fame feels like?

I enjoyed the podcast and wish you all good luck with the upcoming episodes! I'm fairly new to this board, but as a native Minnesotan and current Iowan who grew up with the AWA, the Superstar Pro Wrestling Game, and the Avalon Hill line of sports board games, I could closely relate to your stories. Like Stu, I played Title Bout in the '80s and thought about how to convert it into a wrestling game. I think I even took a stab at creating some cards, but that was beyond the abilities of my 15-year old self.
