Why is New Beginnings 2119 a good place to start?

so it's not anymore. Too much time and changes have passed. Back in the day though it was allowing fans a fresh start without having to say "start at the beginning and work your way through 30 years to catch up to where the other fans are."

With color, 2125 is a good place to start but I think by 2140, Tom may want to look at doing a new starter set.

I think New Beginnings is a good starting spot because major storylines are wrapped up (coming out of 2118) and it’s truly a fresh start. New Glads, other new characters, new storylines etc. There isn’t a ton going on in 2119 - kind of like a calm before the storm - but things really start to pick up w the debut of Nosfera (2120 IIRC) and MONOLITH in 2121. Some of the coolest storylines begin with Bloodline and Encubus too. The 2120’s were a great time in game history.

With that said, I think a good idea to attract fans who are looking for a jumping on point would be to simply list which sets you need to play the current year. Want to jump in on 2136? You need X, Y and Z sets etc...with each new release we offer a bundle pack with all the sets you need to play the current year. Then anybody can jump on.

A great project would be to catalog each set and determine which sets are needed to play each one, effectively making every year a viable jumping in point. So say someone wants to jump on in 2127. There’d be a list of game sets you’d need to purchase to start playing in 2127. I think that could work.

It certainly could be. It was the beginning of a long story arc that ended with 2136 (I suppose you could say 2136 is also a new starting point).
