Just curious here-why is it that the comic book tournament, the Friday night perrenial and of course my hardcore tournament, have been moved to qualfiying for this new tournament and not remained part of the GCup qualifier? I have urged by multiple people to switch to a format like this for the Galacticon Cup. The reasons being that the tournament that you are referencing are not open to everyone during the main convention time period (i.e. just folks who go to the comic store or Friday Night, and/or limited field with first come first serve on the hardcore tourney). In addition we would be able to crown champion for each fed as part of this new structure. I am thinking we'll give this format a one year trial run, and then see what people think about it and decide if we want to continue it in future years. |

I still think it's pretty insane trying to squeeze 12 tournaments in on the weekend. But let's see if it works. (Most years, we're lucky ot manage 7)

I think we may pull it off. I have slotted alot more room this year and JMello will be a big help in pulling this off. We will have signups for tournaments by where you check in, so we'll see how that goes too.

The problem with that is anyone who participates in any of the three (perenial, Comic book, Hardcore) now has to win not only THAT tournament, but has to win the Interplanetary Tournament JUST to get in the Galacticon Cup. |

Well we're still going to need to average a complete tourney in 40 minutes roughly. Doable but hard if one of the matches goes long especially a first rounder.

A new tournament will start before the previous one eds. That way people aren't waiting forever for things to start. We will have makeup time at the end of each playing session to finish up outstanding matches. |

I gotta agree with Troy. Keep it at 8 and just roll with it (pun intended). Have LOTF1&2 and GWFZ be the final two qualifiers (may as well use the new hot products) and forget the play in stuff. Keep it simple.
GWF legends singles has been done to death for several years. Let's get some new blood (cards) in there and see what they can do.

I will look into some big prizes for the Interplanetary Title winner and if we do an all-time tourney, the winner of that as well. Then the 8 winners of the other tournies will get the 8 spots in the cup. Sounds simple enough. So once again here are the Galacticon Cup Qualifiers: Canada Cup Trivia Rumble GWF Current aCe Hardcore POW MMA GWFZ Legends Singles Legends of the Future The last 6 tournaments will have 32 spots each, and hopefully we will not have to give a 2nd chance to anyone this go around. Should be a fun experiment. |

Well one way to do that is to make it so that if you're not there on Sunday, you are not eligible to win a slot. 32......hopefully more than 40 people show this year. 32's going to be most of the people..if everyone wants to play.
