As you may know, I'm involved with the planning of the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. We have started our annual "12 Days" campaign, where you can purchase discounted All Access Passes for the weekend, while we announce award winners, attendees, and competitors at the Impact Pro Wrestling show. Please follow "George Tragos/Lou Thesz Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame" on Facebook for the daily announcements. Set your calendars for July 15-17, 2021, in lovely Waterloo, IA, birthplace of our own Sam Fain ! Many members of our board have attended this event in the past, including TDalton , Cory Olson , stu , iowaoaks , Vegas , and Avarice . I think they would all say it's a great time and well worth the price of admission! If you have any questions, please ask in this thread or PM me! 2021 Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame honorees are as follows: Adnan Al-Kassie - Hall of Fame Inductee Earl Wampler - Hall of Fame Inductee Mark Henry - Frank Gotch Award Trish Stratus - Lou Thesz Award Ken Shamrock - George Tragos Award The Hall of Fame Classic tournament has become a highlight of the Impact Pro Wrestling show. This year will be no exception! We are excited to announce the first half of the Hall of Fame Classic participants: Colt Cabana Brian Pillman, Jr Madman Fulton Impact Pro Wrestling participant (TBD) Thursday will kick off the weekend with a pizza and beer (including Single Speed Brewery's Gable beer) social event at 5:30PM. Friday evening is the Impact Pro Wrestling show. Saturday evening will be the Hall of Fame Induction Banquet. All-Access passes for induction weekend are on sale NOW for $110 until December 31st. They will go up to $130 on January 1st. All-Access Passes provide admission to all events, including a ticket to the Hall of Fame Banquet, a ringside seat at the Impact Pro Wrestling show and preferred access at the autograph signing. Some events are only open to All-Access Pass holders and distinguished guests. To order your All-Access Pass, please email dgmstaff@nwhof.org or call (319) 233-0745. Promoters, this is such an awesome time. I have attended 14 of the HOF weekends, including the inaugural one in 1999. I have gotten to meet so many legends over the years and gotten to see some great indie talent, maany of whom have gone on to WWE, AEW, ROH, or other bigger promotions. The event is very fan-friendly and so many memories are made. As we've talked about on Uncharted Territory and King of Pro Wrestling, if you can swing Galacticon in Chicago and this event, it will be a memorable summer!

I attended the 2018 Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. I would recommend going if possible, it was alot of fun.
In addition to the events Chad mentioned, I think there is also a wrestling trivia contest on Thursday night (at least there was the year I went in 2018. I remember the team of me, Tim, Stu, and Avarice finished in either 2nd or 3rd place.)
I would like to attend again in 2021 if possible. There are just so many unknown variables at the moment, it is just hard for me to say for sure. If these types of events are able to resume by this Summer (I am optimistic that they will be,) I am also hoping to go to Galacticon in Chicago in July and to Expo Lucha 3 during my birthday weekend in Philadelphia in June.

I wonder how they will handle the Covid situation with this event?
Adnan Al-Kaisse would be a highlight to see! Watching some classic AWA on YouTube tonight, the Sheik vs The Baron was a match watched. Always entertaining with those two! Had a great feud/rivalry!

I can not tell you how much enjoyment this event has given me over the years.. and how many unbelievably good matches I've seen there.
Every year I've been, there was what I'd consider at least one main event match rivaling any Monday, Wednesday or Friday TV (let alone your average Sunday.)
You get to meet and really talk to some of the true greats. (My two best memories were the very lengthy conversation with Colt and having the Claw put on me by the Baron.)
If you can attend, you will not regret..

Vegas you gotta get us Shamrock It would be awesome to get Ken Shamrock in the game. My experience with the Legends team is to defer to them for signings. They did sign Davey Boy Smith Jr., his father, and Stan Hansen when I was at the Hall of Fame 2018. I am not afraid to ask (I have signed 100s of names to the game) and I would gladly ask Shamrock in July unless Chad or Tim got a good chance to ask him first. |
