 I was talking tonight to my friend on_the_edge about this Impact tournament which just had its brackets released tonight. These are the brackets: * Suicide vs. Ace Austin * Daivari vs. Cousin Jake * Tre Lamar vs. Crazzy Steve * KC Navarro vs. Blake Christian Who do you think will win the Super X Cup Tournament on January 9th? |

I'll be rooting for Tre LaMar
I think Cousin Jake should probably win and start a badass run in Impact
But I think an Ace Austin vs Blake Christian final is too good of an opportunity to pass up.

So many ways they could go with this. There is set up a final for the best match. That would be Austin vs Blake. Set it up for momentum for a wrestler. That would be Cousin Jake, which is my pick. I see them starting to build him up for a showdown later in the year with Cody. They could also use this to set up an interesting X match soon after. That would mean Suicide winning so he faces Manik. Of course they can do that without Suicide winning the Cup. Either way this is a sweet looking lineup and should give some fun matches.

I went with Ace Austin but I am not sure if he's been super involved in Impact in the past few weeks.

He hasn't been on in a while. Ever since the tag wars were over. My guess is letting him rest up plus keeping him and Fulton off TV till they have something for them. Lately all matches have some kind of story line connection. No random matches that really do not mean anything.

I could see Cousin Jake but it would mean not doing, since they are on opposite sides of the bracket, Ace Austin vs Blake Christian which I don't think has been done before in a singles match (I know they have been in triple threats against each other and there was the 4 way match this week on Impact.) I would have to shake my head if Impact does not go with that matchup which according to the brackets can only happen in the Finals.
