I'll start off by saying I absolutely loved Brodie Lee and his sudden passing has devastated many of us fans. Watching him reminded me of why I fell in love with pro wrestling MANY years ago. He was so good, so real, and was a scary mfer! I mentioned before that I had a chance to meet him down here in Orlando and when I did, he was anything but scary. Sure, he was big, looked rough and tough and was intimidating, but as soon as he hit you with that big smile and showed you his humility, kindness and sense of humor, it immediately made you realize he was just a gentle giant with a heart of gold who had acting skills that could rival a Denzel or Jack.
I came across someone doing this on Twitter tonight and I thought it was a cool gesture and decided I wanted to do the same. On Friday, January 1st at 8pm I'm going to pick one person to receive a FREE Brodie Lee t-shirt from Pro Wrestling Tees. (If you would prefer a Mick Foley or CM Punk shirt, they too will be options since they are graciously donating all proceeds from their shirts to Brodie's family as well). If any other wrestlers come forward with the same gesture by then, their shirts will also be among the choices made available to the winner.
This is being done for two reasons. 1- The obvious, to chip in and lend a bit of support to his wife and kids that he so loved and 2- This game/community was one of the VERY few positive things about this nightmare of a year and I wanted to show my appreciation to everyone here for making this place a fun and much needed escape from this shitstorm called real life.
