I haven't been following WWE very closely for many, many years. I tend to selectively pick clips on YouTube to watch to kinda sorta keep up with what is going on. I keep checking out stuff with Roman Reigns in it and over and over I can't believe that they didn't turn him heel sooner. He's SOOOO much better as a heel. The squeaky clean babyface character never fit for him.
Thoughts? Am I wrong and he still sucks, I just don't see it because I'm not seeing the full shows?

Not sure how great the booking is but I'm excited for Adam Pearce to get some time and possibly some ring time against Reigns at the Rumble. He's certainly worked hard enough for it.

I think everyone knew Roman could do well as a heel, even Vince. The same thing with Cena. The problem is Vince so both as literally the face of the company. Roman filled the vacuum that Cena left when he started acting. This is something in WWE that goes back to the Hogan days. Vince builds a face that does a lot of goodwill outside of the company that helps garner attention for the company. So he ends up not wanting to turn them as it creates the issue of a wrestler being a evil heel on screen but a nice guy at events. I'm glad they finally decided to flip the switch on Roman. Now a lot of fans that hated him can finally enjoy him. Just a shame they can only appreciate him based on a character change. Some fans forget this is a show and they are playing the characters that are written for them. It is not improve or something where the actual person can do what they want.

I always thought Roman Reigns got a bad rap, in a sense. He's not a great wrestler but he isn't terrible. He was booked for some matches that REALLY showed how limited his moveset and abilities were, but that isn't totally his fault. Goldberg was always a limited worker but most of his matches were still entertaining because they weren't looking for him to fill 20 minutes of a show. Roman also wasn't a TERRIBLE face but he wasn't ready for the main face of the company type of position. And he just plain didn't play that character very well either. This role just seems like a WAY better fit for him. He comes across much more natural in his promos and stuff.
I can't speak to the overall booking... I assume it's bad, WWE usually is.

I've never really got Reigns, he was a good to decent face but seems to have found his spot as a heel and with a spokesperson manager. Its been good for what it is but there are more talented people on the roster that I would buy PPVs to watch.
Kind of that same vibe as Cena, he seems like a real hard worker but could see holding down some talent to build himself up. Solid worker but not great, less charisma than Cena.

Their charisma really shines when being themselves away from wrestling. It's easy for kids to like them and that is what Vince wants.

Roman showed signs of this side of himself in FCW. For a while, he had a "I'm already a star, so why am I here?" type of character and he owned it incredibly well. Roman has also shown his own personal charisma on things like UpUpDownDown. Add that on top of him just being a stellar in-ring performer, he really was just getting cut off at the knees when it came to how he was used.
