I've been trying to find out what a WAR Gun was for years now A MASSIVE Clothesline!!! Always made sense to me for that...

So this is actually a big subject I had intended to talk about both on Sam’s podcast and at VCon but never did. Specially named- 3 moves.
Growing up with the game I loved the specially named - 3 moves without move descriptions. Assassin Drop, Andromeda Drop, WAR Gun, Gladiator Piledriver etc...I loved dreaming up the moves myself and sometimes they evolved or changed if I came across a new wrestling move in real life I really liked.
So when we wrote Battle Lines (Kronos in general but especially Battle Lines) I made it a point to not give these moves descriptions.
I wanted to keep the spirit of alternate universes robust. What a Detonator Bomb is in your fed might be different than what it is in my fed or the next guys fed and so on.
So the answer is whatever you think it is, or want it to be.
I’m sure some people will think that’s lazy or whatever but I truly hope it instead inspires creativity and imagination.
With that said, I’ll post some of the moves I use at some point.

I've been trying to find out what a WAR Gun was for years now A MASSIVE Clothesline!!! Always made sense to me for that... For me it was a powerbomb. The powerbomb didn’t exist in COTG at that point and I thought it was a good counter to the Gladiator piledriver. The set up and execution reminded me of how a shotgun works too.

In the old Promoter issue with write-in suggestions for these names, the WAR Gun was a second-rope piledriver.

I thought the WAR Gun was a Stun Gun.

I thought the WAR Gun was a Stun Gun. That would have been a good guess. I never thought of that. I treated it as a belly-to-back piledriver like Frankie Kazarian’s FADE TO BLACK. I figured that would be something you could reverse the Gladiator Piledriver into directly. Power up out of the Piledriver, grab the Aethran’s legs, and drop straight down, drilling the opponent’s head into the mat.

Yes...I remember Rick Steiner taking off opponents heads (like he did at the end of the match below, which in some circles is said to be a shoot...) and that is what I imagined all of the members of W.A.R. doing...a "right back at you" with regards to the feared Gladiators Decapitator.

Absolutely understand the concept of leaving some moves open to interpretation as that's some of the fun of the game and then discussing everyone's vision of said Proper Noun Moves. There's already been some great conversations on some of these moves, case in point W.A.R. Gun. A Stun Gun or a direct counter to a Decapitor or piledriver makes SO MUCH SENSE that moving forward it will change my view on the move. The not so much an issue, but talking point, I have is when a character has 3+ moves that are undescribed it gets into a grey area of author's intent and promoter interpretation. Some characters, after removing some basic -1 moves and any listed deathjump, into the ropes, out of the ring, etc. 3+ undefined moves is almost 1/2 the proper move set of a character. So establishing an archetype for a wrestler can be misread.

So establishing an archetype for a wrestler can be misread. Interesting discussion. Years ago Tom enforced the rule of describing all - 3 moves with special names because he had a lot of fans asking him what they were. So I get it. And that’s how we do it in the GWF sets. All specially named - 3 moves must be given descriptions. I did it the way I like w Kronos on purpose. I can see how it can be controversial and I apologize if it comes off as anything but me trying to make a game set the way I enjoy it and hoping everybody else likes it too lol. Maybe I am selfish trying to project my own enjoyment of the game on others and instead leaving you frustrated. If there are any Kronos guys you would like to ask me about or discuss let’s do it. Fire away.
