Pro Wrestling Elevated
We will be taking 16 professional wrestlers and have placed their names in a randomizer, to determine the first round match ups to declare the first PWE World Heavyweight champion. The wrestlers participating in this tourney are:
1.Barbarian 2.Finlay 3.Dynamite Kid 4.Dan Severn 5.Brian Myers 6.Don Muraco 7.Steve Corino 8.Rob Van Dam 9.Bruiser Brody 10.Shane Douglas 11.Curt Hennig 12.Adrian Adonis 13.Jerry Brisco 14.Danny Hodge 15.Baron Von Rascke 16.James Storm
As you can see, the radomizer has created some spectacular first time match ups, that will have fans intrigued. But the randomizer will not be gone for long, as we head in to the 2nd round of the tourney, we will use it again for the Elite 8 pairings.
Lets head to our WCCB TV studios in Charlotte N.C. as we open up the tourney with The Barbarian vs James Storm!
(1) Barbarian vs (16)James Storm
Storm early on goes for the Calf Wrangler, but misses a moonsault badly. Barbarian whips Storm into the turnbuckle, but eats a big boot from Storm! Storm hits a running neckbreaker, Barbarian hits a big thrust kick to Storm, Barbarian hits a huge shoulderbreaker, Storm leaves the ring. Barbarian gets the upper hand on the outside. After a missed (CH) Storm is back on the offense, and hits the atomic drop and clothesline. Storm goes out of the ring, but that idea backfires, Barbarian hits a diving head butt, then catches Storm with the flying clothesline for the pinfall victory!
Winner and advancing to the Elite 8: The Barbarian!
Gordon Solie: What a physical match up that was between these 2 athletes!
Tune in tomorrow for Finlay vs Baron Von Raschke!

Let's take a look at both of our competitors in tomorrow's match, starting with Baron Von Raschke.
GS: James Raschke, or The Baron, as most know him, was a very successful amateur wrestler, from winning the Big Eight Conference Heavyweight Championship at Nebraska to a World Games Bronze medalist to an Olympic Team Qualifier. James was also a champion wrestler while serving in the U.S. Army. James was trained by Verne Gagne and Mad Dog Vachon and eventually changed his name to Baron Von Raschke, from Germany who used the deadly Brain Claw finisher. He was successful wherever he went, winning several singles and tag team championships throughout his travels.
GS: And now on to his opponent, Dave Fit Finlay. Finlay began his career wrestling for his father's promotion at the age of 18. He wrestled 4 years in Ireland before moving on to Britain. While in Britain, he embarked on a near 2-year feud with the great Marty Jones. Finlay has also wrestled overseas in Germany, Austria, and also Japan. Fit has also worked in the U.S. for major promotions.
GS: The consensus is that this match between Finlay and Von Raschke is that it very well may be the most physically demanding match in the first round. Neither has held world championship gold, and this is a great opportunity for both. The only question I have, is can both competitors keep the action in the ring? We shall see tomorrow.

Pro Wrestling Elevated #2
Gordon Solie: Welcome everyone to Pro Wrestling Elevated, as we present to you our next match in the PWE World Championship Tournament! Let's head to ringside for tonight's action!
(2) Finlay vs (15) Baron Von Rashcke
The action starts fast as Finlay catches Baron with a big boot. This is followed by a headbutt by Finlay, and then a huge Cobra Clutch Suplex onto The Baron. Finlay hits a slew of European uppercuts and follows up with a fireman's carry Hot Shot.
Rashcke gets first control with a reversal in the corner. Baron then hits a big backbreaker drop on his knee. Finlay leaves the ring, and smashes Baron into the turnbuckle post, and throws Rashcke back in the ring. Finlay hits a Belfast Bomb and then a Tombstone for a close 2 count.
Baron hits his stride by hitting 2 straight atomic drops, then hits BRAIN CLAW for the win! Baron advances with a hard-fought victory to the ELite 8!
Gordon Solie: What a physical match, let's get a word from The Baron! Baron: Finlay, you never stood a chance! I'm coming for that championship and anyone who gets in my way will fall victim to THE CLAWWWWW!
GS: Be sure to tune in to our next match, which may be the most anticipated match in the first round, as (3)Dynamite Kid faces (14)Danny Hodge!!! I didn't see the Baron beating Finlay. I'm picking Dynamite over Hodge.

Gordon Solie: Danny Hodge may have the most impressive resume heading into our PWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Let's take a look at it:
3 time NCAA National Wrestling Champion at The University of Oklahoma. Silver medalist in the 1956 Olympic Games. 17-0 career amateur boxing record, professional record 8-2.
GS: That resume may instantly make Hodge one of the favorites in this tourney, now let's look at his opponent, also a junior heavyweight competing in the heavyweight division, The Dynamite Kid.
Tom Billington, AKA The Dynamite Kid will go down in history as one of the most innovative wrestlers of all time, as he blended his high level of athleticism with multiple wrestling styles from around the globe. Kid has been a multiple-time champion in Britain, Canada, Japan, and the United States. He is looking forward to wrestling for the heavyweight championship gold here in PWE!
We hope you enjoy the show!!

The roster has a really neat assortment of talent... And the presentation format is very innovative - providing a brief history of each wrestler's accomplishments before posting the head-to-head outcome... One match I'm kinda we get to witness is Dynamite Kid vs. Rob Van Dam... Promising start!

Thanks to Gunslinger, tystates, and Pariah for the kind words and feedback.
Pro Wrestling Elevated #3
Gordon Solie: Good evening everyone and welcome to Pro Wrestling Elevated! Let's head down ringside as we witness the next first-round matchup, between Danny Hodge and The Dynamite Kid!
(3) Danny Hodge vs (14) Dynamite Kid
Both combatants walk to the middle of the ring and stand nose to nose. Early on Dynamite hits a monkey flip, then a front dropkick, and Hodge is in trouble early. Kid goes for an early pin, that Hodge kicks out of big time. Kid follows up with a snap suplex, and Hodge in an unthinkable move leaves the ring to buy some time. Kid follows and hits a spectacular superplex on the outside of the ring!!!!
GS: It's a good thing PWE has no count-outs or Hodge would be in grave trouble!
Kid throws Hodge back in the ring. Kid connects with a diving headbutt. Hodge barely kicks out, as the count was so close, most fans think the refs hand hit the mat for 3! Hodge finally gets breathing room with a reversal and hits an arm drag, and then a backbreaker. Kid hits a headbutt square to the nose of Hodge and regains control. Kid sends Hodge into the ropes, Kid catches Hodge with a running elbow!
Kid hits another front dropkick followed by another snap suplex onto Hodge. Kid connects with a gut wrench suplex, then connects with another DIVING HEAD BUTT, and this time, Hodge is pinned for the 3 count!!!
The Dynamite Kid wins, advances to the Elite 8!
GS: Let's get a few words with our winner, Dynamite Kid! Kid: First, thank you, Danny Hodge, you are a real man, I could not have asked for a better first-round match-up. And thank you to the City of Charlotte and the fans, for coming out tonight. All my life, I've been relegated to tag teams or junior heavyweight matches. This tourney here, with PWE, for a world heavyweight championship, means a lot to me. I'm going to show all of you, it's not about being the biggest, it's about who is the best professional wrestler, and watch what I do here, in PWE!!!!
GS: There you go folks, tune in next time as we preview the next first-round match-up, between Dan Severn and Jerry Brisco! Good night everyone.
*Side note: First time using Kid's card, and holy sh*t, vs another junior heavyweight, it's a monster.

PWE: Before the Bell
Gordon Solie: Hello everyone, welcome to Before the Bell, a show which will preview our next matchup, between Jerry Brisco and Dan Severn, as well as feedback from our panel this evening, as we have Jim Cornette, and D-Lo Brown joining us to give their predictions on our next big bout. First, let's take an in-depth look at Jerry Brisco.
Jerry Brisco, from Blackwell Oklahoma, was a standout amateur wrestler at Oklahoma State, along with his brother, Jack. The Brisco Brothers were a dominant tag team, holding over 20 tag championships. Jerry also experienced singles success, holding the NWA junior heavyweight championship, as well as the Mid Atlantic heavyweight championship.
His opponent, Dan Severn, is from Coldwater, Michigan. Dan is considered one of the godfathers of Mixed Martial Arts. Dan also was a 2 time All American at Arizona State in wrestling and was an alternate for the Olympic team. Severn has made a career intertwined between two sports, regularly competing in pro wrestling and MMA for almost 20 years.
Severn has held the NWA Championship, holding that title for over four 4 years, the third-longest title reign in NWA history. He accomplished this while winning the UFC Tournament the same year.
GS: So, some great insight in that piece, D-Lo what are your observations on the tourney so far?
D-Lo: I mean, only 3 matches in, and I'm already blown up! Really, good stuff. And what we expected when we saw the names in this field. Pro wrestling, in its purest art form. Toughness and pure brutal physicality at its finest. GS: Now, Jim Cornette, we know you are pals with Severn, is he your pick in the next bout?
Jim: Well Gordon, I have given some advice to Dan, I wouldn't say we are friends, but Jerry is going to know he has been in a fight after this matchup..
D-Lo: I mean this is a virtual toss-up between these two combatants, it could come down to who makes the first mistake ends up losing. My pick, is Jerry, listen he's been in this wrestling game and committed to it, Severn is a 2 sport guy, but I think in a wrestling match, I go with Jerry.
Jim: I can see your point, but you do realize Dan can break Jerry's arm off and club him with it, don't you? Severn is too dangerous, he makes Brisco tap.
GS: Well there you go folks, we hope you enjoy the next matchup and goodnight to everyone!
