So I have a question for everyone who keeps a title history track.
When do you start counting the Fight Cards held or Days? Do you start it on the person won the title or the day after he wins the title would be day 1 of the persons reign?
I ask this cause it plays into the storyline write up for my next tour cause a title history record will be broken at the end of the tour and want to make sure I was quoting the right time frame of days or cards.

The day he wins is the day his reign starts. I'm more into number of title defenses but because of the way I number my cards, I was able to figure out Vader had 34 successful defenses over 94 weeks when his reign ended.

I use "fight cards held" as the determining stat, although I do use a calendar to date my fight cards. "Fight cards held" is just a simpler way.

I never dated my GWF shows so I kept track of title defenses. Reign starts when you win it. Legends and indy I have title defenses and length of reign compiled.

I run about 5 cards a month, four weekly TVs, and a PPV each month.
I also use match cards held because it's not like I'm running a vibrant "house show" calendar, and the hard piece is trying to remember the start of the reign has to be the next card date, as the holder, technically, wasn't the holder at the start of the card.

Simple answer for me... I count the day AFTER they win the title as DAY ONE of the reign... BUT, I also count the day they drop the title as the last day... Example: RVD wins title on Jan 1st and loses it on Jan 6th = a reign of 5 days.

I track card won/card lost, but the biggest gauge for me is successful title defenses.

A LONG LONG LONG time ago I used to count days...and it would start the day the title was won, but back then I played ALOT...
Now, I track reigns by successful defenses...someday I will go back through my Fed's history and update my early days to have them comparable to what I do now.

My reigns I start the count from the day they win the title/s . That way you know who is your longest reigning champion/s .
