STAR SPANGLED WRESTLING: Card #9 (DC Armory, Washington, DC) Love that 'card subject to change' note at the start. Were refunds offered? Trouble brewing between Buddy and the Rock? Oh no! Refunds? What is this of which you speak? Loving the Alligator Alley Title, and yes, congrats indeed to Bonnie Welch...what a creative young mind!

Great Lakes Championship Wrestling TV Tapings Treasure Island Resort & Casino: Welch, MN Show 11: July 17 (Taped July 3)
1) The Rock ‘n Roll Express got a win in the opener over Nacho Barrera and The Black Panther! Barrera and the Panther had some brief offense but Robert Gibson surprised the Panther with a small package to score the pinfall in about three minutes! Ricky Morton and Robert told Mick Karch that they love the fans’ support. They said they are up for the challenge of the PitBulls in Mankato, as they defeated them back in November 2019 at Brown County Arena in the tournament to crown the first Great Lakes Tag Team champions. They said they are happy to beat them again and hopefully get a rematch with Jim Brunzell and Jerry Lynn!
Footage aired of Teddy Long hitting Al Snow with the briefcase and announcing the addition of the Vachons to the Playas’ Club from last week’s episode.
2) Al Snow made short work of Tom “Rocky” Stone, scoring a pinfall in about one minute with the Snow Plow. Snow told Mick after the bout that he could not believe the lengths the Vachons would go to in order to beat him last week by joining up with the “peanut head goof” Teddy Long! He said that he will be out for revenge when he and Butcher tangle in Mankato!
3) Tully Blanchard pinned Jimmy Doo with the slingshot suplex in about five minutes. Blanchard continues to impress inside the ring and to little surprise did not have much of an update on his father Joe!
“Ringside” Ralph Strangis went through the matches for July 25 card at the Kato Ballroom in Mankato! NEW*Two members of The Diamond Exchange will take on Johnny Saint and Baron Von Raschke! DDP has stated that the Exchange’s goal is to add the Great Lakes Tag Team titles to their collection. They will have a tough challenge with the European team. Which two members will compete? *In a rematch from Brown County Arena last month, “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka will go one-on-one with The Sandman! *Mikey Whipwreck wants revenge against Evan “Strangler’ Lewis! Reports are that Whipwreck will be at 100%. Can he get his first win in GLCW? *The Rock ‘n Roll Express will take on The PitBulls in a contest of two teams looking for a shot at the Great Lakes Tag Team titles! *Another rematch from Brown County Arena will see Al Snow battle Butcher Vachon! With the addition of Teddy Long in Vachon’s corner and the Playas’ Club’s attack on Snow on TV, you can bet the martial artist will be ready for a war! *Frank Gotch will take on his rival “The Russian Lion” George Hackenschmidt! Each man now holds a win over the other in GLCW. Who will win this “rubber match”? *Jim Brunzell and Jerry Lynn will defend the Great Lakes Tag Team championship against The Long Riders! The Irwins defeated the champions by countout on the May 29 edition of Great Lakes Championship Wrestling, the day before the fan favorites won the gold in St. Paul. The Long Riders went on to score a big win over the Rock ‘n Roll Express the following week on TV. They have a lot of momentum on their side. Can they win the gold from the popular champions? *Two popular wrestlers will be in the main event, as Dan “The Beast” Severn defends the Great Lakes Heavyweight championship against “The Ragin’ Bull” Manny Fernandez! Fernandez has become one of the most popular wrestlers in the Great Lakes. His toughness and speed can bring many victories. But can it topple the wrestling machine that is the champion? Get your tickets now!
4) “The Russian Lion” George Hackenschmidt defeated Red Tyler (3) & Todd Becker in a Handicap Elimination Match. This match was given a 20-minute time limit. Tyler and Becker were allowed to tag in as in a standard four-man tag team match. They both had some offense against Hackenschmidt but the Estonian showcased not only his great power but his wrestling knowledge. He eliminated Tyler from the match at about the 10-minute mark with a submission to the Russian bear hug. Becker looked like he might last the time limit but Hackenschmidt caught him in the bear hug at 19 minutes and forced him to submit as well. Evan “Strangler” Lewis joined Hackenschmidt in the interview area and bragged about his ally’s skills. Hackenschmidt showcased his great English skills by telling Mick that if he can beat two men, then beating Frank Gotch in Mankato will be easy, as he did it before and he will do it again!
Next week on Great Lakes Championship Wrestling, “Cowboy” Bob Orton, Jr. and “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka will be in action! Plus, Tully Blanchard takes on the British technician Johnny Saint! And in a rematch from the May 15 episode, “The Ragin’ Bull” Manny Fernandez takes on “Ravishing” Randy Rose of the Diamond Exchange. All this from Treasure Island Resort and Casino!

SOUTH COAST CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING 6/26/2021 Card #8 – Bayfront Auditorium – Pensacola, FL
Welcome to South Coast Championship Wrestling! Join us now for the fast-paced competition of professional wrestling featuring the top grapplers from the nation’s largest governing body, the World Wide Wrestling Alliance. Before we get to tonight’s action, let’s check in with Charlie Platt and Les Thatcher on the results of the recent WWWA World Heavyweight Title tournament in Brazil.
Charlie and Les announce that Ed “Strangler” Lewis from the Great Lakes territory has been crowned the inaugural World Champion. The South Coast representatives, Steve Williams and the Destroyer, did quite well but weren’t able to capture the gold.
Brian Armstrong dq “Handsome” Jimmy Valiant While Armstrong got outsmarted a couple of times by the veteran, his family pedigree helped him a lot. As soon as he started to gain the upper hand, Brian was jumped by Johnny Valiant and Lou Albano! That brought out Bob & Brad Armstrong which caused the Valiants and Captain Lou to head for the hills.
The Flying Redheads b The Quebecers Although not the barn burner these teams had a few weeks ago in Gadsden, this was still an action packed bout. Lots of double-team moves and bodies flying around. Although the Redheads attempted most of the pins, this was anyone’s match until Lyons really took control against Jacques. Billy was incredibly focused and clamped on the Figure Four Leglock to get the win.
Special Attraction: Rockin’ Robin b Judy Martin Robin was a whirlwind of moves and won quickly after a big power slam. Martin was no happy, complaining of a fast count, and challenged Robin to a tag match next month.
Magnificent Muraco b George South Muraco made short work of South, winning quickly with the Hawaiian Hammer. Once Muraco had the match in hand, he did his best to humiliate South before getting the pin.
Bob Roop b Bob Armstrong Armstrong requested a rematch from a few weeks ago when Roop came away with a victory in a very close affair. Armstrong dominated much of the match, and was able to avoid Roop’s devastating Shoulder Breaker. Roop got away with a lot of illegal tactics and used a swinging neckbreaker to get the win. Referee Jimmy McGuire missed Roop using the ropes for leverage on the pinfall, which the fans were quick to point out. However, the decision stood.
Brian Blair & “Cowboy” Scott Casey dq Larry Hennig & J.J. Dillon Another solid bout that saw the action start out slowly in the ring but eventually everything hit the fan once Hennig & Dillon threw out the rulebook. A lot of exchanges between Casey and Hennig which, given their history, was no surprise. Finish saw Casey hit the Bulldog on Hennig, but Dillon broke up the pin. He then started choking the Cowboy with tag rope, which he had removed from the corner. Referee called for the bell and Blair chased off both Hennig and Dillon with a steel chair.
The Intelligent Sensational Destroyer b Jack Brisco You knew this one would be wild going in, and it certainly lived up to the billing. Great back and forth bout where each man had their chance to get a victory. Finish saw Brisco go for a Thesz Press, but Destroyer caught him, fell backwards and dropped Jack throat first on the top rope. The Destroyer immediately locked in his version of the Figure Four Leglock to get the win when referee Tommy Weathers ruled Brisco was unable to defend himself and called for the bell. Medical personnel attended to Jack after the bell and were concerned he may have suffered damage to his neck or larynx. He was transported to Pensacola Baptist Hospital and released later in the evening. He’s not expected to miss any dates.
SCCW Championship: HARLEY RACE b Ted DiBiase (No disqualifications; no one allowed ringside) The challenger got what he wanted with the no one at ringside stipulation. The champion got what he wanted by adding the no disqualification stipulation, although the championship committee made it abundantly clear that there would still be no one allowed at ringside. J.J. Dillon refused to leave ringside but was dragged away by Brian Blair and Scott Casey. Once the bell rang, this turned out to be the brutal toe-to-toe match that fans had hoped for. DiBiase got the first near fall with a neckbreaker drop, but Race cleared the cobwebs quickly. The champ came back hard, using his entire body as a weapon. He twice planted DiBiase with a Piledriver, but the challenger got a shoulder up the first time and draped a foot over the bottom rope the second. DiBiase fought back and had nearly got three count with a Full Power Slam. Crowd noise was deafening. Race missed a turnbuckle charge and DiBiase rolled him up. Once again, Race barely got his shoulder up. The two traded big moves until Race headbutted DiBiase in the midsection and drove him into the mat with a third Piledriver to get the win.
An outstanding main event although the fans didn’t necessarily go home happy based upon the outcome. We’ll have a historic show next time that will emanate from the Lafayette Auditorium in Louisiana! Here’s what our great fans there can look forward to:
* It’s no surprise that Brian Blair & Scott Casey weren’t happy with the way things went down in their tag match earlier tonight. Both teams have signed for a rematch in Lafayette!
* The tag-team feud between the Armstrongs and the South Coast champs Jimmy & Johnny Valiant will continue, with patriarch Bob Armstrong facing “Handsome” Jimmy in singles action!
* Your big main event will crown the inaugural Alligator Alley Titleholder! Who are the contestants? We don’t know yet! A random draw will be held at the start of the show to determine which two wrestlers will be involved in the bout!
All this and much more next time in Lafayette!

STAR SPANGLED WRESTLING: Card #10 (Richmond Arena, Richmond, VA)
Some great action expected this evening from the stars of SSW, so let's get right to the action fans!
THE FIRST MATCH: The Conways b. the Terrible Turk & Boris Zhukov, flying head butt (**1/2). This feud continues, between the popular Conways and the dastardly duo of the Turk and Zhukov. This time, the Conways gain a measure of revenge!
THE SECOND MATCH: Rod Fenton b. Nikolai Volkoff, series of dropkicks (**1/4). Fenton, in a rare display of technical prowess, dispatches Volkoff with some pretty good looking dropkicks! Fenton, unlikely as it may sound, continues to be a fan favorite in SSW!
THE THIRD MATCH: The Fantastics b. The Sheepherders, dropkicks (***1/2). Really fun tag match, and an even more fun tag team feud! Fantastics gain a measure of revenge from their loss on Card 8! And this time, it was the Fantastics who sent the 'Herders fleeing from the ring!
THE FOURTH MATCH: Bobo Brazil b. Greg Valentine, big hammer punch (***1/2). Another solid bout, between members of 2 warring factions. Fans loved it when Brazil hit Valentine so hard he seemed to bounce off the canvas!
SEMI-MAIN EVENT: Jackie Fargo b. Larry Zbyszko, Atomic Drop (***). And another strong match, this time seeing Fargo get even with Zbyszko for the disqualification on card 8. This feud seems far from over...will Larry Z pick up a tag partner, and make a challenge for Crusher and Fargo's tag titles??
MAIN EVENT: UNITED STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. Jim Londos (c) (2nd Title Defense) b. Lou Thesz, crotch lift and slam (***1/2). Fun main event, which saw the fans rally to the champion's side, especially when he was down early in the match. Thesz seemed to want to cut a few corners in this one, trying to wrest away the title from the much beloved Londos. Strange behavior, but the opportunity to win a prestigious title such as the United States belt will make a man do strange things!
NEXT CARD: The action in SSW continues to be hot, as the stars of Star Spangled Wrestling make their way to the Roanoke Civic Center, in Roanoke, VA for our next big card of action! Headlining the card will the our US Tag Team Champions defending their belt against the team of Larry Zbyszko and....to be announced! Who will Larry Z pick as his tag team partner??? Tune in next card promoters to find out...don'tcha dare miss it!

A very strong title defense proves that Londos deserves his place at the top... I'm wondering if this change in attitude for Thesz will have further effects on how he performs...
Really enjoying Lightning Rod as a fan favorite... Truth!
